The worst customer experience I've ever…
The worst customer experience I've ever seen, I dont know what's happend to enfield parts, seems like the people that work there do not care about anyone or anything, been trying for 2 days to talk to someone on the phone and they never answer, you could be on hold for 10minute and then the line goes dead. but when you go there it's like walking into a social club, the colleague will be talking about rubbish that has nothing to do with their jobs, but yet theres a que of 6 people outside, you guys really need to pull a finger out and employee people that want to work not employ north london bums
Stephen James Woolwich
PLEASE BE AWARE! I did not heed the reviews and advice of friends and family before taking my car here. I have now learned a costly lesson. Please look elsewhere if you want to receive a good service and value for money.
Ridiculously Overpriced servicing charges
If you have extra money to throw then do visit Stephen James at Enfield, they charge over £100 just to change brake fluid!! What a rip off!! AVOID AT ALL COST!!
Alloy Refurb - Enfield
I had my alloys refurbished at Stephen James Enfield.
I found the staff very professional and helpful
The alloys were refurbished to a very high standard and I was kept informed of their progress.
I would highly recommend them.
Thank you
SJ Ruxley too busy to care?
My wife and I met with a salesperson (pre-lockdown) and enquired about buying an ex-demo/ nearly new X3 M Sport. The salesperson took my details on a notepad (though surely inputting them directly into the system would been more efficient, and would have demonstrated they took me seriously?). They didn't have what we wanted in stock, but were told they would look at what is in group and call us back, as well as 'keep an eye out'. We never heard from them again. Needless to say, we contacted another approved dealer outside of this group and have received much better service (and during lockdown!). As such, we have now processed an order for a £35k X3 which will be delivered in the coming weeks.
SJ Enfield - very interesting read!
Had the first MOT on my 330d - Advisory rear pads running low
4th May - Booked the car for pads changing at Stephen James Enfield. Timothy Kwan (Tim) served me, took the car and after 45-50min later phoned me to inform that rear discs are lipped and also require changing, and I knew the discs are fine and don't need changing as when I done my MOT I inquired about the discs. His attitude changed and he pushed me over the call to have them changed and I quote"No sir you discs are not fine and they require changing" I refused the work as I dropped the car with the intention to only changing the pads, he rudely dropped the line saying "car is ready for collection".
14 May - after consulting with my wife we decided to change both the pads and discs, from Stephen James Enfield as they are approved dealers. had booked and dropped the car for pads and discs to be changed. After few hours got the text, car is ready for collection, Here is the thrilling part.. the serving person Emma said we only changed pads as the discs were fine.
(also there was no video as this visit was only 10 days apart).
Now I appreciate the teams Honesty but as a novice customer wouldn't I think who was right? have they not put me in doubt whether my discs are fine or not? am I safe on the road?
I raised a query with BMW - John, from Stephen James enfield called and explained politely that your discs were amber and could last another pair of pads, that just broke my heart and I felt Tim was so unworthy of my time, had he not pushed me or misguided me I could have had the pads done on the 4th - first visit. I could have saved my time and extra visit.
Tim not only misguided and wasted my time, his attitude also changed on the call for all the wrong reasons.
Readers: PLEASE HAVE YOUR CARS CHECKED FROM A LOCAL GARAGE BEFORE GOING TO THIS ONE, SO YOU KNOW WHAT EXACTLY NEEDS DOING, JUST INCASE EMMA/JOHN DOESN'T SERVE YOU AND ITS TIM WHO MIGHT PUSH YOU FOR THE UNNECESSARY WORK AND IF YOU DON'T AGREE HIS ATTITUDE WILL CHANGE.
Don't touch Bromley Stephen James with a barge pole!
Awful place. Forget rip off Britain! They make the most of every job. Customers are cash cows. Lovely showroom and shop front, good welcome, THEN it goes down hill. Poor technicians. Big bills. And list goes on. Find a local Coopers or Sytner ideally. After years of loyal custom to Stephen James Bromley, never again. My BMW's will go elsewhere and be treated with TLC.
Very happy with the service in general!! Well done!!
Had to drop my 5 series to BMW STEPHEN JAMES in Enfield and some work was carried out on my vehicle. Very happy with the outcome and would like to thank the service team manager, Mr Dean Agass. Dean was very helpful and clear from day one. Kept me informed about the whole process and the car drives like a dream now. Many thanks to everyone at BMW Enfield that looked after my my car.
Many thanks

BMW Bad Security Features, heartless finance department
I leased a Brand New BMW 520i M Sport Saloon through Steven James and BMW finance, I took delivery at the end of Nov 19 and within 6 weeks the car was stolen in broad daylight off my drive. The car was locked and both keys with me in the house, the thieves never broke any windows to gain access and am told by Police and Insurance company the theft was done possibly with an App and possibly completed within a couple of minutes. So far with initial down payments and by the way BMW finance insist I keep paying the monthly repayments until they are paid by my insurance company,i'm currently around £3500.00 down so far. My insurance company told me they were willing to replace the vehicle, so i would not lose out but BMW Finance told me I cant do that they want to paid in full from the Insurance company and if there is any short fall, i will be liable to pay the difference. BMW have sold me a vehicle with sub standard security features and as far as i can see profiting at there customers expense. This bad practise must stop and the government needs to intervene, if you lease a BMW i suggest you sleep in it for the first year because if it's stolen you will get your fingers burnt.
I'm hope BMW see this complaint and error of there ways, and make good my losses, if they do I will certainly write a positive review or post my full loses in this debacle after things are finalised.
Looks as though it's public transport for me. Thanks BMW
Took my X5 for my end of 3yr service
Took my X5 for my end of 3yr service. Paul Robinson, apparently service manager is the rudest service person I have met in my 15yrs of my interactions with a car showroom so far. In fact I spent about a grand on my tyres, still I couldn’t get best service out of him. It’s a shame I bought two of my X series with them. If they staff up with snobby guys like him, I am glad to take my money elsewhere.
I recently gave my car in to be…
I recently gave my car in to be serviced with Stephen James Enfield. The Service Manager Brian McManus explained what would be done thoroughly and patiently. He advised me after that my car was in good condition and had been maintained well. He also gave me constructive advice and tips how to drive my car efficiently as to avoid any unnecessary problems and repair costs. He was extremely honest, sincere and patient, answering my queries and questions thoroughly and in a simplistic manner.
I reccomend this dealership highly and also ask for Brian McManus, the Service manager to assist and advise you accordingly

Buy From Sytner - Avoid SJ
Worst BMW I have had lots of dealings with in the past and the service still as bad as before. Went into branch before Christmas and a trainee was really helpful and knew his stuff. Spencer I think his name was. He spec the car and showed me the colours etc. He couldn’t sell so passed me to a sales colleague who told me he was not able to take pre orders until 2/1/2020. Left my name number etc and was told I would get called on the 2/1/2020 so I can go and reserve. No call back and then spent two hours calling them on the 3/1/2020 to try and reserve before going to another dealer. The phones would just ring off after 5 mins. Spoke to peter from Enfield branch today and he said they were closed at 4 but I said the website says 7 which he replied to it was only yesterday due to an event.
I have ordered the car from chigwells sytner who had the easiest sale as Stephen James had already spec everything.
The history with Stephen James. Bought a brand new mini one when it came out and had a few issues with it gave the car back to repair then got it back with. One of the issues dealt with but other issues not reported done.
Took my uncle into their branch on a Friday in 2014 and young guy didn’t want to help three guys from Cyprus and told us the car we saw on their second hand car list was being prep and could not be seen until a week later. Called on Saturday morning and spoke to a lady who said the car can be seen in an hour walked in at lunch paid the full amount in cash no haggling. That sales guy lost his job as he was Lazy or didn’t like foreign buyers.
Sytner Chigwell we purchased four mini one there instead of Stephen James due to my previous experience and our cars were swapped for new minis a few years later. Service always great and always have cars to use while cars in. Stephen James should mystery shop their store and sytner and compare.
BMW should consider taking the licence away from Stephen James as they are loosing sales from such bad sales people.
Stephen James BROMLEY
Stephen James BROMLEY - MINI
Booked the car into the Bromley branch for a faulty tyre pressure monitor sensor on a wheel. They told me they would start the job but it was likely that this would be a chargeable job as a tyre had previously been changed on the car and whoever changed the tyre must of damaged the sensor. All this before they had even looked at it.
This sounds like an absolute SCAM.
Avoiding fixing BMW/Mini Cars that are under warranty. AVOID.
Avoid BMW Stephen James Enfield like…
Avoid BMW Stephen James Enfield like the plague and read my review if you want to be amused. The most horrific experience we had trying to buy a car. We made an informed offer on a 7 series but were told the deal is not possible by Enfield (despite being quoted the very deal by their other branches). We were hounded for days by calls and finally put through to their finance manager under the pretense that our initial offer was acceptable. When he picked up the phone it was as if he wasn't aware of the previous discussion and his attitude basically was "Right, this is the best I can do. What's your card number for a deposit", when rebutted he went on "Ok so if I do this, are you putting a deposit down now". It was so pathetic you'd expect such a bullish "sales push" from an upstart fresh out of school (actually skipped school entirely) on an apprentice show. So we refused. Finally, the next day we got a call from their salesman to say he was off the day before and he wanted to say our offer was acceptable so we could have the privileged of coming in to drive the car in question (yes all this time we had not got behind the wheel even). So we go in, have a quick ride and put down a deposit. THEN, to our utter UTTER shock, we get an email from the sales person clearly meant for his colleague referring to us as "Knob eds" (couldn't even spell it right but he's an essex lad innit). I am not joking, this really happened. Then they tried to pass it off as "Oh don't worry, sorry, that was an in-joke email I was meant to send my colleagues". We still have the email, if we had the inclination, we would take things further, but a complaint to the supposed manager garnered more excuses. These people are a pathetic, laughable, repulsive tragedy masquerading as a car dealership. A diabolical blight on the whole industry if not just BMW. Good lord, please avoid unless your life depends on it.

Avoid at all costs.
Terrible customer service and claims to my wife that work that needed doing on my car suddenly became mistakes when I challenged them.
We have used them 3 times, twice I have given them the benefit of the doubt about trying to pick our pockets, but three times is ridiculous, they might as well have been wearing masks.
Never again.
Stephen James Bromley - EXCELLENT Service
Stephen James - in BROMLEY
This review is regarding the Bromley branch. It is in contrast to Croydon Coopers for which I gave a One Star review (see my reviews on Google Reviews Croydon and Trustpilot Coopers)
Bromley is much much better. A little inconvenient for me to get to because Croydon is my nearest branch, but given the service I received it's worth the extra travel
From the time you enter the car park - great service. The guy who assists cars in the car park - courteous
The reception desk - courteous and genuine (unlike Croydon)
The person at the service desk - Lucy - courteous and genuine (unlike Croydon). Good manners, great customer service, lovely to deal with
Got a lift to Bromley South Station by Matthew. Lovely guy; had a nice chat with him
I was told by Lucy that the parts for the recall should be in stock and that my car should be ready by 5.00pm the same day
Reece was the person allocated to to take care of my needs. I had his card which included the main 'phone number and his personal e-mail address
I called at around 3.00pm to check the status and ETA of my car. I couldn't get through despite trying 3 times. So I called another Stephen James branch (chosen at random - Enfield) who put me through to Bromley. Bromley said there was a fault with their switchboard, but I am not going to drop a star because of this. I spoke to Reece who coincidentally was trying to call me when I was trying to call him (he left me a voicemail as evidence of this), and said the car won't be ready the same day because a part was not in stock. Slight inconvenience for me but not the end of the world
I had other queries, but because of the fault with the switchboard, I e-mailed Reece instead. I was pleasantly surprised at how quick he was to reply! Then I had another query slightly later - again, a quick reply. It was almost like Instant Messaging with Reece - very quick
Collected my car the next day. It was cleaned inside and (unlike Croydon who said they would clean it). I was presented with a small gift because of the inconvenience of my car not being ready the same day (note that the gift has not swayed my decision to give a 5 star rating)
All-in-all a pleasant experience. This branch should be used as a template for other branches. Croydon should be shut down and these guys should take it over to turn it around
worst ever had experience with BMW…
worst ever had experience with BMW Enfield repair center today.
i booked in for service some other repair work at service center. the first contact Tim was not happy to serve us and he doesn't want to make eye contact on us . i felt like he treated us like bargaining for fish in the fish market.
my appoint was booked for 10.00 am .after we felt so bad about the service due to the attitude and bad behavior , we wanted to speak to his line manager but was told that the manager is not available to meet and asked to wait for a while . we waited for more than 45 minutes to see manger and we had another appointment to attend somewhere else we approached the reception desk to speak to another manager but the response was they could not locate the manager.we finally end up cancelling the booking due to the manager's approach as he was supporting his colleague without admitting the mistake.
i will never ever visit this services center.
Woolwich Franchise ... AVOID
Tried to buy a used car from the Woolwich showroom and at the beginning it was diffIcult to get through on the phone and I kept being cut off, that was a warning sign but I ignored it. I live a considerable distance away and was happy to buy from a video of the car and when this was sent we agreed a deal over the phone. We also agreed a price for my px (fairly low actually as I got 2k more elsewhere on a similar deal) And I travelled the 4 hours to finalise the paperwork. When I arrived again it didn’t feel like the BMW experience I’ve had elsewhere, slow at reception had to wait to see the sales guy, no drink offered (made my own in the end) Anyway the crux came when the used car manager looked at my car and came back to say the tyres as they were not run flats all needed changing and i was going to have to pay £1400 on top of the considerable sum I was already paying (50k car)
Then there was a load of spiel about BMW policy and road traffic laws it was embarrassing tbh as none of it was true. If the tyres were so important then why not clarify before I drove the 200 miles to finalise the deal? The maths are done on px’s and expectations are made on the conditions of these cars. Any dealer that wants clarification asks before offering the price. I was only asked the mileage and if I had 2 keys. My car was in good condition And the tyre thing felt very much like sharp practice. Get someone in and then extort more money. A terrible experience from what looks and feels like a terrible franchise. I’ve written a detailed letter to the UK MD of BMW detailing my experience.
Have had some good experiences here
Have had some good experiences here. things have slipped a little in recent times. Don't get me wrong, the work they undertake will always be to an exceptionally good standard.
Unfortunately, they don't always get the customer service right. From my experience, when they mess up they fix it well.
So in summary, I would recommend, but they do need to improve the communication and organisation
Unwelcoming Attitude!!!
The Service Receptionist at Ruxley was unwelcoming, abrupt, and boarding rude. I went there out of loyalty for my 1st MOT, never again, I shall go elsewhere. Unhelpful couldn't careless attitude, was more interested in speaking with a colleague about a wedding dress fitting!!
