Nice selection of sponges
Nice selection of sponges although I did find the carrot cake a bit dry.
The apple cake was especially moist and very tasty,

Two delicious cakes
Two delicious cakes were unfortunately delivered by a driver who could not clearly see the packaging was marked to keep boxes upright!
One cake survived as packaging very robust but one looked a bit worse for wear.
I contacted them to advise and their customer service was amazing and I will now be able to get a replacement as and when it suits me.
I’d definitely be using them again in the future as frankly the cakes are nearly the same as I usually make myself and a lot less hassle !

I placed an order on 5th July for a delivery date of 13th July (Actual Birthday). Guessed what? The cake arrived on 14th July after 9 pm!!!! Communicating with Sponge support is so painful and useless; all they did was apologise for this and that, but no actual action, and they kept claiming that for urgent or important deliveries I should place an order 3 days in advance.
According to your Delivery Policy,
"5.4 Our delivery service is not available on certain days or public holidays. We may be able to deliver on weekends upon request, for which there will be a charge in addition to our standard delivery charges. Where orders have been placed for delivery on any of these dates we will endeavour to deliver within 3 working days after the date requested."
Hellooooo, 5th to 13th ...6 days!
13th July is not a weekend or Bank Holiday or any form of holiday in the UK.
You engaged a courier that cannot deliver your service; you are 100% responsible. Not the courier service provider.
Just in case, I'm in Singapore; I ordered a cake for my hubby's 60th, hubby in the UK, as a surprise.
This is definitely a surprise/ disgust!!!

We are very sorry to hear that you are left feeling so frustrated following your ordering experience, and communication with our team.
I can see that we have already previously explained our ordering processes to both yourself and your husband to offer you reassurance, and have tried to express our sincerest apologies for all of your disappointment and inconvenience caused, and we regret that we cannot come to a solution that is satisfactory.
Whilst we do appreciate that you placed your order a couple of weeks ago, scheduled for delivery on the day of your occasion, 13/07, the guidance on our website specifically mentions allowing additional time for delivery to take place.
You placing your order on the 5th of July, is not relevant to this timeline, and you would have received a pop up at the checkout page, advising you to select a delivery date of 12/07, which you had to manually reject to proceed with your order.
As previously discussed, we have already flagged your delay both internally, and with the courier, however, in line with our policy, should your order not meet your requested delivery date, we will ensure delivery is made the following day, which we can see has been the case on this occasion.
We do again, apologise for your disappointment, and for any misunderstanding regarding our delivery guidelines, but do hope that your husband was able to enjoy our delicious pinata cake, albeit a day later than planned.

What an absolute disaster
What an absolute disaster. My wife placed an order a week ahead of time for delivery of a cake for a 60th Birthday. Not only did you fail to deliver the cake on time, it was actually left on the doorstep at 9:30pm a day late. And to top it all off I was able to track the cake and it spent 4 day in a delivery warehouse, so its at least 5 days old. The question I have is, is it even edible or will I get food poisoning if I try it

We are sorry to hear that your order arrived a day later than planned. We do sincerely appreciate how disappointing that experience is, and I can see that we have already logged this matter both internally, and with the courier to review.
Having taken a look into your order, I can see that this was requested for delivery on 13/07/26.
As per the courier service requested, we dispatched your order from us on 12/07 on a Next Day Service provided by Amazon Shipping.
We can see from here that your order made its usual route to their central depot in Milton Keynes, before swiftly moving on to a closer depot on your route, where it was unfortunately then delayed.
We can assure you that within this period, your order is being held in air conditioned facilities, within our safe and secure packaging, designed especially for transit in mind.
Your order then made it out onto the following days deliveries, resulting in your order being delivered a day late, on 14/07.
As per the Delivery Policy outlined on our website, should an order not meet the requested delivery date, we will ensure that delivery is made the following working day, which has been the case on this occasion.
As advised on our website, we always request that our customers schedule the delivery ahead of time, allowing additional time for the order to arrive to avoid any inconvenience caused by delays in transit. We also have a disclaimer, letting you know that deliveries can take any place between 8am - 8pm, and occasionally even later during busy periods.
We know that throughout the heatwave, a number of our couriers have been opting for later delivery windows, to prevent being out while the heat is at the days peak.
Having checked the batch number for your order, we can see that this has a Best Before date of 20/07/26, meaning you still have plenty of time to enjoy your delicious Pinata!
Should your order look to be compromised in any way, or taste - you are welcome to reach out to our team on help@sponge.co.uk, where we will be happy to rectify this accordingly for you!
We do once again sincerely apologise for your delayed delivery, but hope that you are able to enjoy your order, albeit a day later than planned!

Brilliant cake
Brilliant cake, so tasty, not dry at all and the right amount of icing. The kids loved the pinata mini smarties surprise in the middle.
