Booked a China Trip (Chinese Version) with Travel Consultant Leo, he was patient and make several suggestions regarding Airfare and Hotel options. We really appreciated his assistance with the China Visa.

I recommend this agency to everyone
I just visited the office with my friend to visit China, and the agent provided wonderful, friendly service at an excellent price. We are happy and are looking forward to our trip in China.

We booked a 2 week tour of Korea and Japan through Air Canada Vacations.
The Korean week was well done with a great guide (many thanks Mini).
The first days in Osaka were decent, until we arrived at the Grand Hotel Hamamatsu. This hotel is a solid 1/5 across the board from rooms to service.
TRIPOPPO should be so embarrassed to include this hotel in the itinerary.
It's like staying an a lousy Motel 6 decades ago. Modern Motel 6 are better than this place....
I won't use this operator again as a result of this hotel inclusion in an otherwise great tour.
Splendours of South America
We went on a 20 day tour to South America using Tripoppo as our agency guide. There were no delays, glitches or difficulties during our 20 days. Transportation – every mode of transportation was excellent. The small white vans, the luxury coaches, the trains and all of the inland and international flights were excellent. Out of all of the six in land flights and two international flights never were we once delayed. The guides were always waiting for us with a Tripoppo sign so we knew exactly where to go.
Luggage - our luggage was handled and carried at every stop. Never once did we have to carry our luggage up to our rooms or back to the lobby or putting them into the bus or train. It was always handled for us.
Tour guides - out of the 16 tour guides that we had from beginning to end of our 20 day tour. Every one of them were extremely knowledgeable, polite, friendly, and all of them spoke English. They went out of their way to make sure every need was met. We can’t thank them enough.
Hotels- all of the hotels that we stayed at were clean. Some of them were beautiful, some of them were average, but they were all clean with all the amenities that you would need including hairdryer, and all of them had free Wi-Fi including the Amazon. Considering some of the remote locations that we stayed at we have no complaints about any of the hotels.
Food- the only food that was provided was breakfast every morning. The breakfast was always a buffet, but excellent and always had hot items, cold items and materials to make sandwiches. The food that was provided in the Amazon breakfast, lunch and dinner was incredible. From the presentation to the taste, to the amount was amazing considering we were in the Amazon. The food in Peru was also delicious. We went out to several different restaurants and tried the Peruvian dishes and they were all delicious. The food in Peru was also very reasonable in terms of cost.
Tours- Tripoppo definitely wants to make sure that you get your monies worth of tours. We were up almost every morning at 5:00 or 5:30 and did multiple tours up to three every day. Each tour was jampacked with information, incredible sites, and lots of history. There was always rest periods in between where you could explore on your own or go for a quiet lunch or simply go back to your room to rest. From the heights of Lake Titcaca, to Christ the Redeemer in Rio to the depths of the Amazon rainforest in Peru, we were able to see sites, experiences and even abundant wildlife. We would highly recommend the 20 day splendor of South America to anyone. The top five favorites for us would be Iguazu Falls, Machu Picchu, the Sacred Valley, Christ the Redeemer, Sugarloaf Mountain, the Amazon Rainforest and the Lake Titicaca islands. We also highly recommend shopping for alpaca clothing in Peru. This also was very reasonable compared to back home. This trip will be a memory of a lifetime for us. It was worth every penny.
Lastly our Tripoppo representative, Max. We have to thank Max for all of his hard work in putting this tour together for us. We had multiple questions and emails even sent from Peru where he got back to us immediately. The communication was perfect. Max also sent us constant updates if there was a change to the hotel or a change of tour guide. He was always on top of things and made us aware of any changes that occurred. He wanted to make sure that we had the best time and all of the information provided before leaving and while on our trip. He also provided us with all of our tour guides and their Whatsapp phone numbers and emergency contacts. We never had to use them, but just in case that was very helpful.
Thank you!! An incredible trip!

Trip to Greece/Turkey
The trip to Greece/Turkey (May 2-12, 2025) was awesome. Everything was well organized, our tour guide was well informed and shared his knowledge with passion. I loved hearing little anecdotes. The food at the hotels and cruise ship was fabulous, all buffet which made it so easy to pick and choose and sample a new dish. May is a beautiful time of year to travel to Europe, not overly hot and certainly not as crowded! My only one complaint, and it's no one's fault, I didn't get to experience eating grilled calamari or any other seafood! LOL All in all, it was an excellent trip! Thank you 🙏😊

Best trip ever
Best trip ever! The tour guides and staff were knowledgeable and friendly (Kostas in particular) and the tour plan a perfect balance if history, relaxing and shopping. Couldn't ask for more. Well done! 10 star if I could. Wanda

Our tour through Greece was all I could have wished for!
Our tour through Greece was exactly as advertised and I cannot say enough about our great local guide, knowledgeable, helpful, patient and excellently laid out daily travel with plenty of stops for photo-ops as well as washrooms and lunch or snack places. This was important for our group of mostly senior travelers. Greece is a fantastic country to visit if you're interested in history and art. This tour had it all! Also the service from the office staff prior to the trip was great, thank you Belle and Jason!

The tour guides in Greece were amazing
The tour guides in Greece were amazing! They timed our visits to the sites so we were there early & missed the crowds. The hotel in Athens was on Omonia Square, with a view of the Parthenon from the rooftop restaurant. Thanks to Tripoppo for a well arranged, fabulous trip.

South Korea and Japan Trip
I just came back from South Korea and Japan tour. I went with my wife and one another couple. We were satisfy with the tour organization. Every aspects of the tour itineraries were covered as outline in our booking. The part which I was disappointed with the tour is the location of the hotel in Osaka and Tokyo which were far from the city center. Based on the past reviews (2024), Tripoppo's management was going to change the hotel location to be central located for all 2025 itineraries. However, it did not happen in our trip. I took us over an hour in Tokyo to reach the city center. This was the big disappointment for me.
6 Days in Peru for the price of 9
The price of the tour was very good but you get what you pay for. A major failure was there was no guide that stayed with the group during the trip. Any issues that came up had to be handled by the local guides and they were only available during their part of the tour. I feel like having a guide who oversees all aspects of the trip is a basic part of a guided tour and I did not understand that this was not a part of Tripoppo's operating procedure. That should be made clear upfront and unambiguously.
Throughout the trip communication was poor with time changes that were not communicated to the group, itinerary changes that were left up to the local guides to deal with and clearly there was no communication between local guides. Because we had someone who was fluent in Spanish in our group we were better able to get information but other groups struggled. The fluency of English in several of the guides was not adequate for explaining problems and changes.
Breakfast was provided every day, even when we had to leave the hotel at 5:15 AM, the hotel had a bag breakfast available. And Tripoppo provided 2 lunches that were unexpected to me. The food was good, however, there were mulitple days when there was not opportunity to get food and we did not eat dinner on several days because we arrived at our destination too late. If we had a guide who traveled with the group, perhaps this could have been addressed as we saw with another tour group whose guide ordered food online (at the guests expense) to be delivered to the hotel.
So why did I give it 3 stars instead of 1? Well, the sights we saw were all great. Most of the guides were knowledgable and friendly. The other people in our group were wonderful and that saved the trip from being a miserable experience due to all the logistical issues. Max, from Tripoppo, was very responsive to emails even though he couldn't do much to help.
Lastly, the length of the trip was misrepresented because 2 entire days were spent traveling. I understand that it makes the trip look like a better deal to include those days but it was supposed to be a 9 day trip and at the end of day 8 we were home in our living room after having spent 20 hours traveling that day. So, really, we had 6 days in Peru. This was a misrepresentation of the trip that was not apparent until it was too late to change our minds.
A Truly Unforgettable Experience!
I recently returned from the Icons of Japan tour with Tripoppo, and it exceeded all my expectations. From the bustling streets of Tokyo to the serene beauty of Kyoto, every stop was thoughtfully planned and smoothly executed. Our guide, Felicia, was outstanding—knowledgeable, organized, and always friendly. She added so much value to the experience with her insights and helpful tips. The itinerary struck a perfect balance between must-see sights and free time to explore on our own.
Highlights for me included visiting the iconic Mount Fuji -the hotel offered a stunning view of the mountain and we had a chance to wear the traditional yukata during dinner, which made the experience feel so authentic and special. It was a perfect blend of comfort and cultural immersion.
Accommodations were clean & comfortable, transportation was seamless, and the group dynamic was fantastic. Hotel breakfast each morning was great variety of hot food, both Western and Japanese options, which gave us a hearty and satisfying start to each day.
I highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting an authentic and stress-free way to experience Japan. Thank you, Tripoppo, for a fantastic adventure!
Great trip in Greece and Turkey.
All the information we received prior to our trip to Greece was very relevant. The trip was well handled and a real joy to be on. Starting with 5 days on land then 3 days by ship this was an exciting vacation. Our guide by land was an archeologist who shared his knowledge with us as we visited magnificent sites.
The ship started out late and a few of us did not go to Mykonos in the night, but I have spent time there previously. Otherwise everything on the ship was superb. Santorini is spectacular, and everything else was a learning experience and awesome. I wish I could give this trip more than five stars.
Booking with Belle Fan
My booking process with Belle Fan went really well from inquiry to final document delivery. Belle was awesome, patient and accommodating. Her response time to emails was always punctual.
A mediocre experience
We have used other tour operators in the past for Europe and found TripOppo to be satisfactory. As an example, we had several elderly people in our recent tour in Sicily, and they were required to drag their own luggage through coble stone streets about 200m in some locations from the hotels as the bus could park in front of the hotel. There were no hotel staff available to assist them, and other travelers stepped up to assist. I am not aware of other tour operators that do this.
The Booking Process Sucks
My trip will depart on May 26th, 2025 so I don't know about the experience yet, and this review IS ONLY ABOUT the Booking Process. I really really HATE IT!
With Gate1 Travel, I go online, select a tour, select a date, input number of travellers, choose type of beds, choose type of air fare, then submit. System would return a list of available choices of flights and whether any of them has additional cost. Since I already built my profile with them, they no longer need any additional information. Then comes the payment screen. I pay a deposit and full payment is due 90 days before the departure date. As soon as I pay the deposit, I have access to the air ticket and am able to select seats, meals etc...
With Tripoppo, I had to do the following:
1/ I saw an ad on Travelzoo, so I chose the tour and date. The price displayed, I chose the price and submit. This step is only "requesting for booking".
2/ I then received an email with instructions how to pay a "non-refundable" deposit. I paid the deposit.
3/ Then I got a call from the agen telling me that the airfare for the reservation I submitted "does not" include checked bag and seat selection. If I want checked bag there would be $100-$200 more per person. I could not believe a travel agency would give its customers an airfare to travel to another country for more than 1 week "without at least 1 checked bag"! I was not too happy already but had to accept the fact that I had to pay more. The agent also offered tickets on other airlines but the price would change.
4/ Then I received another call from the agent saying that I need to sign a document that states once the air tickets are purchased, I am totally responsible for paying for the ticket. I signed the purchase agreement and provided my credit card information.
5/ Then I received another call from the agent asking me to check my credit card account and let him know "exactly" how much the airlines charged my CC account so that he can adjust the total invoice. I later found out that because Tripoppo purchased the air tickets in Canadian dollars so they must know the exact amount in USD.
6/ Then I got another call from the agent saying that he noticed I "chose not to upgrade" the hotel rooms and he recommends to upgrade. Anyway I chose to upgrade so he adjusted the total invoice amount.
7/ Then I received the final invoice with full payment due on ................. But I notice there was a disclosure that until the invoice is paid in full, they have the right to adjust the price up to 7%. WHAT???? I paid the full amount soon afterward to avoid this potential increase.
8/ I received an email invite me to attend a Zoom meeting to go over the do's and don'ts etc... The meeting was very informative.
9/ Then on May 6th, I received another call from the agent saying that he noticed I had selected the "hotel transfer", which is included in the price, on the day I leave Japan. And if I want a "private transfer" he can schedule that for $350 USD. I asked him why it was not disclosed upfront and he said the information was provided. So if the information was provided and I chose not to take the "private transfer", then what is the reason for the call. Up sale?
I forgot to mention that somewhere along the line I had to provide a copy of my passport by email. This process is not secured at all. Anyone can intercept the email and obtain personal information.
With this kind of booking process, I DOUBT that I will ever book another trip with Tripoppo. I like to have all information upfront, I make my choice, and that is it!
I would just like to add to HK's review…
I would just like to add to HK's review as we were on the same trip and I agree wholeheartedly with everything she has said.
I would also like to add that a whole day was wasted going from South Korea and Japan. We were told we could have a later start to the day we were flying to Osaka and it would be an 11 o'clock start, we got to the airport before 12. When we had to wait until 4.30 for our flight. It was a long wait, we now know there was a flight a 9.30am and 11am that day. Had we been able to get the 11am flight, we would have had a lot of spare time in Osaka and for those doing the optional trip to Kyoto the next day, that would have been better spent in Osaka than an airport waiting room.
The tour leader in Japan didn't have great organisation skills. Several times she left people behind who were at the meeting points at the designated times. We had to call her to come and back to get us. We have photographic evidence that we were at the meeting point exactly on time. This held the rest of the group up and we were highly embarrassed and it wasn't our fault.
She called us by numbers rather than names, which I considered exceptionally rude.
I did the optional tour to Kyoto as I particularly wanted to see the Vermilion Torii gates, after going to the tea ceremony and the bamboo grove, we were told we only had 30 minutes to see the Torii gates. There is no way you can see all the gates in that time. She was worried the bus driver would run over his time. We arrived back at the hotel 30 minutes early.
Check the pricing of the optional tours with other local tours. We paid much more for Trippoppo Tours than the local advertised ones. Some other guests did the local tours and reported back that they got the same tour as our paid tours and have no regrets going on the local tours.
The kimono experience wasn't even with kimonos. We were given Yakatas, no hair done, no makeup, no shoes, no fans. We all made it a fun time together but paying $US 55, you would expect to get kimonos, as the works is advertised locally for $US 41.40 or 6000 yen. There was no transport needed to the venue as we were already there.
If you are having bigger numbers in the groups, the group should be provided with communication machines so you can hear what the local guide is saying. In both countries we were told the company thought they were too expensive for the groups, so hearing especially the softly spoken South Korean guide speak was extremely difficult, in fact impossible at times. The Japanese guide couldn't pronounce some words in English as this is her 3rd language, so understanding her at times was unbelievably difficult.
We are pleased we decided to stay on in Tokyo for a further few days as we would never have seen Tokyo properly in a day.
Saying all this, we had a fabulous time as all the other guests were great people and we throughly enjoyed their company. We visited many interesting places and experienced many Korean and Japanese cultural adventures and food.
Would I recommend Trippoppo to anyone else? I would have to say, I think you could do much better with another company and no we wouldn't recommend them. Too many temples and not enough time at interesting places, particularly the Toyota Museum which was extremely interesting. The shrine/street market area in Tokyo if you were doing the kimonos, the list goes on.
Very long days with 7.30 starts and not getting to the hotels until well after dark, one night was 8pm.
