Terrible website for newbie developers
When ever I ask any question it always get downvoted and eventually blocked even though it is not duplicate. Eventually I was blocked from asking any more question, I mean what the hell??
If you guys won't fix this problem you will be replaced, I can assure you
Full of arrogant hostile people
Excellent
Stack Overflow has really helped me on my programming journey so far. I've learned many things from people who answered my questions and I've also managed to help some people myself!
Insupportable !
Tout le temps des critiques sur la façon de poser des questions, plutôt que de répondre vraiment aux questions posées !... C'est insupportable !
if you wanna get mentally abused for asking a question, this is the website for you
This is the worst website ever for coding help, bad beginner support, Rude people, they downvote you for no reason and start bullying you for "not making a question right" even though you took every step, stupid as heck knowitalls, i do not recommend, never try asking questions on it unless you wanna get mentally abused. terrible, 1/10 just because i can find some answered questions that help a tad bit
Every time I have used Stack Overflow
Every time I have used Stack Overflow, I have received incredibly unhelpful or arrogant comments, which tend to be quite passive-aggressive. And for most questions they just close and shut down because they think they know what they are talking about despite not answering what I asked correctly, they just assume without reading the description of the question. Just don't waste your time.
Stack Overflow: I Recommend It to Nobody
I would recommend it to nobody it has so many mean critics, and if it is not a good question they will literally close it and shut it down.
i cant live without
Mods are hostile toward non hardcore devs
I really tried to communicate positively with Stackoverflow but they seem rude toward non hardcore developers. They see only the world in their own eyes.
I posted some open-discussion questions. My question was rapidly downvoted, commented by mods, and they even edited my messages that don't please them.
I don't understand their mentality. They try to teach you "how to ask" rather than help you, and even when some normal person tries to help they delete the question after all the humiliation.
Just try to post your question there and you'll see what I'm talking about..
P.S : I posted my same question in other forum (I asked about a method to get stocks prices from the internet into my database) and got easily direct and helpful answers in minutes.
Beginners are downvoted and silenced
If you ask for help they just downvote you. You're expected to know everything already and there is no room for beginners or less smart people who wish to learn new things. So if you ask a question they will just downvote your topic, and if you put a comment to express the problem they just delete your comment to silence you.
So only people who already know something will get upvoted and receive "badges" or whatever.
The other problem is that you will express your question using your own choice of words, but they have a system of editing by random people. So some guy who doesn't understand your problem will come in, change the meaning, and spoil your post. Then you have to go back in and edit it all again.
It's a shame that everything revolves around this terrrible site because it's cruel and vindictive. There are very few coding forums out there now with regular use because of it.
For instant answers Stack Overflow's focused Q&A is best!
After many years of using discussion forums to try and find answers to technical questions, I came across the focused Q&A format of Stack Overflow and its Stack Exchange sites. Nowadays whenever I have a question they are the first place I go. Often I find an answer instantly because the same question has been asked and answered before. If not, I ask my question in a clear and focused way and usually get an answer in a few hours to a few days.
Stack Overflow and every other Stack Exchange is t r a s h
How do I say this...LITERAL GODDAMN TRASH DO NOT GO TO THIS WEBSITE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is full of knowitalls and people who think downvoting is funny.Like on Chemistry specifically(which is even one of the better SE's) I would post a question that isn't too good of a question. Then I edited it to make it nice ,and guess what I GOT MORE DOWNVOTES!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like only 1% of people here actually have some sense and help. They just downvote and claim to have useful answers that basically get 20 upvotes while mine gets -5 votes, and another person posts it and gets 10 upvotes ,and you have to search thoroughly to ask on Stack Exchange? What if you don't have the time yet? What if a test is like in 2 hours and you don't have time to pour over research for multiple hours or even days?!?!? Good luck going there it's fu*king bulls*it
Those fuc___kers downgrade instantly…
Those fuc___kers downgrade instantly every question I had, the moderators asked idiotic question instead of replying and solving things.
I got answers and help from 1 every 100 people in there.
I wish them the best and to find the help I got from them.
best site for programming problems
Stack Overflow is exactly what everyone…
Stack Overflow is exactly what everyone says it is. A toxic place full of bully moderators who are ONLY interested in stroking their own ego. Its nothing but a bunch of DBags closing questions they deem too noobish and blasting those that are not 20year IT vets. I cant wait for them to get competition so stack overflow will be nothing left except the toxic trash that runs the place.
Rude on a Whole 'Nother Scale
Rude users, ruder moderators (glorified bullies), resulting in an almost totally unhelpful community.
If S.O. had a proverbial door mat, it would not say "WELCOME."
It would say "GET OUT."
It is a company where the workers are…
Stack Overflow has become in the last 6-7 years a company where the workers are mere enthusiasts obsessed with unreal points.
Users with 5K-20K reputation constantly come to disparage and downvote, closing posts without justification. Meanwhile, those with 100K-300K points have become lazy and disinterested, letting ego cloud their judgment. They ignore how their actions are poisoning the community, surrounded by newbies who haven't even finished their training.
Meanwhile, users with 800K-1M points do their job, and many have left. Some due to retirement or old age, others because they can't stand the toxic environment that reigns in Stack Overflow today.
It doesn't matter how well written a post is. The crucial thing is:
Who posts it: if you have a lot of points, they will respond even if you write in Aramaic.
Make it easy to understand: anything that generates debate or goes outside the educational context will be closed for lack of understanding or intelligence, which I call pure ignorance.
Closing a well-written post for lack of professionalism or culture makes Stack Overflow what its name suggests: a true "Stack Overflow", if you will pardon the redundancy.
The criticisms on Trustpilot come from those who have complained about the elitism of points outside the platform. If you dare to complain, your posts will not receive upvotes; only a few moderators and point collectors will take it upon themselves to discredit you, often supported by their friends to put 'dislikes'.
I've made some screens in case they delete it:

People are very rude
People are very rude, when you spend time on asking a question they think its funny to downvote. With the result of my account being locked for 2 days and not able to get any more answers on my question. Garbage
Don't ever create profile on this page
Don't ever create profile on this page. It is completely useless, you need reputation to post vote or comment and you earn reputation by commenting. But wait, you can't comment if you haven't got any reputation so profile is completely useless and has imbecilic system
WORST WEBSITE: STACK OVERFLOW
I got help from THOUSAND of other website but never from Stack Overflow. Still google showing these links on the top of the page whenever searching some academic solution. worst WEBSITE ( also STACHEXCHANGE)
