If you want a simple summary of this review, it’s this: this has been an instance of just terrible customer service on the part of Thrivecart. I'm writing this after almost 7 weeks of waiting for a refund. At any point during the below, Thrivecart could and should have just said, “Our agent made a mistake, we’re really sorry. Here’s your refund.”
Here’s the story: I was looking for an affiliate marketing program in June 2025. I emailed Thrivecart to get my questions answered prior to the purchase. I was very clear that I was purchasing this for the affiliate functionality. The two questions I asked the agent that are especially relevant are as follows:
“1. Is there a free trial so I can test it and make sure it does what I need?
“2. Does the $495 lifetime price include Thrivecart hosting the checkout page forever? Is there some aspect of the Pro+ version that I will wind up needing to pay for to get full functionality, and is that always $295/year?”
Their agent replied the following:
"1. Currently, ThriveCart does not offer a free trial. However, we do provide a one-time payment for lifetime access with a 30-day refund guarantee, so you can explore it risk-free.
“2. Yes! The $495 standard plan gives you lifetime access to ThriveCart, including: hosted checkout pages, affiliate management, integration with payment processors, 1-click upsells, bumps, and more."
That was exactly what I needed to hear to make the purchase. They had a 30 day refund guarantee, and affiliate management was included in the one-time $495 payment! So I went ahead and paid for Thrivecart. When I got to the step of setting up affiliate management in my Thrivecart dashboard, I discovered that it was in fact locked behind the $295/year paywall, despite what the agent had told me prior to my purchase.
I decided I would rather get a refund, so I requested the refund on June 22. This was four days after making the purchase.
Rather than refunding me, they required that I fill out a refund request form that would be subject to approval by their senior leadership team. I also discovered at this time that the agent I originally spoke to had also misinformed me about their refund policy, which is actually 14 days. However, it had only been 4 days, so that didn’t matter in my case.
I put in the refund request and waited. Their website states that total estimated refund time is 7-14 business days. I emailed Thrivecart for updates on June 27, July 4, July 10, and July 14. This is what the agent told me on July 11: “Our team is reviewing this and should get back to us shortly. If you submit a chargeback we'll be unable to refund you at all, so it would not be an ideal situation for either parties."
I wrote to Paypal to see what they thought, and this is what I learned from their agent:
a. It is not true that they can't refund if you file a chargeback or dispute.
b. The Paypal agent couldn't think of any reason for a good merchant to drag out a refund request for 3 weeks.
c. The agent recommended that I file a Paypal dispute.
So after about 3 weeks with no word from Thrivecart's billing team, I filed a dispute with Paypal, since I was concerned that I was getting close to running out of time to dispute the transaction.
It's been almost 7 weeks now since I originally requested the refund. Thrivecart’s billing department never did reach out to me about the refund request form that I filled out.
About a week ago, Paypal provisionally put the money back in my account, pending case resolution. Today, Paypal asked me to provide more information, which suggests to me that Thrivecart is fighting this case.
It's one thing to have a great app; it's another to have outstanding support to go with it. I got a new phone and my 2FA app didn't transfer properly, so I was locked out of ThriveCart due to being unable to use 2FA. ThriveCart support immediately helped me and was very thorough in ensuring security while getting my biz back up and running. So grateful! (My previous platform was crickets when I needed help with anything.) ThriveCart has been terrific all around, and I love that it's not one of those pesky subscriptions - I'd much rather do one-and-done. So glad I decided to switch to ThriveCart!
Quick, responsive support for an issue on my end. My Chromebook was showing a blank spreadsheet that I had downloaded with my sales data, and TC support got back to me right away and made sure it got resolved. Overall TC has been a great product and a terrific value for my online sales.
Very good customer support. Whilst I can't guarantee it will be the same for you, I was able to get a response very quickly, which allowed me to progress with the project. A big thank you goes to Winsell from the Thrive team.
Had an issue with an Upgrade to my account that was originally "less than satisfactory".... One email to support and they "Promptly" corrected the issue... (like "really, really fast").
... with Tech, it's generally "how the bumpy stuff gets handled" that separates the winners from the average.

What can I say?
I've tested the solution, so far no problems, the conditions are a refund for the test within 14 days.
I have an online training centre, and I'm very quick to see how to manage the students, which isn't great for finding out what they've taken or not.
I come from the PODIA LMS platform, it's more expensive but the aim was to lower the price so I accept that perhaps the experience isn't as good.
I need to add a system for sending emails, I'm testing BREVO but it requires me to use Zapier or make between the two, which I don't want (Zapier costs as much as my fully integrated PODIA platform, so there's no point).
I tested mailerlite, which is normally natively integrated, but in the end it wasn't possible because Thrive card doesn't support the latest version, so I had to use Zapier.
I changed and found myself with a platform called MOOSEND. OK, I'm new to it, but it's nowhere near the quality of BREVO.
In two, I had to switch because I was quickly blocked on the PRO+ version of thrive card, I was debited twice, the option could only be unblocked after a discussion lasting several days with Customer Services.
I offer freebies, and I discover that customers, even for freebies, have to enter their card number to be debited 0 (it's a no go for a customer).
In short... After a week of fighting... I quickly asked for a refund because I could see that I couldn't manage.
A month later, I'm still begging for my money back.
I sincerely believe that I'll never get it, so I might as well say that I've thrown over $1,000 down the drain.
I'm going back to Podia, telling myself that at least it's more expensive per month, that I have competent customer service and that I can manage all my LMS on my own without having to worry about automation.
In short, I've lost $1,000 and the customer service department thinks I'm an idiot.

I faced a challenge with Thrivecart as the cart editor kept reverting back to the original settings, without my updates and edits.
I was frustrated. I reached out to support. I have had bad experience with other online products where it took a long, long time for support to revert back to me, and sometimes, their response was not useful at all.
Thrivecart's Support was fantastic.
They kept me updated, explained the issue to me, told me how to handle my landing page to get it back on track and jumped in, when they needed to take action on their side.
Their responsiveness even over the weekend, and their explanations were top-class.
When I didn’t understand their explanation, they did not ignore my questions but reformulated their response so that even I as a non-tech-guy could get it.
The support team that reached out and help me was Charlotte, Elise, Kristen, and Nicole.
I guess there were more at hands, behind the scene, so thank you to them as well.

If I could give ThriveCart a 10/5 I would. They offer HUNDREDS of features, yet their User Interface is so easy to master and navigate. Truly a head above their class. And, they have solutions and support readily available. I only wait 2-15 minutes for a response FROM A REAL PERSON!!! Well worth it in this day and age.
