Zero communication, can't be bother to reply

Wish i'd read the reviews here before using Stephen James, I have been emailing and calling leaving messages for the last week, they just can't be bothered to reply or call back. 3 emails sent to Lauren Seymour and several phone messages, can't be bothered to respond.
Well guess what, if they can't be bothered to reply, i can't be bothered to take my car to them in future, i'll take it to somewhere that gives a **** about their customers

The worse service that you can approach
It is only independent dealer for BMW which main BMW can’t control leaving you to deal with them directly and they doing what they can to get you tired by ignoring you not calling back as promising
Avoid avoid avoid
They have damaged my car and don’t won’t to take responsibility
Check your car before handing over and compare once given back !!!!! My advise

First Service on my Mini Cooper

Was told by Stephen James BMW Ruxley on my first service that my back brake pads would need replacing soon as they were 90% worn. Given the excessive wear I asked them to fit new pads there and then as I dont live local. They advised that I would then have to wait about another 2 hours for the brake pad replacement as all work was done via time slots and they would need to re-book the car in !!! The car was already in the service bay. Ridiculous. They then advised me the following day via email that the cost for replacing the 2 pads on a Mini Cooper would be £225.01 . Extortionate amount in my opinion. Also the mechanic advised that the rear pads needed replacing. I examined the car when I got home and it was the FRONT pads that needed replacing not the rear !!! The garage has not bothered to answer a simple question around the unit cost of the pads. Poor service. Do they think people have nothing better to do than hang about a garage all weekend !!! The brake pads should have been fitted on my request. Disgusting service.

18 months later no answer

I filed an official complaint in November 2017 according to Ombudsman instruction. The term for the dealership to reply is 8 weeks. Still waiting for an answer today. Simply awful.

V v v poor Same problem Have been trying to contact them for help and advice for the past 2 weeks now, and have requested call backs from them. Never received any phone calls and the reception can’t help answer a simple question. Not a happy customer from them

I would not take my car back to Stephen…

I would not take my car back to Stephen James bmw if you Piad me they do not do a good job they lie on a health check did not noticed two broken rear coil springs telephone up To complain to the manager just got flipped off I would never ever use them again not as good as they say is please be aware manger never got back to me after he said he would look into it

Do not trust Stephen James Bromley

I and my family have been buying new cars from Stephen James over the last fifteen years. We bought some 10 new cars from them over the years. Unfortunately, we will not deal with them anymore as I am led to believe that they have become dishonest and unprofessional. They will do everything to sell you something which you do not need. I have lost my confidence and faith on this company which has allowed its sale team to conduct like a second hand car dealer.

I was approached by one of their salemen last week offering to sell me a new 740d M Sport at a big discount with zero interest charges. To secure the car, the salesman called my wife with short notice to visit the showroom and to put a deposit of £2000. Whilst my wife was in the showroom, we reconfirmed the sale package and my wife also gave him a date when we would like to collect the car.

Three days later, I received an email advising me the car was no longer available. The salesman offered me a completely different car at a less attractive package.

My wife went to the showroom the following day trying to claim back our deposit. Our case was transferred to two managers who have tried to convince me that a similar offer would be forthcoming. They have also made some ‘unacceptable’ excuses explaining why the car which we reserved a few days earlier was no longer available.

Unfortunately, the ‘manager’ is trying to sell a less attractive car to me at a higher price - 730 instead of 740 and the price is £10,000 more expensive that the first offer. I have turned down this offer as I am not sure if there would be any other hidden charges !

At no time during our negotiating has the company offered us a compensation. The ‘manager’ could not give me an answer for my question - if the car had been available and I had not bought the vehicle, would they have considered returning the deposit to me. I am not looking for a compensation but I am demonstrating that Stephen James sale team is not acting honestly and is not playing a fair game to the company’s customers.

Do NOT fall into any ‘excellent offer’ trap - no matter what Stephen James have promised ! They are merely trying to mislead you and make you put out down a deposit hoping they would sell you something else. With hindsight, I am not sure if the first or original offer existed.

The process of buying a new car should be an enjoyable experience rewarding oneself for his/ her hard work. It has now ended up in a situation where I would need to engage a lawyer to claim back my deposit if Stephen James delays returning the £2000 to me. Experience also tells me this could be a sign that a business is running into financial difficulties - think twice before ordering your new car or buying any cars from this company.

DO NOT TRUST THEM

DO NOT TRUST THEM. Took my three year old car there for service. Was told engine was gone and cost to repair was 15k. Took it elsewhere for a service again to another BMW dealer car was serviced with absolutely no problems to report. Daylight robbery!

Overpriced and low value service

A BMW is not exactly a cheap car. So you might be forgiven to hope that a BMW service provider would have some sort of customer focus. However, Stephen James are not only substantially more expensive than regular service stations, their service is decidedly sub-par.

My most recent example is due to a dust cap that was completely stuck. About to go on a long distance trip, I didn't want to take the risk of not being able to drive with adequate tyre pressure. Calling Stephen James for some emergency assistance, all I've been told is that there is no guarantee they would be able to help. They were all fully booked. They advised that I could use BMW Assist if I had warranty, which I don't anymore. So that was no help either. Otherwise they told me there was nothing I could do, leaving me completely exposed.

Turns out that Halfords, who are not BMW specific, are able to help on short notice and at a fraction of the price.

This is for BMW Woolwich - Aways great!

This is for BMW Woolwich. I’ve serviced my car with them right through from when they were located at Blackheath. Now service is more better upgraded. Spacious office, with better parking facilities here at Woolwich ... but mostly greater customer services, friendly reception, attention to details, car wash post servicing and great time keeping because my car is my taxi. I had a courtesy car before (a life saver) whilst my car was being serviced.
Derek Williams and Claire Hunt are professionals who sure knows their jobs and should be seen as a great asset to BMW. And so does Paul, Angela and Chris who also attended to me at some point as well. The ladies at reception sure knows their job too, warm welcome at all times with contagious smiles. I think you guys are great, please keep up the fantastic job.

I went to the Ruxley site a few weeks…

I went to the Ruxley site a few weeks ago with my sister and we dealt with Nathan Jobson in sales. Fantastic experience buying her new car from start to finish. Nathan was very helpful and professional and there was no pressure to make a decision like other places we visited the same day and the car is perfect

Avoid Stephen James Woolwich

Avoid Stephen James Woolwich. I would give zero stars if I could.
They replaced 2 rear 18inch alloys on a 3 year old, 36K mile BMW for £1000 - daylight robbery. They also damaged my paintwork, causing chips on the boot and passenger front wheel arch, which they tried to hide by a very poor touch-up job! AVOID at all costs

Professional Sales Team

The service we received from both Rahaab and Chris at Stephen James Bromley when we bought our BMW exceeded our expectations. They were professional and Rahaab had a passion for the cars he was selling. Also the Receptionist was helpful and very prompt when answering our calls. A breath of fresh air from our local BMW dealers in Hampshire and we have no hesitation in recommending Stephen James.

Stephen James BMW Woolwich- For last two weeks we have been trying…

Really frustrating....a showroom which only boasts of 5 star service, but only worth of single star period. They used to be better in blackheath, but not anymore

Stephen James Ruxley Consistently Bad Experience

Speak as I find. I have tried a number of times to book my car in for a recall at the Ruxley location. I can say on both times the experience has been nothing short of shambolic / amateurish. First time passed around from pillar to post, people picking up and hanging up the phone to stop it ringing I assume - so unprofessional. Eventually told that they will contact me when ready to do the recall. I have not heard anything since. BMW since written to me advising I get the recall completed. So I called again and got same experience. You get a don't care feel with the staff. What is really concerning is if this is the culture and level of care and professionalism would you really trust them with your car. Think about it. I am now wondering if I did have them service the car or complete the recall will they do it correctly?

Everyone can have an off day but I have had nothing but a bad experience. It has made me re-evaluate whether I want another BMW if my local dealership is so poor for aftercare.

God help us if the recall was really urgent car may have caught fire by the time Stephen James ever get around to carrying it out.

Stephen James - you have a problem that management need to heed and get a grip of. BMW supposed to be a premium brand but you are offering a Poundworld experience

STAY AWAY from the con men at WOOLWICH Stephen James BMW

I just bought a Mini Cooper S from WOOLWICH Stephen James only to find out that the Salesman ANDREAS CHARALAMBOUS is a complete con artist and will promise extras to get a deal over the line only to find I’m actually paying for those extras at a much later date on HP Credit. STAY AWAY and deal with a more professional and upstanding dealership - Ben Collins should be disgusted with his staff.

Peeling Roof Rail BMW X3

I took our car in for service back in Jan 2018 Enfield had an issue with a peeling roof rail service adviser took photos to send BMW UK heard nothing for 5 months so rang BMW UK myself they had nothing so they got back to the dealer who said the service adviser would ring me which he did on the 24th May 2018. He said leave it with me I have the photos heard nothing back so today 05th June 2018 I rang BMW UK again they said they had nothing so they put another complaint back to Stephen James I rang to speak with the service adviser in a meeting as they are all day also customer service adviser not at his desk. I sent an email lets see what happens. I will probably have to go there myself and deal with it because they Stephen James seem to be unable or capable of sending photos to BMW UK.
