Illegal return charges for sale items
Strathberry have charged an illegal re-stocking fee for a returned birthday present that was returned within 14 days of purchase.
Despite their claim "it's our policy for sale items" as stated on their returns section of their website, this actually contravenes UK law for online purchases and they are now refusing to respond to any further communication in Paypal.
Even in the face of published UK law on the government's own website they are still stating that they do not have to give a full refund for an unused item returned with the original packaging undamaged.
Avoid at all costs.

We always aim to handle returns in line with both our policy and applicable consumer regulations, and we regret that your experience did not reflect the level of service we strive to provide.

Purchases outside the UK
The company has no warehouses in the EU, so FedEx shipments must clear customs in all countries outside the UK. Not only that, the FedEx courier will e-mail you a series of incomprehensible documents and instructions that you'll need to fill out quickly, otherwise you'll pay €10 for each day of customs delay (deposit).
Therefore, you'll wait several days longer than expected for them, resulting in additional costs and, most importantly, you'll have to waste a lot of time filling out all the customs paperwork.
P.S.: After the review, the company contacted the courier, and the bag arrived the next day.
They wrote to me apologizing for the inconvenience and saying they're working to resolve the issue.
The bag is a little darker than the photo, but it's really beautiful.

Strathberry n FEDEX are all LIES
Strathberry I’m still waiting for a REFUND..
FedEx delivered to different locations. (No photos n don’t know the name who took my parcel).
Parcel was delivered 10/04/26 @ 1.53pm.
FedEx said they will come back n get the parcel n deliver to me.. NEVER HAPPENED. According to FedEx they came 4 days later n took of the person they delivered to n gave me the parcel..
I never heard anything like it before.. all LIES.
Strathberry keep telling me the BANK are holding my money.
It’s been a month n I have no handbag n no REFUND.
I will be going to auction fraud as this is absolutely ridiculous.
Everytime I wanna speak to MANAGER not available.
Kirsty keeps telling me the company don’t have the money. Sorry someone has my money.
Be very careful with FedEx n they are liars n the company don’t help u with retrieving your parcel back.

Our Customer Care team has previously emailed you outlining the available options. As a chargeback has now been raised with your bank, the funds are currently under review through the banking process. While this review is ongoing, we are unable to process a direct refund from our side.
We can confirm that if you choose to withdraw the chargeback with your bank, we would be able to arrange for a replacement bag to be sent to you.
We appreciate this situation has been disappointing, particularly following the delivery issues and investigation with FedEx, and we apologise for the inconvenience caused. Unfortunately, once a chargeback is active, the timeline and outcome are managed directly between the bank and the payment provider until their review has been completed.
If you would like to proceed with the replacement option, please reply to the latest email from our Customer Care team once the chargeback has been cancelled, and we will be happy to assist further.

Beautiful Bag, Disappointing After‑Sales Experience
I purchased the Strathberry Melody Tote in Tan Suede in mid‑February this year and absolutely loved using it for work. Unfortunately, within a month of purchase, one of the screws from the gold hardware on the side came loose and went missing.
I contacted customer care immediately and was very impressed with their initial response, they replied within 24 hours (27 March) and asked for photos of the bag and the missing part. On the same day, they confirmed that they would send the replacement hardware.
However, since then, the experience has been disappointing. I have followed up two or three times to check on the status and was repeatedly told the hardware was being sent. I was even provided with a FedEx tracking number. Ten days after receiving the tracking details, I still hadn’t received anything, so I contacted customer service agai, only to be told that the item had not actually been dispatched.
In the meantime, I’ve been taking the bag to work without the gold hardware, which really affects the look of an otherwise beautiful bag. While the design and quality of the bag itself are lovely, I do wish the dispatch of replacement hardware had been handled more efficiently. A great product, but unfortunately let down by delays in after‑sales service.
