Sitters has been a godsend at a time i needed some respite dealing with my hyperactive son. The child carers are all very experienced and hands on fulfilling their commitments, my number 1 go to for child care from now on. thank you sitters.

Sitter was excellent. Definitely will try to rebook with her. But payment through the app was a problem. Needed to chase main sitters team to get payment sorted as app being set up. Hopefully next time should be smoother

I have been paying my membership for about one year now.
As a widowed parent I always felt calm thinking I could count on them to find me a sitter when I very rarely need one.
Well, I needed a sitter and my job was posted on the platform for more than 2 weeks. No sitter accepted the job and there was basically Zero communication from them.
I emailed twice asking about refunds on my membership when they were unable to find me a sitter, because after all that’s what I pay them for - to find me a trustworthy sitter when I need it. But no, they said no refunds given.
So it’s a bit bizarre that as a mum I pay for a membership, but when I need them to find me a sitter they just don’t find me one and don’t even offer a refund for the services I have paid for but not received.
Unfortunately I shall be asking on my local Facebook page from now on, as sitters.co.uk let me down big time.

We used Sitters for years and were always happy - unfortunately has crashed downhill this year. Sitters charged me a £17.95 "membership fee" back in July. New higher rate, and first charge in 9 months, so was very surprised that they hadn't emailed beforehand to advise that they'd be taking the payment or that it would be at this new higher rate. I emailed back to complain, request a refund and ask for membership to be terminated. Got an automated email acknowledging my message, but never heard back beyond that. 3 months later and they've just taken the payment again. So unimpressed - especially given that the last time we tried to book through them, back in the spring, the sitter bailed at very short notice. Now having to raise unauthorised payment dispute with bank. Not worth the hassle - would definitely advise going with a different firm.

Baby sitter cancelled last minute so contacted sitters. Website was easy to use and ratings were helpful. Amelia stepped in at short notice and the kids loved her. She was friendly, responsible and even tided up when the kids were in bed. I think we've found our new sitter. Five stars from me.

I have been a loyal Sitter for so many years, then all of a sudden they change the format. The App sends jobs that do not appear in the offer page. And then when you finally get a job the payment takes 5 days plus, actually not sure how long as payment still hasn't arrived and yet the parents hit payout the same evening. The lack of updates and support from Sitters is my most disappointing moment, no reassuring messages and general updates to reassure Sitters and Parents at this hand over time, which makes me believe these issues are here to stay. It is horrible to see so many reviews from both parents and sitters now, as this was once a great company to be a part of.

I have been sitting through sitters for 5 years and it’s fabulous. I have met some lovely families.
However I agree with another reviewer/sitter the payments take ages to come through. Parents pay directly through the app, but is takes over 5 days for the money to arrive into the sitter bank account and they have been the one who’s been working! A bank transfer is quick and easy (why change a perfectly good system!) never in my time with sitters have I had a problem. As the other reviewer below I don’t understand why you hold onto our money????!!!! gaining interest on it in the mean time?
This should be priority to be sorted out!

I have been working for sitters the last two years. I went to over 200 families and although most of them wanted me to go back I hardly ever got the same family again. They don't trust us. Sometimes parents had to call them that they want me.I was wondering what happened to all those families. I often struggled to find jobs through them, then I met families on the street saying I have been busy and I wasn't. Their new system is very upsetting. It was told we will be paid right away, hassle free. I did a job a week ago almost and I'm still not paid for it. I wrote them about it a couple of times but I never received an answer back. It is not possible since there is no 'mails' in the application. The number they gave us nannies is 'unrecognised'. When the parent called them about my payment, she was able to reach them. They said they already paid me. Not true. Notifications about good jobs are keep coming in but when you tap on them they disappear. The actual 'job offers' are very few and in times I'm not available. 'Availability' doesn't work. Parents can cancel the job even an hour before, so you give up your plans, might be already there so you are not late and not able to find an other one or make other plans. Over the years I had a huge amount of cancellation. That is perfectly fine. I only cancelled once, when I had a bike accident then the system made a mistake, I pressed decline but it accepted a job I couldn't go to. I lost right away from my 5 stars one. I never got it back although all my reviews were great. I know parents like me. I find they treat parents great because they pay and I heared from other nannies working for them too that they were unfairly treated.
I can't work for them any more if I don't get my payment right away like it was promised and I have to wait over a week.? The parent paid me at the spot, spike keeps it? Then I have to beg them for it and they don't even get back to me about it. Also, they said the cash free system will be hassle free.
Not true either. How should I take new jobs if I still haven't been paid for something still in past tense.
I'm wondering how many nannies were not paid yet still....very sad.

As a long time Sitter for Sitters I am extremely disappointed in the new app. Parents are now able to pay directly through the app, which is fine if it didn’t take 6 days for the money to arrive in the Sitters bank account!! A bank transfer takes minutes, I don’t understand why you hold onto our money for 6 days, gaining interest on it in the mean time!
Please can this be sorted, I have always enjoyed and been proud of being part of the Sitters team but this is a massive let down.

Very disappointed with the new app. I live in London but I am being sent sitters who do not even live anywhere near me. This has resulted in sitters arriving late for the booking because they are having to travel over 17 miles to me. I have contacted my regular sitters, both of whom have informed me that they accepted my bookings but the bookings were deemed “unavailable.” The old service, in my opinion worked better because bookings were sent out to all the sitters. Now, it appears that bookings only go out to a selected few. I do not feel comfortable leaving my child with someone who does not have a proven track-record of at least 5 years with sitters. It’s ridiculous to send me a sitter who lives 17 miles away from me for a 4 hour booking when it took her 3.5 hours just to travel to me on a one way journey. That’s 7 hours journey for a 4 hour booking. Her travel ticket must have cost more than the 4 hour payment. Sitters claim they are not direct employers however they set the rates to a maximum of £14.70 per hour not the sitter.
I had to cancel 2 sitters because one was too far away and the other too expensive. I was charged £12 in cancellation fees. Terrible.
I have cancelled my subscription.

It was working fine with a set rate that we knew in advance until recently when they changed it to allow sitters to charge whatever they want. There's no way to filter to the cost you're willing to pay either.
Well, it was a convenience to begin with to have a sitter and now no way forward but to cancel my membership. Good job screwing yourselves over sitters!

The new platform is awful. It matches us with the sitter on the not for us list so I cancelled it because I really don’t that sitter. But I have to pay £5 per cancellation. Then I made a new booking and they forced me to match with a sitter who is highly expensive so I have to pay another £5 for cancellation. When I called they apologized for the inconvenience and will refund it but I still don’t get a refund. Terrible service.

Our family used this service while visiting London and we couldn’t recommend it enough. The process was incredibly easy and we were always paired with an amazing sitter very soon following our requests - and we had a couple last minute ones too! Everyone that watched our two kids was amazing.
