It took 4 days.
Also I bought it before there was a proper review.
I realize now it's a rushed unfinished project with loads of bugs and errors.
It's still in its unopened box and I'm still using my other Aura.
I wished I'd waited now.

I've been recording TV programmes since Betamax recorders were first sold in the UK. I've had many machines since then, VCR's, DVD recorders, computer TV cards and hard drive recorders. My last machine was a Manhattan that lasted several years until recently the internal HDD packed up.
Having never had a Humax box before I decided to treat myself to the new Freely box.
WHAT A HUGE MISTAKE!!!!
Setting up recordings is a mess,(compared to Manhattan), finding recordings by date is almost impossible and then several Freely channels are either a black screen or are so pixelated as to be unwatchable, even though I'm on a full fibre setup running at 150Mb/s
This morning I switched the Freely box on from standby only to find it in setup mode!!!!!
Assuming it must have received a software update last night I went through the requested procedure, when finished I went to view my recording and watch a programme I recorded last night only to find ALL my recording AND all my scheduling of programmes to record had ALL GONE.
This is the worst box I have ever used and request a full refund.
Disgusted !!

HDR Fox T2 controller not working properly.
A few days ago the controller for my Humax HDR Fox T2 began playing up. Today I phoned Humax Support, and after holding on for a while, I spoke to Marcus. I explained the problem, and he asked for my email address. I followed the instructions he sent, and the controller is again working properly. Thank you, Marcus.

Having had a Fox-T2 for some while but which died after many years terrific service :) I tried out a newer model and whilst the device I tested did not service my requirements the guys at Humax were very courteous and helpful throughout.

Humax Aura EZ - not fully fit for purpose.
I've had this Freely streamer and digital terrestrial recorder a few weeks now and find it to be extremely glitchy. Often it refuses to load all Freely channels and necessitates being turned off and on again to resolve. The first software "update" sorted the ITVX issue but appeared to be more a software replacement and deleted all recording schedules and existing recorded material.
What it needs:
Reliable software.
The ability to change channel automatically at a certain time to watch a programme, just like a 15 year old tv.
Apps such as Netflix, Prime, NowTV etc. If it can use BBC iPlayer and ITVX then why not these as well?
An app for mobile phone control. They say it's under development.
Hopefully the device itself is still under development. The concept is brilliant but it's not yet ready to replace my Virgin TV box.

Delivery was next day as opposed to a 2-4 day wait and the remote worked as soon as I put the batteries in.

Bought a Humax in may 2025 ,since then I have been in touch with them about aver two months, all they keep doing is a reset , and if that doesn’t work they tell me another way to reset. Never have they said sorry or offered me anything else not even a refund or a replacement.

My initial contact with the Humax…
My initial contact with the Humax Support indicated that the problems with my New Humax Aura EZ,suggested that I may need to return the unit for assessment and possibly Replacement under Warranty!
However after sorting the Remote Control (new batteries) and then performing a Factory Reset,most of the unit problems were solved.
I still had a couple of problems though!
Further information was supplied to me which involved a Factory Reset. During this Reset my system was also updated with the new system details. After this
Reset I was required to perform an Initial Set Up Procedure, on Completion of this all the previous problems had been resolved. Also the responses to the Menu Requests were much clearer and Positive and more to the point they worked!

Good price, prompt delivery. Bit more guidance on setting up would have been appreciated, no sound on some recordings till we logged into the relevant app, but got there in the end.

Great logistics behind Humax ensured on time delivery and in perfect condition.
Early opinions are good, but the unit doesn’t act as instantly as other paid-for boxes like Sky, BT or Virgin.
Choose a channel, wait 3 seconds while it switches, it means my elderly parents hit buttons 3 times instead of waiting.
The record section of the interface lists channels in a strange way. ITV isn’t the 3rd down as you’d see on any other recorder. Would love to be able to edit the order and store it for forever-after ease of use.
Picture quality is good, just the lag and illogical channel ordering that brings the score down.
