Friendly, Good Communication, Will Use Again
We hired a motorhome from Manchester depot, for a 10 day holiday in the UK.
Everything was so easy.
The website has all the information you need, with good information about all the Motorhomes they have to let.
Booking is easy and very clear. The prices are reasonable, with free parking for your car, which some companies don't have.
We wanted to collect our Motorhome earlier than stated on the website, communication was good, efficient and quick replies.
The actual collection and drop off went really smoothly with friendly staff.
Everything was explained to us in simple terms and any questions were answered.
This was the first time we've had a Motorhome holiday, it was an experience we wanted, and enjoyed it.
If we do it again we will definitely use Swift Go

A good motorhome let down by poor inspection
The Ascari motorhome was just right for the two of us and was presented to us very clean. However I was very concerned with the brakes. The brake pedal was practically at the floor before any breaking was felt. This was quite disturbing when trying to brake on downhill descent or when leaving the motorway when cars jump into the gap I leave in front to ensure I could brake in time should the car in front brake suddenly. I tow a 1.6 tonne caravan with a 2.2 tonne SUV and I can stop far more quickly than this motorhome. The inspection report leaves a bit to be desired as some items were ticked off as okay when they didn't exist which might answer why the drivers plastic inner door panel was not attached to the top of the metal door frame. This proved to be extremely annoying when travelling on poor road surfaces as the plastic door frame would constantly slap against the metal door frame, making impossible for us talk to each other without shouting! Finally on every occasion I opened the gas locker door I could smell propane. Admittedly the gas will sink to ground level via the vents in the floor but I was concerned that at fuel stations there should be gas leaking. A simple fairy liquid & water test would verify if leaks were present.
The mpg for this Ascari motorhome covering over 1200 miles to travel the North Coast 500 was 37.8 which is pretty good for those concerned about fuel cost.
Regarding the staff we met they were all very good,
Since posting my review I recently seen a copy of an inspection report that states that the brakes on this motorhome are satisfactory and the slapping door panel has been rectified. Therefore I am pleased to state my concerns have been addressed. As I am not a motorhome owner I was unaware that the brakes on a motorhome are not in the same league as those on a SUV.

** Update 9th July ** The vehicle has been checked by a qualified mechanic who could find no cause for concern and, having road tested the vehicle, stated that the brakes "reacted as expected at the time of inspection". We have sent you a copy of the garage's report in the interest of transparency. Nevertheless, we thank you for voicing your concern and understand that the braking probably felt significantly different to that of your car. Hopefully, you are satisfied that we have taken your comments seriously but feel free to get in touch should you wish to discuss further.
Thanks for taking the time to post a comprehensive review. We maintain our fleet to a high standard and adhere to recommended vehicle service intervals but we don't get the opportunity to road test vehicles between rentals. This means that, to an extent, we are reliant on customer feedback to identify anything that doesn't manifest itself at low speeds. We're sorry that a screw had worked loose in the door blind and appreciate that the noise created might be frustrating. Following your recent feedback, we did take the Ascari out on the road and didn't feel there was a significant issue with the braking but, nonetheless, we have temporarily removed the vehicle from our fleet pending inspection by a professional. As a responsible and reputable hire company, we take safety concerns very seriously and thank you for raising these points upon return of your motorhome. We hope that you enjoyed your holiday and appreciate your valued custom.
