I always get what I order from summit racing and I came on here to just give an A+ to how they just do not mess around when it comes to shipping out your order. I ordered something and they shipped the same day. And I'm not talking about the label was created. I'm talking. They actually got it out that day and it's on its way here now. I see they're star rating here and I just don't get it. I've never had an issue with this company. I've never had an issue with shipping. I've never had an issue with ordering. I just don't understand. I called them one time over trying to figure out exactly what kind of transmission fluid to use on a 2010 Dodge Challenger RT and the person I spoke with on the phone said exactly the same thing as the people did that actually manufacture the Trimec 6060. Every single other person I spoke with about that transmission all gave me the wrong information. So I really don't get the star rating. They absolutely don't deserve that. I have their app on my phone and I order from them all the time and I have never had a single issue.
Great over several orders
I have ordered several items from Summit and they have been excellent every time. This review may sound like an AI but I assure you it is real. My parts were for a 06 GTO, 69 Firebird, 69 Camaro, plus a few others.

Notice that their shipping couriers are getting expensive than before and their price item also has increased lately. So, I don’t go for it and opt for other company which is far better than them. I totally stopped ordering from them now.

I’ve ordered from Summit Racing before and generally expect a better level of service from a company this established, but this particular order was a frustrating customer service experience.
My package had a routing exception and the delivery date changed multiple times. The delay held up progress on my project, so I contacted support asking for the issue to be made right. Eventually, Summit refunded the shipping/handling charge, which I appreciated, but getting there took far more effort than it should have.
The biggest issue was not just the delayed package — it was the way the situation was handled. The responses felt scripted, inconsistent, and at times completely disconnected from the actual issue. I had to repeatedly ask for escalation, clarification, documentation, and ownership. At one point, a standard Prop 65 checkout message was sent in the middle of a customer service escalation without any clear explanation, which made the process even more confusing.
To Summit’s credit, the shipping/handling refund was processed. However, the overall experience made me feel like the customer had to push hard just to get a basic resolution for a clear delivery problem. A company of this size should have a much cleaner, more accountable process when an order is delayed due to a routing issue.
I hope Summit improves how these cases are handled. Clear communication, real escalation, and ownership would have made a huge difference here.
I will only use Summit!!
Summit sent me a bad battery for my wife’s 2015 Chevrolet Malibu. This is a very large and heavy battery. When I called to tell them the issue they painlessly made it right. I proved the battery was bad with a tester and they sent out a new one without requesting I send the heavy defective one back. Now anytime I need a part I go to summit. Great customer service!!

Summit has lost their customer service late shipments, using a horrible shipping company with only a 1.5 star review (Ontrac) They really could care less about the customer and my 20+ years of loyalty. time for a switch
Bait and switch - wrong part.
Bought a hub bearing combo that did not have the bearing when arrived - the part was listed as a hub/bearing. When contacting them they blew me off for 2 or 3 months and then just ghosted me completely so I'm eating those and the shipping. I would highly recommend getting something from them in writing either through a support email or whatever if you have any doubts about ordering the right parts. They WILL SCREW YOU if its the wrong part.

My package was sent to the wrong address. They denied me to use shipping insurance on the package. Even though it was delivered to a house and I live in a manufactured home park with a trailer number on the package.

My company ordered a transmission and it was going to be drop shipped from their vendor, after it was several weeks late i began to contact Summit, they never resolved it with the vendor and refused to cancel the 6k order. We had to dispute it with our credit card. We shopped with Summit for more than 20 years and have made over 300k in purchases but they are no longer an approved vendor.

I ordered a gasket set thinking ahead but it turned out that my engine was too far gone. Decided to LS swap. Called and messaged immediately, had just shipped. Found out from Fed ex that Summit puts restrictions on shipping so they control it completely. All Summit had to do was place 1 10 second phone call and pull shipment back. Instead the customer service rep "Shawny" spent the next 2 weeks e mailing and messaging me to the tune of many hours as if it was a competition. Package roamed around Georgia for over a week, still will not cancel shipment. It arrives 1 week late and I refused the package. They had Fed Ex redeliver it the next day. Lol.All that just to get me a part i didn't need very late. Thx a bunch Summit for letting me know who not to do business with.

I have ordered many items from summit racing and every item was shipped and at my home within 2 days I purchased a torque converter that did not fit between a LQ4 and a 4l80E transmission. Well I called customer service and within 15 mins they helped me get the right TC and refunded and sent the new TC out the same day without my wrong TC even close to being ready to send back. 110% customer service. 150% customer support finding the right parts thanks summit for your outstanding company
Avoid at all costs
From fake shipping times, to having them hold items for multiple business days so it still arrives late despite spending over $100, to items so far out of stock they blow by their estimates by 4 months and still can't even tell you when it *might* arrive, Summit is an awful experience.
Prices may be decent, but customer service or actually getting your parts is a nightmare. Pay the extra and go somewhere else.
Very Uncooperative
I placed a small order with Summit Racing and didn’t realize their system still had an address from 13 years ago on file. On the checkout page, the shipping address is displayed in a much smaller font than the cart items, and I overlooked it. That part is on me.
What disappointed me was their response. I called twice and submitted a message through their website, but the only answer I received was essentially that nothing could be done. The items weren’t expensive, but the lack of willingness to help was surprising and frustrating.
Because of this experience, I won’t be ordering from Summit Racing again.

I ordered a catalytic converter for my 1997 dodge ram and I got it pretty quick actually within 3 days time from Texas to Pennsylvania but when it arrived, I opened the box and there it was not even wrapped sitting loose in a box with a single piece of paper under it. So I pulled it out and inspected it and all it looked good until I see a massive dent in the tip of the exhaust where it connects to the manifold…I would have to pay a return fee to return this item…it could have easily been avoided simply with better packaging it’s just ridiculous I won’t be ordering from summit racing again and hopefully I can get this bend out so it will fit properly.
How much is your time worth?
I made the mistake of giving my car loving husband a gift card for Christmas to Summit Racing. When he applied it to his newly created account it was applied to an existing account that was created many years ago with a long dead email account. A week later, 10+ calls to customer service and despite continual assurances it is fixed it is not. Last straw was 3 calls today issuance of a new gift card number. Once online it shows invalid. Another call to customer service and he was told they only update those once a week. Instead of a happy guy working on his car I have an extremely frustrated unhappy guy NOT working on his car. This is not ok. I will not make the mistake of trying to gift something from Summit Racing again.
