My experience doing the course was great im thankful to Jalal Ahmed he’s an amazing tutor and verry supportive thanks to Portsmouth collage Highbury campus and once again thank you Jalal and thank you rail futures

I join the course not knowing anything about the course and how it works, I was looking for a new chapter in terms of career and new challenges, a great thank you to our tutor Mr Jalal Ahmed make it easy the way he explains the procedure of the rail and the health and safety mixed up with his own experience stories and the potential of working in the rail. My knowledge since I started this course grow, regardless whether I am going to work in rail or elsewhere still this course plays a part in the way I look at the railway great experience for me a qualification one may need to have ,I will recommend it to anyone because you don’t know what around the corner.

Jalal is an amazing trainer, he explains things when I don’t understand things. He also has allot of knowledge about the railway which he shares with the class, it has helped me through the course and it’s made my time here enjoyable.

Absolutely splendid time had by all. A massive shout out to our tutor Jalal Ahmed he was very attentive, patient and he is extremely knowledgeable. I have had a great 6 weeks getting to know my potential future colleagues, i would recommend this course to anyone looking to change there career path.

Jalal Ahmed was my tutor for the rail futures course and it was a brilliant and informative course.
Jalal delivered the course professionally which gave me the knowledge needed for a future on the railway. Overall the course was a thoroughly enjoyable experience and jalal is a fantastic tutor.

I wasnt expecting much from this course but i was totally proven wrong... i have learned more than i thought i could On the railfutures course. My tutor Jalal Ahmed clearly has a passion for seeing people succeed. And delivers the course with care to all levels of understanding. Jalal Ahmed helped me with a lot of my work as I have dyslexia he made me understand the work better and help all of us as a class with the practical and help us all understand how the track life is

I really enjoyed my time on the course Jalal Ahmed was an amazing instructor patient and had great knowledge of the railway answered all queries I had thanks Jalal Ahmed was brilliant

I was one of 8 to complete a rail futures PTS course in Newham college in London this year. We then went on to a two week course at Higham park. Then nothing. Had we trained with another provider like Mcginley's we would get an interview and a posssible job but with Rail Futures it was like falling off a cliff edge. A month after completing the course not one of us have been offered even an interview, let alone any work.. One recruitment agency said to me they dont know how providers get away with training when there is no work. Stockwell employment agency said they have stopped working with Rail futures.....I think rail futures are simply taking advantage of government money.

I wasn't sure whether to attend the course as I haven't been in education for many years and I struggle to retain information but this course has been an eye opener.

I would like to give credit and a huge thank you to my tutor Jalal Ahmed. He was so patient and understanding during the course. Jalal's railway knowledge is impeccable. When I fell behind on the work he was happy to give me one to one session to help me catch up on the work.

I highly recommend this course and Jalal as your tutor if you want be taught and start a new career.

I was sat in Salisbury Job Centre Plus, unemployed wondering what job to do next? When I received a call from Rail Futures Network Ltd.

It resulted in me enrolling in City of Portsmouth College, the outcome is I have gained two qualifications NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Rail Engineering Track Maintenance and Level 2 Certificate in Rail Engineering Underpinning Knowledge. I have a wealth of practical experience on a range of tasks including use of small plant and a plethora of tools on both a 9m Standard Gauge Test Track and also a functional 1.5 Miles Narrow Gauge in Hollycombe.

I would definitely recommend anyone fit with a good work ethic interested in a career change, gaining new qualifications, skills and experience that will get you hired, to speak to Rail Futures Network Ltd, make a positive change, it is the fast track to skilled employment.

Had a great time on this course. There's been a great learning environment from the start in both practical and class room sessions. Our teacher Al is very knowledgeable from personal experience and ensured we are all well prepared to start work on the railway.

Its my last day of my course at highbury college tomorrow.im going to miss it.Al kane who is the tutor is very thorough with his teaching but also he is very doen to earth.nothing is too much trouble for him and he is jusy a good bloke all round.many thanks for all your help all and the chats we have had.cheers mate

Jalal Ahmed is an outstanding trainer tutor and mentor. He made the NVQ Level 2 Railway Engineering course easy to understand, supportive, and genuinely enjoyable. His knowledge of the railway industry is top-level, and he takes time to explain things properly. Thanks to Jalal, I felt confident in my work and fully prepared for the assessments. Highly recommended.

We had the best trainer jalal that made all the days worth coming in and we all had a right laugh along side learning the importance of the railways I would 100% recommend this course and trainer ( jalal ) to anyone that is stuck in what to do with life and can be a great outcome and change your life for the better for sure also made it easier for u to understand things and talk to

Jalal has been incredibly supportive throughout the entire course. Jalals knowledge of railway operations, safety procedures, and industry standards is outstanding, and he would always explain things clearly and in a way that’s easy to understand.
