We’ve been using ScrapingDog for several months now and it’s honestly been a great experience. The service does exactly what it says it will, and it’s been very reliable for pulling Google Maps / Places data at scale.

What really stands out for us is the support. On the rare occasions we’ve had questions or run into edge cases, their online chat team has been quick to respond and genuinely helpful. Issues are dealt with fast, without the usual back-and-forth you get with a lot of tools in this space.

The API itself is stable, easy to work with, and well suited to real production use rather than just small tests. Once set up, it runs smoothly in the background and saves a huge amount of time.

Overall, ScrapingDog has become a core part of our stack, and we’re very happy with both the product and the support behind it.

ScrapingDog offers highly competitive pricing, making it an affordable option for non-professional or low-stakes projects. However, the service suffers from noticeable instability and occasional inaccuracies in the scraped data.
The most significant issue lies with their customer support. Responses are frequently unhelpful or evasive. When I inquired about inconsistent or unexpected results, the support team often dismissed the matter by stating that the data originates from Google and they have no control over it. On occasions when I reported clear bugs or technical issues, the replies were minimal—typically along the lines of “we will fix it later”—with no follow-up or resolution provided, even after waiting several months.
Overall, the support team appears primarily focused on encouraging additional payments rather than addressing legitimate concerns or improving the service.

Service worked well. Customer service was extremely quick and always helpful.

I cancelled my account and requested refunds for two months I did not use (November and December). Instead of handling this like a normal SaaS business, with a clear review of usage and a fair resolution, support repeatedly deflected responsibility and escalated the tone.

Here’s what happened:

I stated I had not used the service and asked for refunds for Nov and Dec (I only used it in October).
Support’s initial response was essentially “cancel it from the dashboard,” with no meaningful engagement on the refund request.
When I followed up, the response shifted to blaming the customer (“you should have cancelled your subscription before”) and pointing me to their terms.
They then offered to refund only one month while refusing the other, despite my clear statement that I hadn’t used the service during those billing periods.
When I mentioned leaving a review, the agent responded with “are you threatening us?” an unprofessional, defensive reaction that says a lot about how they treat dissatisfied customers.
I was left with the choice of accepting a partial refund or pursuing a dispute.

This is not how trustworthy companies behave. Billing mistakes or misunderstandings happen but reputable vendors handle them with transparency, basic customer care, and a willingness to correct issues. In my experience, this company does the opposite: they minimize the problem, shift blame, and apply pressure while acting indignant when you say you’ll share your experience publicly.

If you’re considering using this service, understand the risk: if you get billed when you aren’t using it, don’t expect professional support or a fair resolution. Choose a provider with customer service that treats refunds and cancellations like a standard business process, not a confrontation.

I used scrapingdog and had tons of issues. First, their linkedin scraping api was super unreliable. It kept crashing, and consuming credits despite failed api calls. When I spoke to the scrapingdog team, they assured me I would be refunded, however I only received a partial refund. I then had to dispute the remaining amount with my bank, opening a months long process to receive my refund. During this time, the scrapingdog team fabricated evidence that I had used credits (fabricated backend reports) as well as fabricated emails screenshots of me saying "I love the platform, I am going to upgrade" which I never sent.

VISA eventually ruled in my favor, but their founder Manthan, was also abusive over email. When I shared my review previously, they flagged it with trustpilot, getting it removed under false pretenses, as well as left reviews on my company trustpilot review, saying they used my agency services and they had a horrible experience, also fabricated.

They are extremely unethical and willing to retaliate, and break rules, whenever they see fit. I also had these reviews eventually removed from my profile, as they had never actually used my services.

TLDR: these guys are superb. Worth the budget and effort.

Manthan and his team were incredibly responsive, detail-oriented, empathetic and communicative. They set the standard of where post-sales SaaS should be.

Obviously, the product is excellent and works as promised. They will become a core supplier for us based on today's support and results.
