Company did a great job of collecting the material, and communicating. Payment was extremely prompt upon acceptance. We all would like to get a little closer to spot when we sell, but the payout was fair considering they have to refine and the volume was low. All in all I would do business with them again.

The Carmax of Gold Selling
The Alloy Market seems to be positioning themselves well in the precious-metals buying market, in a way that Carmax did for automobiles.
Their models are similar in that both companies offer potential sellers the middle ground between the high-payout/high-work of selling on the private market, and the low-payout/low-work of selling to their local pawn shop.
In addition, the process is transparent, friendly, communicative and frictionless. I would recommend to other sellers as well.

I’m 80 years old and was nervous about venturing out to nearby gold/jewelry dealers to sell my gold coins. Finding a place, figuring out how to get there, and hoping to get an honest buyer— scary for me. But could I trust an online buyer?Well, the Alloy Market did exactly as advertised. I sent them a picture of my coins (because they, too, want to be careful of their sellers). Then they sent me all the stuff I needed: a prepaid FedEx envelope insured for $20,000, and instructions on how to send it. 3 days later they made an offer and when I accepted it, the payment was in my bank account the next day. I plan to do any future gold/jewelry selling with them.

I had a bunch of old gold charms I knew I was not going to wear again. I started looking around for somewhere to sell when I came across Alloy online. I cannot stress enough how easy this entire process was. I reached out and was sent a fed ex envelope to send my items back. Within two days of me sending it back to them I had a quote that was more than fair and more than I thought I would get. I accepted it immediately and was paid within hours in my paypal. It was literally THAT easy. I would use them again in a heartbeat and will recommend to anyone I know.

Very quick process from my request for information to payment from Alloy
They communicated the process in a timely manner every step of the way. I received the FedEx envelope within a week of contacting them about a gold ring I had. Once I received theFedEx envelope, I contacted FedEx to pick up the ring from me. I was given a tracking number, and verified the ring would be delivered to Alloy on 3/11/26. On 3/11/26 I received confirmation from Alloy that it was received; a little while later, I received an email with an offer for the ring, which I accepted. Shortly awhile later, I received confirmation that payment will be deposited to my bank account on 3/12/26. The whole process, from the time I contacted them to the time payment will be in my bank account, was a little over one week. I will definitely be doing business with Alloy in the future and will recommend this company to my friends.

The process was easy and I received a fair offer to accept or not. They met all of their advertised metrics except evaluating my items the day it's received. I must add I don't believe this was there fault as my items arrived very late in the afternoon. Best gold buyers on the market
I have used other gold buyers and Alloy is, by far, the easiest to send in your precise metals. You send them photos of your items, they send you a FedEx envelope with insurance that covers your items. You enclose your items, drop it off at a FedEx location. And in a couple of days they will contact you with an offer. I have used them twice, so far. But, know what your items are worth, so when they send you an offer you will know whether to accept or decline. I will use them again.

Dishonest
Edit: trust pilot made me remove sections of this review that they said "is likely to cause serious harm to someone's reputation or serious financial loss to a business."
Ok last update I promise: today 3/19 gold is down almost 1K per ounce since they made their offer to me on 3/8. Their online scrap calculator is still quoting me higher estimated offers today than they actually offered me when gold prices were considerably higher.
I used their own scrap calculator to estimate my payout, but the actual offer I received was significantly less despite spot price going up since sending my gold. I also submitted a 22k chain that they claim is 18k. Each piece I submitted was tested in a Niton DXL precious metal analyzer for gold content prior to mailing. I kept the S clasp from the chain stamped 22k so I assume they thought they could lie about it because there was no stamp on the part I sent them. Additionally, all the weights they posted were slightly less than then they weighed at my local shops. I have requested my gold returned to me but I am still awaiting a response.
Edit: As an experiment I returned to their scrap calculator and I entered the exact purity and weight that they recorded for one of my pieces- the "estimated alloy payout" for that is still significantly more than what they actually offered. It seems they're banking on you accepting their actual offer after they've hooked you with the bait and switch estimated offer, knowing you've already invested a lot of time and energy in shipping your pieces. I was hoping that I had found a straightforward and trustworthy place to sell gold without the scamming and haggling, but alas, I was naïve to think that such a place exists. Despite their curated folksy backstory, selling with alloy is no less scammy and violating than going to the local pawn. The only reason I can imagine to sell with alloy is if you are desperate for cash and thus don't care about getting a fair payout, and you live in the middle of nowhere without access to local buyers.
