Don’t you hate those reviews that start with, “I never write reviews, but…” I know I do. But in my case it’s true. I never write reviews, but I’m making an exception for The Hues.

I can’t rave enough about their stellar customer service, which seems to a rarity these days. I ordered blackout, sound dampening drapes for my bedroom, and when there was a manufacturing delay in the fabric I chose, they immediately informed me and suggested upgrading my fabric to a more expensive option at no extra charge. I mean, who does that?

My curtains arrived earlier than expected and they did not disappoint. They’re beautiful and so well-made. (I’ve sewn for decades, so trust me on that.) I ordered the pleat header option for my curtains and pleater hooks are not fun— I expressed my frustration in several emails. Customer service representative Liane was kind and patient as she walked me through the process. When I made suggestions to improve their pleater hook installation video, she listened and forwarded my suggestions, and now a new video is in the works. I mean, who does that?

I love my new curtains! They’re gorgeous and great at blocking out light. I’m a little disappointed they don’t block traffic noise as much as I had hoped, but the website is clear that sound dampening curtains aren’t a miracle and I have hypersensitive hearing so I didn’t expect total silence.

I confess I’m high maintenance and had many, many questions during this endeavor. But my questions were always answered professionally and promptly. I think The Hues should offer seminars to businesses interested in improving customer service, because The Hues has nailed it!

Good quality fabric. Not as sound proofing as I would have liked, but it does darken the room. I’d buy this curtain again.

The entire experience was great! I was deciding between different colors and curtain lengths. The customer service team went above and beyond - I sent them a picture of the room and they did a whole visualization for me, and assisted in the sizing of the curtains. The curtains arrived promptly, are beautiful, and fit perfectly! I highly recommend the Hues for curtains and received amazing customer service!

The has been an easy and wonderful experience. Liane the Customer Service Specialist pretty much walked me through everything and even caught an error I made before the curtains were made.
I absolutely love the curtains. The quality of the fabric and labor put into making them is beyond what I expected.
They look beautiful in my small speakeasy.

I think a company's trustworthiness is best evaluated when something goes wrong. In this case the curtains sent were the wrong size. Since they were too big instead of too small, I offered to have a local tailor cut them down, but turned out their machines couldn't handle the fabric. So they are remaking and sending again. Very grateful for the solution even though I know it was costly for them. Will prioritize ordering from this company again. Also, the curtains are lovely.

The rod in beech wood that I purchased is a beautiful addition to my home. I’m very pleased with the look and quality. I couldn’t find this style anywhere except at the hues.

I was searching everywhere for curtain ties for my outdoor curtains on my patio. I finally found what I was looking for on The Hues. The ordering process was super easy and the ties came very fast. They looked exactly like what was in the photo and the quality was even better than I could have imagined. We hung them up and look great and we are very pleased. I highly recommend this website to anyone searching for curtains or ties.

I’m extremely pleased with my curtains from The Hues. I chose the Kensington 100% Blackout curtains in Terracotta with a Double French Pinch Pleat header, and they look wonderful in my living room.

The colour is gorgeous and exactly what I was hoping for and the quality feels great. They hang beautifully and do a brilliant job of blocking out light. The whole process was straightforward and the finished curtains have completely transformed the space.

Would 100% recommend!

I ordered three different sets of the MILO curtains and was *so* pleased with all of them. The fabric is great quality and the colours were accurate, which I really appreciate! The curtains all look fantastic in our home. Would 100% recommend TheHues!

They were great. Communicated well, product arrived in good amount of time and the drapery panels look amazing.

Expensive for a low quality product! I purchased the Oxford Thermal Insulated & Soundproof Custom Door Curtain. Spent $244 for nothing more than a sheet. The Hues is unwilling to refund my order citing that it is "custom". This low quality material was cut from a roll of fabric and shipped directly from China.

Update - It was not "mutual". More like take it or leave it. TheHues only refunded half. Still very expensive for the quality. Buyer beware.

I was looking for a slightly unusual design and TheHues were willing to supply it. The first piece was not correct but they produced a second which is perfect. Quality of work looks excellent and customer service and responsiveness has been great.

I had a very disappointing experience with TheHues. I ordered a custom blackout curtain at a premium price and what I received was extremely thin and cheaply made. It does not perform like a true blackout curtain and looks nothing like how it is presented on their website.

Customer service was frustrating and exhausting. I sent multiple photos showing how thin the fabric was and how light passes through, yet they continued to ask for more photos instead of addressing the actual quality of the product. It felt like they were more focused on protecting their process than helping a customer.

They ultimately refused a refund and hid behind their custom order policy, even though the product did not meet reasonable expectations based on their advertising.

If you are expecting a thick, high quality blackout curtain, I would think twice before ordering. The product did not match the marketing and the after sales support was extremely disappointing.

Update/Edit: they did end up giving me a refund, after posting this review.

For a curtain company that makes their curtains in China, you pay a premium. Now, the quality is good, although ours came with pleat hook sleeves that were accidentally sewed on , so some of the sleeves didn’t work for hanging.

I urge all of you to read their return & exchange policy. For a product this expensive, you really need a stellar customer service. I admit I did not purchase a swatch prior to placing an order, but the curtain color I received was vastly different than the product site. When I asked for a refund, TheHues quickly responded saying color is not a reason to return. In a more collaborative note, I requested an exchange, in which they agreed, but said it came with a $400 fee not including shipping costs.

When someone spends $1000 on curtains, let alone any product, you expect a much better guarantee of product quality and customer service. I would advise you all to go with a more flexible, customer friendly company.
