Urgent Warning
I made the mistake of trusting some positive reviews on here and sent a midsize Rolex for a small repair. The quote included a service which I decided to decline as the repair is approx £100 but with the service the estimate was approx £700. I had the watch serviced a couple of years ago and decided to get the repair done locally instead. I have been trying to get the watch returned to me for weeks with no success. The excuse is the Royal Mail strikes. I paid £19 for insured return postage on the day I was requested to do so and I have chased them via email numerous times, as it is impossible to actually speak to anyone on the phone.
My only options are to either travel to Manchester from London to try to retrieve the watch of pursue them in the small claims court as I'm getting nowhere.
Don't risk it, with anything you are not prepared to lose.

Very pleased with the repair. The watch, though not valuable, has sentimental value but high street jewellers were not interested in repairing it. Would highly recommend.

Negative service
I sent my watch for a repair estimate. I initially received an estimate for just over £60, I agreed to proceed as this was reasonable and then I received a further estimate for £92! After giving this some thought I declined this estimate and agreed to have my watch returned. When it was returned to me it was in a shocking state. The internal dial of the watch was damaged and also the dials were damaged. On receipt of my watch I took photos and sent these to RBP who were initially apologetic and asked me to return the watch and this would be rectified. After a week there was no response and when I contacted RBP they claimed this was damage caused by Royal Mail. This was despite the fact the packaging it was returned in was perfect with no damage as was the internal packaging. I received a "stock" letter as to how to claim from Royal Mail for the damage caused by RBP, in effect they were trying to shift the blame to Royal Mail for their careless handling of my watch. Despite asking them to return my watch they still have not done so. I would strongly recommend that before considering this repairer look for another company that has an impeccable track record for ensuring your precious watch is returned in good condition. Advised to avoid using their service if you can.

Highly recommend these guys.. I searched every jeweller in Liverpool to have a klaus kobec repaired (the winder had fell off) to no avail, everyone said they don't repair these as they are a complex watch and spares are hard to find the original makers had ceased trading but directed me to repairsbypost. Com, got in touch as a last resort and yesss they said send it to us and we'll give you a quote before we do the work. I was delighted as the watch has sentimental value, got the quote which was very reasonable as they repair fit a new battery and reseal the watch. I was kept informed where I was in the repair queue all along the process, the watch was returned like brand new by special delivery. My husband is over the moon with the outcome. Definitely the best around and great price too

Found these guys online and wasn't sure, but other repairers haven't been able to fix a sentimental watch I had. The process was simple and seemed that transit was well protected. Watch came back working and very clean. It took a while but that doesn't bother me.

The whole process of having a watch repair could not be simpler. The company takes complete control of the process and coupled with computer e mails and updates through the process. Watch returned by post in a secure packaging complete with the replaced parts in a little plastic box. Very impressive and would use them every time

I can’t comment on the quality of repair one may expect from RBP, but assume it can be good reflected in some Trustpilot reports.
I give them only one star based on their customer service, noting that many others concur.
My experience is as follows:
My Rolex Datejust was seawater damaged due to seal failure whilst swimming on holiday. The watch showed water beads and signs of rusting beneath the glass.
Realising it required urgent attention I contacted RBP without delay on return and l was impressed by the speed at which they arranged recorded delivery to their office.
They provided a next day estimate of £1.7k - £4.9k after cursory inspection. I couldn’t afford that so requested an immediate return, after paying their £30 administration charge.
I asked for a valuation of the watch in it’s current state (scrap value) and was told it was worth £0.00 - but that they would accept it as a ‘donation’ if l sent them the box and paperwork - mmmmm - l declined the offer.
On the understanding that the condition of the watch would deteriorate rapidly due to the salt water within, l made enquiries regarding it’s value with another repairer, who showed keen interest.
I informed RBP of the other interest and, as a week had already passed since l paid for the return of my watch, and considering it’s deteriorating condition, l would appreciate their urgent attention to it’s return.
Several days & emails later, including one asking if l had a particular preference for the day it should be returned (?!) RBP have informed me they have ‘shipped’ the watch by Royal Mail and that l should expect tracking details today, 10 days after payment for urgent Recorded Delivery.
In a world of commerce increasingly based on quality & speed of service, customers are entitled to expect better - particularly from a company who’s expertise is based on caring for precision time pieces.
Watching this space for the return of mine - and hoping for the best regarding it’s condition.

You fail to mention my advising you of my deafness- and that all communication should be by email.
A ‘30 minute call’ didn’t take place. You advised (by email) only that you suspect the movement was rusted - no other detail provided, as the watch wasn’t stripped for detailed examination.
You acknowledge my message regarding deafness in your email of
8 Sept, which reads
‘Noted in regard to emailing rather than calls.
We received your watch yesterday, and it is a very poor condition and your movement is rusted.
Before we proceed to a full estimate, we wanted to make you aware of the possible costs before we proceed to a full estimate.
Your repair could be anywhere between £1700 - £4990
If this is acceptable and understandable, please let me know and we can proceed to your full estimate’
- no mention made of hands, face, crown?
I advised you that l was expecting an estimate in the £hundreds not £thousands
The figure £100-£150 is fictitious - and doesn’t appear in my email trail at any point.
I note you’ve subsequently edited your comment to read £100s not £100-£150 as originally stated. You do know an ‘edit trail’ is available don’t you?

Found out about this gem of a watch repairer/watch service provider from reviews left online. They were all positive, which gave me confidence in using them for the first time. Alan Campbell was quick to give me a quote for the repair work, so I packaged my watch carefully and sent it next day recorded delivery. Alan confirmed receipt of my watch and the repair was carried out the next day. Very reasonably priced and unbelievably, the whole experience took only 3 days from me posting to getting the watch back on my wrist again. Certain to use again, high praise is due here.

One minor request was made and this was handled promptly by customer service to my satisfaction.
