From our very first meeting until the day we collected our Volvo, Bryonie provided a level of customer service that was nothing short of outstanding. She was professional, knowledgeable, approachable, patient and incredibly compassionate throughout the entire journey.
As a family, we have been facing some very difficult challenges due to our daughter living with congenital heart disease. Naturally, arranging a new Motability vehicle was another important responsibility during an already stressful period of our lives. Bryonie recognised this straight away and treated us with genuine empathy, understanding and kindness. She never made us feel rushed, she listened carefully, and she always took the time to make sure we understood every step of the process.

I recently bought a used XC90 from Ash Brear at Ray Chapman Motors in Bradford. The team were all very welcoming and did a brilliant job preparing the car in a short time scale. Really pleased with the car. Great customer service and Ash/the team went above and beyond to help. Any queries were quickly sorted and I would highly recommend Ray Chapman Motors to my friends and family.
Huge inconvenience and a filthy car.
I acquired a 4-year-old Volvo XC40 as a company car back in March. After less than two weeks, the car developed a rattle, and the main display stopped working. My local Volvo dealers were very busy and couldn’t fit me in until after the Easter weekend, but I called Ray Chapman Volvo in Bradford on the off chance that they might have availability. The car was booked in for a collection and delivery the day before Good Friday for repair, they didn’t have any courtesy cars available.
On the day of the booking, I was waiting all morning for somebody to collect my car, expecting that it would be a full day job, but it was eventually close to lunch time when somebody turned up. He asked if it was OK to leave his car at the end of my street, though as parking is often limited, I suggested parking on my drive, expecting that it would be collected on the evening. I then received a call from Volvo in the evening, advising that my car would need parts before it could be diagnosed, so I wouldn’t be getting it back until after the long weekend. They didn’t have any courtesy cars available, so I was in the unfortunate position of having to source alternative transportation as everyone was closing down for four days.
On Good Friday, what I thought was the Volvo driver’s vehicle was still parked on my driveway, so I was unable to use it. I called the dealership to be advised that it’s a ‘Dump Car’ which they just leave behind, but I’m unable to use it because I wouldn’t be insured. They did agree to move it from my driveway that evening, but it was then dumped in the street directly opposite my driveway, so I had neighbours complaining at me until it was collected on the Tuesday. There was no further communication on my own vehicle.
I was not in a major rush for the return of the company car as it is desperately uncomfortable and the brakes are horrific. However, I was in a hire vehicle, so called after more than a week to check on the progress, and was advised that the person needed to diagnose the fault was away, so I would have to wait another week. I had to then drive to Bradford to collect some items from my vehicle. At that time, I asked what the service department thought was wrong with it, and was told that it sounded like it was about to blow up.
I chased progress another couple of times, and eventually received a call two days before I was due to go away on holiday to advise that the repairs had been completed. I explained that I did not have time to collect, so it was agreed that I would pick it up on my return. Unfortunately, there seems to be a complete lack of communication, and I was being bombarded with calls from Ray Chapman whilst I was away on holiday.
On my return home, I called to arrange delivery and was offered a slot in 3 weeks’ time. I explained that I need the vehicle back as it is now being returned, and was offered a delivery today, Monday 8th June. I re-arranged my diary to ensure that I would be home for the delivery. Unfortunately, I ended up having to chase this from 9am up until 12.30, when I finally got a call back to advise that the driver was still out so my car would not be returned today. As I need it before Wednesday, my only option would be to make my own way back to Bradford.
I have this afternoon collected the car. It is absolutely filthy, there are stains all over the light grey seats, thick dust in the footwells, the seats, steering wheel and mirrors had all been adjusted and there’s now an extra 100 miles on the clock and no fuel in the tank. In addition, I have no idea what has been done to the car, I was just told that the report will go to the lease company.
In addition to the time that I have wasted here, I now have to pay for a valet before the car is returned on Wednesday. I'm only grateful that as of Wednesday, I won't have a Volvo, because this has not only been one of the worst vehicles that I've ever driven, it has also been the most shocking level of service and customer care that I have experienced of any main dealer.

Great Service at Malton
I live in Northern Ireland and, based on my previous experiences with Ray Chapman's, I bought my XC90 from them 2 years ago whilst on holiday. It was due a service last week and as I was on holiday again in the area I booked it into the Malton branch in preference to having it done at the NI Volvo dealers. The service I received was absolutely first class from the original enquiry to the completion of the job. Norman Hill, the service manager, is very pleasant and took time to explain what work would be done. The technician who did the work left the car in pristine condition. I would not hesitate to make the journey over to England for future work as Chapman's are a company that can be trusted. Well done and thank you to all concerned.
Excellent Volvo service in Malton
Took our Volvo C40 in for service this week, for a while-you-wait service. Good waiting area with excellent free coffee. The service reception lady was very efficient and noted a couple of points I made whilst booking in. The car was promptly driven through to a workshop which is on view from the waiting room. When the service was completed, it was cleaned and valeted to a very good standard. I then got a full run down on the condition of my car and was pleased to note the points I raised were properly addressed. It was a very pleasant overall experience.

My Iphone came out of my pocket and…
My Iphone came out of my pocket and disappeared under the driver's seat. I tried, unsuccessfully to retrieve the phone and so I set off to Ray Chapman Motors at Huddersfield. Jodie on the service desk was helpful and positive when I managed to call in. Obviously if they had had to remove the seat there would have been a charge but the excellent technician (thank you) retrieved the phone and returned it to me with a smile. Thank you everybody - what a relief! Thanks for the coffee!
Perfect Service
I had a fantastic experience with Ray Chapman Volvo in York! Simon was top-notch in communication, always responding the same day and answering every question. He made the process totally smooth, and I felt confident picking up my first electric car. He was incredibly knowledgeable and put me at ease. The part exchange price for my old car was very fair, and he even charged the car up for my long commute home. Five stars all the way! He went out of his way to be accomodating and even came in on his day off for the handover of the car. Thank you, won't think twice before returning here.

1st Service Volvo Xc40 @ Ray Chapman…
I took my Volvo Xc40 to Ray Chapman Volvo Huddersfield today for its 1st service after owning it for a year.
I initially was going to take a loan vehicle but the service assistant said that my car service could be done straight away & would only be 1+½hrs wait so i thought i would wait. I was shown to the waiting area & was provided with a coffee & said to help myself to another if I wanted one.
I was kept informed throughout my wait on the status of vehicle, there was a slight wait but this was down to my vehicle downloading the software updates.
Once everything was complete my car was given a complimentary wash & vacuum which i wasn't expecting.
I was stlightly embarrassed as the 1st time i had to take it in for its service & it wasn't looking too clean inside (grandchildren).
The person who cleaned/valeted my car did a 1st class job & i would like to say a BIG THANK YOU & im SORRY it was bad.
From when I arrived to when I left this morning the customer experience was fantastic,all the staff where friendly & polite, I highly recommend Ray Chapman Volvo Huddersfield.

We recently purchased a Volvo XC40 online through Chapman Motors Huddersfield and had it delivered, and Sij made the entire process seamless. Buying a car remotely can feel daunting, but he was incredibly responsive, transparent, and informative at every stage. He kept us updated, answered all our questions clearly, and made sure everything went smoothly. The car arrived exactly as described and the overall experience was super positive. Thank you, Sij!
Disappointed
It , saddens me to write this review as I have always trusted Chapman Motors and never had an issue before.
I took my car in for an MOT and service and was told a tyre with a cut was beyond repair and had to be replaced for the car to pass. The total bill came to just under £1,800, including several hundred pounds for a rear tyre and balancing.
After collecting the vehicle, we sought independent opinions. Kwik Fit advised the tyre should have been an advisory only, and Halfords confirmed it was repairable and fixed it for £30.
We raised this with Chapman Motors, but after speaking with their mechanics they stood by their decision. I was offered a £60 goodwill voucher, which does not reflect the difference in cost or resolve the concern.
Unfortunately, this experience has left me disappointed and has affected my trust in a garage I had relied on for years.

Thinking about buying a Volvo ex30 twin motor or range extender?
Read this first!
After speaking with the dealer I was assured I would have no issues with the Volvo ex30 twin motor as a company vehicle. I was advised the range would achieve in the region of 277 miles. I’ve had nothing but issues with the vehicle! In reality it’s achieved 120 miles during cooler but not freezing temperatures. The heating system only works if it’s set to hi otherwise it blows out cold air, the screen freezes, the volume has a mind of its own and turns up randomly whilst driving and don’t get me started on the issues with key or lack of. The battery has always seemed to have an aggressive overheating issue and now I have been advised the battery is a fire risk. Volvo have advised to only charge the car to 70% and keep away from your house. The range is now reduced to between 60-70 miles as once it hits 20% charge the mileage rapidly decreases. If you purchase a Volvo EX30 twin motor you will be asked to sign a declaration to say you will only charge it to 70%. They are relinquishing any responsibility against themselves.We are expected to continue to use the vehicle until they have a solution but they cannot confirm when that will be!
Would you buy an ex30 that could potentially set on fire. There is a video online of the one that caught fire in Brazil, luckily no one was harmed.

The dealership has experienced a remarkable make-over in recent times.
The inviting showroom is far more spacious, allowing for additional vehicles to be on display.
It is easy to navigate with a welcoming receptionist on hand to greet and alert the appropriate member of staff to offer assistance.
Complimentary refreshments are on hand, which is always appreciated.
Once again, Service Receptionist Hannah warmly greeted me and listened to any concerns I had.
With her knowledge and professional skills, Hannah is a credit to her role.
From the superb valet service, followed up with a video health check from the Technician, I collected my vehicle a few hours later.
