Avoid at all costs – trapped paying for a car I don’t have with no way out
My experience with Tusker has been completely unacceptable.
My vehicle is currently off the road due to a manufacturing fault, with no confirmed repair timescale, yet I am still being charged over £1,000 per month through salary sacrifice. On top of that, I’ve been given a diesel courtesy car that is nowhere near comparable to the EV I ordered — meaning I am now also paying significantly more in running costs.
What makes this worse is that Tusker have refused to allow early termination while the vehicle is under repair. So I am effectively trapped in a contract, paying indefinitely for a car I cannot use, with no clear resolution and no control over the situation.
This is not just poor service — it feels fundamentally unfair. All of the financial risk sits with the customer, even when the issue is completely outside of your control. When things go wrong, the so-called “benefit” quickly turns into a liability.
There has also been no urgency to resolve the issue. I requested a change of courtesy vehicle weeks ago and nothing has progressed. Communication has largely consisted of quoting policy rather than taking ownership or offering a practical solution.
I have now had to raise a formal complaint and am actively considering escalation through external channels. I do not believe it is reasonable to continue charging a customer in full while preventing them from exiting the agreement, especially with no defined repair timeframe.
If you are considering a salary sacrifice vehicle through Tusker, think very carefully. The scheme may look attractive initially, but the terms and conditions are heavily weighted in their favour, and you may find yourself with very little protection when something goes wrong.
I would strongly advise exploring alternative options where you retain control.
A genuinely stressful and disappointing experience.

He has been extremely helpful, took the time to answer all of my questions thoroughly, and guided me through each step with patience and clarity. The staff were really helpful
The staff were really helpful. A few technical issues getting through the automated phone lines (please do look in to making that better as it is incredible crap), but I got to speak to the person I needed, everything got progressed quickly and I am hoping that I am driving within the month!
