My husband and I had always talked about taking a Rocky Mountaineer Train trip through the Canadian Rockies and Tom of Rocky Mountain Holidays made that happen ! We took the Silver Leaf service from Vancouver to Banff. The process of planning and booking the adventure was smooth and the communication between that and day of boarding was efficient. Tom answered any questions I had in a timely and helpful manner. I highly recommend Rocky Mountain Holidays.

Once in a lifetime experience. The train itself (Goldleaf) is roomy, bright with views from any angle and direction. The dining experience was top notch. The service was one of the best we have experienced: professional, constant, pleasant personalities.

My experience with Rocky Mountain Holidays and its owner Tom Ockleton has been nothing short of exceptional. Tom organised our holiday to Canada for my 60th birthday. Our party of 4 included a special needs person and Tom took care of every detail for our trip to ensure everything was in order. We want to thank you for going above and beyond to make our 40th anniversary trip so special. We enjoyed every minute and will relive the memories for years to come. The tours you booked were perfect. We couldn't have imagined covering so much territory without a driver and tour guide. The hotels were awesome, particularly the Fairmont Empress in Victoria where we enjoyed elegant Gold Level accommodations; the Fairmont Chateau in Lake Louise with beautiful lake and mountain views from our window; and the Canoe in Banff with gorgeous mountain scenery and sunsets. The champagne and dessert at each of those locations was an unexpected treat and very much appreciated. Your suggestion for booking a room at the Mayflower Park in Seattle was spot on. It's such a lovely old hotel and our suite was beautiful.

The trip aboard the Rocky Mountaineer was an unforgettable experience. We viewed spectacular scenery and enjoyed meeting couples from different parts of the world. The food and continuous cocktails were pretty great too! We're so happy that we chose the Goldleaf level; it was such a luxurious way to travel.

In addition to the tours, we particularly enjoyed the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park in Vancouver and The Plain of Six Glaciers Trail at Lake Louise. Both were fairly challenging for us "non-hikers," but so worth the effort. The views were exceptional and the weather was perfect. Moraine Lake and The Butchart Gardens were also favorite visits.

Tom, we can't tell you how grateful we are for your attention to detail in planning our dream trip. You were always so quick to respond to our questions and you came up with the perfect itinerary. We're so happy that you shared your vast knowledge of the Pacific Northwest and Canadian Rockies with us. At least once a day we said, "We have to thank Tom for this"!

Tom Ockelton's encyclopedic knowledge of every nuance and detail of the total Rocky Mountaineer experience and his guidance and suggestions for the meaningful experiences in the Alberta and BC provinces guaranteed a wonderful travel experience! Every aspect of our hotel stays, dining choices, and travel logistics were seamless and effortless upon execution, and the total trip was just a magic carpet ride through the beautiful Canadian wilderness. We cannot imagine it done better!

Four of us planned a trip on the Rocky Mountaineer Goldleaf Service a year ago. We were lucky enough to find Tom Ockelton and Rocky Mountain Holidays. Tom deserves a thousand stars for the bucket list vacation we experienced. We traveled from Vancouver to Kamloops, Banff to Calgary. Tom coordinated everything. He kept us informed on all the hotels, the Rocky Mountaineer, the transfers, and all the excursions we experienced. Tom documented our entire trip for us, and it was during the Canadian rail strike. No worries..we had an amazing experience thanks to Tom. We experienced the Canadian Rocky's, tours to waterfalls and lakes, a cowboy cookout and Calgary. We highly recommend Tom and Rocky Mountain Holidays. You will experience the trip of a lifetime!!

The trip was 5 start all the way around! The Rocky Mountaineer train was outstanding and by far, the care and coordination of our trip by Tom Ockleton was superb. He took such great care of us, anticipating all our needs and making our trip very special.

We came across Rocky Mountain Holidays pretty much by accident (a mis-type on Google when looking for the Rocky Mountaineer website), but after just 1 e-mail exchange it soon became apparent that Tom Ockelton knows his stuff!

My wife and I were finalising a trip from London to Calgary/Banff/Vancouver/Alaska and needed help with the Rocky Mountaineer train journey from Banff to Vancouver. All the information that Tom shared with us was 100% accurate, and he provided considerably more information than Rocky Mountaineer themselves!

We don't normally use travel agents (preferring to do it ourselves) but Tom was able to include some handy extras (e.g. pick-up from our Banff hotel / drop-off to our Vancouver hotel) and other useful pointers before our train trip.

It was also very handy being able to pay for the Rocky Mountaineer trip in GBP via Rocky Mountain Holidays' UK bank account. I presume Rocky Mountain Holidays are able to offer a better exchange rate than Rocky Mountaineer direct.

We are on day 10 of a 12-day westbound trip from Calgary to Vancouver. At every step of the way Tom has been knowledgeable and super helpful. We have enjoyed every aspect of the itinerary thus far.
We are going on the Rocky Mountaineer train starting in the morning and expecting more great things.
Knowing what I know now, I would return to Jasper before Banff. Jasper has a more laid back feel that appeals to me.

After arriving in Vancouver in late August 2023 our excursion on the Rocky Mountaineer to Banff was one that was impacted due to the wild fires. Our Rocky Mountain Holidays representative, Tom Ockelton, contacted us immediately despite the late hour and his own community being impacted by the fires. Tom generously spent his time problem solving with us and ultimately provided everything we needed to be reimbursed for our loss. The customer focus was unparalleled!
