Tea bags now sub standard and poorly packaged

I purchased several boxes of tea bags today (some for my friend!) when I arrived home, I find they are now very poorly packaged in flimsy boxes which do not even keep them in a hygienic manner, let alone contribute to keeping the contents fresh. The bags are now square rather than the regular round. The bags are in twos, which do not separate easily, many split due to the poor covering, some even damaged in the box. The bag material appears to be poorer quality, the perforated point to split the bags is rather ineffective. I purchase Typhoo as they have been, for many years, packed well in foil wrapped packs of 40, keeping the contents fresh, and a great cup of tea.

To say we are very disappointed is an understatement. Unfortunately I am not able to return them to the supermarket, otherwise I would return the 6 unopened boxes. The quality is very second rate in comparison to the round well packaged Typhoo tea bags I have been purchasing for many years.

I submitted a complaint only to be fobbed off with excuses of eco friendly packaging. Bethany was not vaguely interested and would not forward it to the complaints team. Bad show Typhoo.

FINALLY got a response from a supervisor. If I have a problem, return them to the retailer. Only option.

This is really not the retailers responsibility, it’s Typhoo.

Typhoo needs a zero stars option!

The new typhoo teabags need a zero stars option!
The taste is nothing like it was previously; it’s bitter, too strong and rather unpleasant. This smacks of cost cutting wrapped up in all kinds of BS and the result is dreadful. After drinking typhoo all my life I am changing to a different brand. Did you really think people wouldn’t notice when you produced this rubbish??

I have used typhoo for the last 26years,but the new square tea bags are terrible. Flavour has totally changed from satisfactory to a bitter taste, tea bags rip to shreds when separated leaving loose tea in my cup. Please, go back to the original format

Typhoo bags are a JOKE !!!!!

Typhoo tea bags are a JOKE !!!!!! I recently bought 2 boxes of them only to find every other day there is loose tea floating around in my cup which I absolutely detest . If I wanted loose tea then I would have bought loose tea leaves !!!! Loose tea leaves are a big NO NO for me . I got in touch with their customer support team who sent me another 2 boxes of the same which I threw away in the bin . I did ask for a refund as I was NOT happy with their tea but they insisted & assured me the tea bags were a bad one off batch . That wasn’t the case . These 2 new boxes were also a JOKE !!!! They’re in the bin too . TYPHOO YOUR TEA BAGS ARE ABSOLUTELY RUBBISH . Goodbye ?!!!!!!!!

These changes have been implemented in the past few weeks as part of our commitment to restoring and maintaining the high standards our customers expect from Typhoo Tea.

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer a refund as we do not hold or manage store transactions. However, I can see that our Customer Service team previously issued a replacement as a gesture of goodwill to help resolve the matter at the time. This was arranged in response to concerns raised following Typhoo’s administration and the transitional period thereafter.

Foil packed Tea bags spliting on edge…

Foil packed Tea bags spliting on edge and depositing tea leaf in the water. It looks like the crimping edge on the round tea bags is off centre.
Trrid square version but having to seperate them was a problem as unless you're very careful they too rip.
Not happy customer.

Splitting teabags, very annoying

I love Typhoo tea but for the past year the bags keep splitting and the tea falls out into the water. I have put up with this, although frustrating, but I’ve had enough now. Unfortunately I bought a couple of dozen boxes of 240 from B&M when they were only £3.49 so I am stuck with them. I’m off to Tetley.

What happened???

What happened? Typhoo has always been the only tea i drink. But since the new square shape and packaging - it tastes really odd. Metallic. Very strong. Im sure its different. I dont like it anymore. Going to have yo look elsewhere for the first time in 25 years.

Tea bags all seem to burst when lifting…

Tea bags all seem to burst when lifting them out of the teacup leaving tea leafs in the tea! Its recommended to use a tea strainer if this happens?? If I had a tea strainer I would buy tea and NOT tea bags, the whole point of tea bags is to NOT have remnants of tea leaves in your cup spoiling your cuppa. Going back to Tetley as Typhoo are just not my favourite any more.

On the 4th may I left a review and typhoo ask me to call them I have rang 4 times and it just rings out what is the point of asking me to contact them when they don’t answer plus a purchased a 440 bag of typhoo tea bags and they are hit and miss and all my water is put though a filter so it must be the tea bags

240 bad teabags

Bought a 240 tea bag box. Opened the foil and there was an overwhelming odour of paint, I left the tea bags out overnite to air,made no difference !. Made a cuppa but the smell and taste were horrible,won't be drinking that again ! How much plastic is in the teabags i wonder....

Not nice and we were loyal!

We have always been loyal Typhoo tea drinkers and we have noticed in the last few purchases the tea has got weaker and weaker. It is tasteless and the colour is grey rather than brown. We are massively disappointed and we will be seeking other brands to meet our tea expectations! Sadly, it’s time to leave the brand!

Just wanted to add my thoughts here

Just wanted to add my thoughts here. Company states on the box they have cut the amounts of suppliers and consolidated processes to achieve maximum efficiency.

To my mind my favourite tea bag has become bland, weak and tasteless to say the least and I totally agree that the tea bags are continually and habitually coming apart.

There is simply very little flavour in the tea now and as that is by far the most important component (surely) then the updating of practises has been self defeating. How sad that the customer has been ridden rough shod over in order to turn a profit.

Tinme to test the other brands.

Why has Typhoo discontinued QT

Why has Typhoo discontinued QT? Gutted. Never thought this would be unable to buy. My favourite cuppa and easy for me because of having the use of one arm. Have tried everywhere to buy this product. Shame on you Typhoo, I certainly won’t be purchasing any of your other other products.

Boxes Full bursting bags

Ive always used typhoo tea bags as theyre foil wrapped. Great for storage for long journeys on my boat .
But recently they continue to break or split open in the pot

Teabags coming apart

I've been buying typhoo teabags for years. Recently I've begun to get the odd split bag. However my latest box has been a nightmare. Every bag comes apart. It seems they've not been stuck together properly. Its most unpleasant to get a mouthful of tea.. and the mess..!

Response

Teabags are splitting open regardless of how carefully you are. Having to throw a lot of cups of tea away.

Teabags have long since been disposed of as problem was several months ago so not able to provide receipt or take back to shop. But it appeared to be that teabags were sealed too close to the edge if that's any help.
