I have purchased several items from Solbari and been happy with them but the white Traveller Broad Brimmed Sun Hat is a dud. The white fabric is quite thin and if it is wet I doubt will offer the SPF5... Vis mer

I requested an exchange two weeks ago. Returned the items as per instructions and have heard nothing since. I have contacted customer service twice to ask for an update and haven't been given one. I was told the person covering the USA was on holiday. Not much use when I'm based in the UK! I expect a 4-5 day turnaround on exchanges but not this long with no follow-up. I'm really disappointed because the tops I ordered won't arrive in time for my holiday now. I won't be using Solbari again sadly.
Solbari asked me to review their face and neck gaiter product I purchased - which I did but -surprise surprise - it hasn't appeared on their site.
Don't waste your money on this overpriced scrap of material. The face gaiter does not stay on the face as per their info and photos. I recently had surgeries removing BCCs from my face including skin grafts and I'm paranoid about getting sun burnt. I thought I'd invest in getting a SPF50 face cover that gave my face that added protection. It immediately worked it's way off my nose no matter how many times I replaced it or adjusted it. It is totally useless for face protection!!

Very naughty to have a UK store set up and not inform that it is shipped internatioanally from Aus. It gives the deliberate impression that you are odering from a UK warehouse. Even states Royal mail at check out but does not specify international that it will be coming from so far. I would not have bought if I had have known due to the air miles for one product.
Awful customer service. No UK phone contact. Emails all replied to from Australia with generic messages - very frustrating given the time zone differences.
After waiting weeks for hat to arrive from Australia, it needed to be exchanged (my choice admittedly). Three weeks later, still no acknowledgement of receipt of return (I adhered to their instructions to return to Solbari UK address ) and no sign of replacement or refund.
I misread their email to me about the resolution for the wrong items arriving, so hopefully will go forward with their original suggestion now, so it was a bit of a mix up so I am hoping this will be resolved in the next day or two, as I am happy with the resolution they offered a few weeks ago. If it doesn't work out I'll let you know.
Absolutely FAULTLESS way above average sun protection hats and sunbrella. Customer service, quick delivery and prices faultless and reasonable. Sizing advice perfect, as are (true to colours on website) colour choices. Essential intelligent products for climate change induced fierce heatwaves in UK, now too recurrent - true sun protection of this quality non existent in UK high street shops. Shocking customer service experience. Ordered sun umbrella on 30th May with 6 to 8 working days delivery. Tracking details has shown to be in Mascot, Australia since 31st May with no update. I keep getting same automated response ( delivery 6 to 8 working days) when emailing for more details. Now 15th June and packed has still not been delivered.
No idea when to expect delivery of my order.
Firstly the item took far longer to arrive than scheduled. But my greatest concern is the fact that I am unsure as to whether or not I am able to SAFELY wear the Two Wide Brimmed Sun Hats just received. They are meant to be specifically made to protect one from the Suns Rays and as such claim that they are 'UPF50' standard. But on examination I find that the actual 'Head' (Not the Brim) seems to be made only of a flimsy thin material.
I have 'Solar Keratosis' which is my own fault for being silly when I was younger over many years and not always putting on Sun Cream of the 50 variety. So I now realise, be it too late, that I am at a crossroads whereby the Keratosis 'Could' turn into Skin Cancer if I am not absolutely careful.
I have tried e-mailing them regarding the late delivery but not received any reply from them as yet. There is no Telephone number to be found either, so there is little point in sending another request or report to them. However what I can add that ever since the original purchase I keep receiving e-mails about their 'Special Offer's every single day. So someone is there. If they are and can read this, please contact me on the phone number I have given. I simply cannot take the risk and as they cost £66 for the 2 Hats a little help would be appreciated.
I have just edited this in as much as I changed it from a 1 Star to a 3 Stars as in all fairness I must at least give them a chance to reply especially as the Hats do seem fine except for that thin material mentioned.
The items I purchased last year and have used have generally been a satisfactory quality, but the arm covers do not stay put, they keep rolling down. I would like to order the tops, because I am taking medication which increases the chance of skin cancer, but guess what? According to Solbari people larger than 14-16 (XL) don’t need protection against skin cancer! I sent an e-mail asking why the sizes excluded larger people (18-20) and the response was ”Oh we would never make them in that size!”
Today I received an e-mail about a new lightweight coverall. Great, I thought, that’s just what I need, but no, still only available in too-small sizes.
After 4 months with my hat I noticed the Elastic at the back had frayed after nominal wearing.Contacted Solbari with photos of the problem and they refused to Replace it or Refund it.There response was it was caused by wear and tear.At $60.The hat has not met my expectations and I could not recommend this product.A hat is designed to be used Regulary and put on and off.
Bought several “Elite” sleeves as Christmas gifts. Expensive, more than $50/pair. Kept a pair and after one, possibly two uses in April (onset of short sleeve weather) the seams came apart (the seams are glued not stitched). Sent pictures and PO # to Solbari and was told this was normal “wear and tear.”
My package wasn’t delivered because apparently my house didn’t exist (I am sitting in it right now). This was three weeks ago. No replacement shipment has been made. I have been told the other package has to arrive back at the warehouse first. How is that my fault? Very frustrating.
Bought some sunglasses. They arrived slightly crooked (possibly because they were shipped internationally in just the case and an envelope - not even a bit of bubble wrap) and were also incredibly cheap feeling - not anywhere near worth the $100 they cost. Very disappointed. I've noticed that the negative review I put on their website has disappeared - don't believe the reviews on the website!
I purchased swim leggings to protect me from the sun but after wearing them they caused a huge skin rash on me. I asked for a refund but they refused even though the product did not fulfill its purpose - to protect my skin. They think they’re above Australian consumer rights and do not give refunds to anyone after wearing which should be irrelevant and how am I supposed to check if they work or not?
I got the long sleeve women’s polo shirt ultra sensitive. It’s well designed but the quality is not great, it started to thin out after a few months and within a year has multiple small holes and is discoloured around the neck. I contacted solbari and was surprised by their blunt response. They did not care and there was no offer of a replacement. For the price, I would expect these to last years. Very unsustainable.
Product developed holes in it after just a handful of used. I’ve left a review on their website, and they posted a public reply saying to contact them. But they refused to do anything about it. Not durable and not worth your money.
12/28/22, ordered womens ultra wide brim cotton hat, rec 1/16/23. Packaging, horrible, hat was not in plastic bag, brim was very creased each side, unable to wear out of pckg. all it would have took in to place in cardboard form so brim was not distroyed, fabric is cheap. hat is nothing like the photos they show. I would give no stars. won't buy from company ever again. won't reccomend
Love the swimming hat (received as gift). Buckle broke 1st use, reported this to Solbari and they refused to repair, accept a return or even send a replacement buckle. Disinterest in providing post purchase support was disappointing
Purchased a Solibari Bucket hat - not cheap but looked good quality.
10 weeks after purchasing I used it for a trek across Jordan.
After minimal use on the trek the lining stitching started becoming undone over about 5cm.
Contacted Solibari customer services on my return- with a photo of the defect.
Their simple response was that it was past the 30 days after purchase date so “tough”.
Laughingly they did say they would pass the info to the product team to make sure it didn’t happen again.
In summary poor quality control in manufacturing, backed up by a useless 30 day warranty from purchase, supported by a dismissive customer service response.
Buy from them at your peril!
Words couldn't possibly express how worried I was to order from SOLBARI after reading the numerous negative reviews. So concerned was I, that I even called my credit-card company and was very close to calling the charge a fraud... But I decided to roll the dice and see if I would get my order.
I placed my order on the 11th of September and received it on the 14th!! I was EXTREMELY surprised at how quickly my order of 15 items arrived in Salt Lake City Utah — All the way from Australia! I recieved promp shipping notices from the beginning of my order, all the way to delivery on my door.
My family and I are going to Turks and Caicos in October, and to Maldives for Christmas, and we were in desperate need of new swimshirts/leggings. I wish to sing high praise of the materials of choice Solbari uses! The shirts are VERY VERY soft, and feel extremely light weight. I love that I don't feel hot and constricted as I have in other such similar apparel — these things are almost comfortable enough to sleep in!
I'm writing this review as assurance to other consumers... I was very apprehensive about my purchase — I spent over $1,300.00 dollars, HOWEVER, I could not be any more pleased with the speed of delivery, and the seeming high quality wear of everything I purchased! I would absolutely recommend Solbari, and will absolutely be purchasing more in the future!
