I wanted to share my experience with Propel after owning their electric skateboard, because I think people should know what they’re getting into.

I spent over $1,000 on a Propel board and after only ~55 miles of normal riding, one of the motors stopped working. After working with their support team and following all of their diagnostic steps — including fully disassembling the board and swapping 8 different motor connections — I confirmed that the issue was a failed controller (FOC).

To be clear, this is a core component of the board. This isn’t wear and tear — this is a major failure after extremely minimal use.

Despite providing proof and completing their entire troubleshooting process, Propel refused to replace the controller because it was outside of their warranty period by less than a week. Their only solution was to offer a small 10 % discount on buying a replacement part.

So the reality is:

If your FOC controller fails early, you’re on your own

You’ll be expected to take the board apart yourself

And then pay out of pocket to fix a major component

That’s not what I would expect from a product at this price point.

I gave them multiple chances to make this right, and they chose not to stand behind their product in a meaningful way.

I’m sharing this so others can make an informed decision. Reliability and customer support matter — and based on my experience, Propel fell short on both in a big way

The questions is, is 55 miles of riding your board worth $1000? For me the answer is no chance. I won’t be buying from them ever again. I’d recommend Evolve Electric Skateboards instead as Evolve at least will stand behind their products.

My controller arrived broken. I don't believe it was your fault. I opened the package and the when I turned on the controller, the screen was malfunctioning.

Bonjour je me suis offert le GT3 il y a quelques mois et je peux vous dire que c'est de la bombe c'est un skateboard très étonnant assez polyvalent bonne autonomie je m'éclate vraiment bien avec celui-ci merci à proprel et leur équipe
pour cette invention si je pouvais j'achèterai celui au-dessus le tout terrain.....

After receiving the X4R i was blown away by the entire engineering and technology of this machine. After going through all the fasteners and checking torque. Everything was assembled in perfect shape. My first ride was at night and the lights are awesome.
Thank You for building such a beautiful skateboard ;)

The most amazing customer service I have ever received. This alone is a reason enough to trust these people with your purchases. They go a little further to make sure they satisfy their customers. We need more companies like this

Board, Endevor2 GT was a great on and off road board until FOC went out after 200 hrs. of moderate, mostly paved use. Warranty expired at 6months. which is not long enough for a $1,500 board. Propel was only willing to give me a 6% discount on a $192 part I had to replace myself. Board works again, but I can't recommend it after this failure. I would have been fine with 50% replacement cost, but they refused.Customer service is good and they have great how to videos. That said they should take better care of their customers when expensive parts go bad way too soon! I realize parts go bad, but don't make money off existing customers who must buy the replacement part! Not a happy customer.

Propel a de très bons produits et à un petit prix.

The only problem I had was how hot the charger gets. Customer service explained that it was normal.

Always easy to deal with and always high quality

This company responds to issues you have with fast honest customer service support. They sent me a replacement tail light free of charge. They also offer wear items like grip tape and belts at an affordable price. I used to but Evolve but now I will only buy Propel boards from now on.

It would be nice to have a way to call for some tech support or after sales service. Email only seems a bit fly by night.

The carving and feel of the board are seamless and smooth. High quality materials. Ability to adjust tension on the suspension for your personal weight or riding styles. Delivery was fast. Setup and first ride experiences were breezy. Start slow. Takeoff in the first two modes are very smooth. Modes 3 & 4 get a little more risky. Very quick uphill. Extremely fast on flat surfaces (if you want it to be). Plenty of power on acceleration and upper end speeds. Highly recommend this board. Off road capable. Not gonna handle big objects well.
