I’ve been using Sons since December and, to be fair, I’ve been happy with what I’ve seen so far. The product itself is good quality, easy to use, and I’ve had no issues with the results.

Where it starts to fall down for me is the pricing model.

Buying direct, the higher cost is clearly positioned as being justified by the added advice, guidance, and aftercare that comes with the subscription. That’s understandable in principle, and it’s part of what initially made me comfortable signing up.

However, in reality, I’m not convinced that level of support is actually there in a way that justifies the price. The experience hasn’t felt particularly personalised or ongoing enough to explain such a significant premium.

What really made me question it was checking prices elsewhere before renewing. The exact same products — not alternatives or different versions — are being sold through their Amazon store for significantly less. For example, the shampoo is listed at £66 on the Sons website, yet you can buy both the shampoo and conditioner together for around £21 on Amazon.

I actually cancelled my subscription and was offered 40% off to stay, but even with that discount, it still worked out more expensive than simply buying the same products on Amazon.

The cancellation process itself didn’t help either. It’s far from straightforward, and once you finally find the right area, you’re met with repeated “are you sure?” prompts that feel excessive. It gives the impression that cancelling is being made deliberately difficult rather than clear and transparent.

At that point, it becomes difficult to understand what you’re actually paying for when going direct. If the added value is advice and aftercare, it needs to be clearly felt and consistently delivered — otherwise the price difference just feels excessive.

I understand that companies can price differently across platforms, but the scale of the gap here doesn’t sit comfortably and, if I’m honest, it does affect trust.

So overall — I can’t fault the product itself, but the pricing structure and cancellation experience make it hard to justify staying on a subscription.

Really love the shampoo and conditioner duo, made me feel so much stronger and shiny since I’m using it! Also love the package looks very cool!

I got my biotin which I was taking daily. I had no side effects and my hair got some improvement

The subscription is not worth the hassle. Boots sell all Sons treatments, they are more expensive, but I have peace of mind to know my money is under my control and not Sons.

Sons hair care products were absolutely new for me but really impressed with the results. The conditioner I have been using for a few days is so good. It leaves the hair so smooth and shinny. Love the smell. Very happy.

Sons shampoo and conditioner always makes my hair feel much thicker and healthier than other shampoos plus hair loss is always a concern and I notice using sons product it’s almost stopped all hair loss

Thank you to the team at Sons for sending me over a trial of there biotin pills to try , the pills are quite big initially but they do go down , it’s hard to say it there working yet as it’s early days but appreciate the easyness of ordering them and the customer service has been top notch

I was kindly given a free sample of their hair thickening clay and have used it for a couple of weeks and I’m loving it so far, it’s easy to work with in the hair and has great texture a little goes a long way. It washes out with ease and does exactly what it says so overall it’s a really good product and will purchase another when this one runs out! Thankyou.

My husband said he is having a positive experience with the thickening clay.
Thinning on top, this allows him to bulk out area she’s self conscious about. Don’t get me wrong he states it’s not a miracle but it’s given him a boost and will continue to use.

Productwise, they seem legit but they follow the market trend inflating all success stories, which is nowadays expected and not the reason for the poor rating. No, you wont magically gain hair, yes, there may be some stability after a year of use.

The issue is with their webpage and subscription policy. After you join using their promos, it will take you a while to find how to cancel you subscription and when you do, the quoted price for the subscription plan is the PREVIOUS discounted price, there is no way to see the actual renewal price until you are actually charged (all their emails and reminders have no prices!). This is perfect for them because you are shown a wrong price and the minute you see the charge in your bank account, the product is already send and you can't request a refund because most of their products are prescribed...

After chasing this for a week, they partially refunded me subscription, and along gained that second start.

That is my experience and I will now be looking at one of the multiple other alternatives.

Upon receiving the Biotin product from Sons.Co, I had no problems with the delivery: the product arrived quickly and well-packaged. Regarding the capsules themselves, my husband is using them and, according to him, so far his hair loss has improved. I also think it has reduced hair loss because when I clean the bathroom I notice that there are very few strands of his hair scattered around, whereas before there was a lot. I believe this is a good sign, or rather, the capsules are starting to work. We see it as promising and are thinking of continuing with the capsules for a longer treatment and also complementing it with other products from the brand.

Havnt noticed any thickening of my hair yet, if there is an improvement I would increase the score.
