Portuguese With Carla & Friends Anmeldelser

I am a true beginner with virtually no previous knowledge of Portuguese (other than a few basic words, and I have visited Portugal a half dozen times). I started Portuguese with Carla last week, and have (so far) only gone through 2 beginner (pre-journey) lessons. However, I can already tell that I am hooked. Carla and Marlon are so likable and relaxed in their teaching style. The lesson plans combine just the right amount of explanation, listening and speaking and are very challenging but not overly intimidating. They strike the perfect balance.

I amlso glad portuguesewithcarla.com exists! Never seen a tool like this before 🙌

I really like this online Portuguese class. It's easy to follow along and well organized.

The Journey with Portuguese with Carla is an awesome learning tool. It is creative, interesting and innovative. It inspires me to learn through diverse modes of lesson organization and delivery. I highly recommend to anyone wanting to learn Portuguese. It is easy to use in the comfort of your own environment and timing. The staff is very responsive with any questions as well.

I am so glad that found Portuguese with Carla. I listened to the podcast for several months before subscribing to The Journey and Live Practice. There is no better resource for learning European Portuguese. Their techniques are science-backed and natural, so you retain what you learn. And it's fun! The Live Practice sessions give you the opportunity to interact with others including a native speaker, so you get to practice what you learn while building your confidence and comfort levels. Most importantly, you actually learn European Portuguese as it is used in every day life, and you train your ear to comprehend the spoken word. I fully intend to renew my subscription, and I highly recommend them to others.

I am completely impressed with Carla and Marlon Sabala's The Journey tutorial. It's a great programme, interactive and fun, and you definitely won't get bored. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in European Portuguese.

I have been learning Portuguese on Portuguese with Carla for a few weeks now having spent a fair amount of time learning the language on another online site. In these few weeks I feel I have made very rapid progress in all sorts of ways but especially in understanding and speaking European Portuguese. The lessons are well planned and delivered with excellent explanations. There are also very clear learning outcomes. I only wish I had started it sooner.

Assuming you have time to devote to intensive immersive Portuguese learning this is by far the best course I’ve seen. Every stage of the journey is thought through and delivered to the nth degree. Better than the competitors, in my experience. The story concept is clever and compelling. Gamification with a clear outcome. Carla and Marlon use their personalities to good effect. Less waffle than in other courses. Price also good considering the depth of offering.

I love this programme. I had been learning Portuguese for over 4 years and have taken 4 different courses during that time and had 3 regular 1 hour private online classes for more than 2 years. My grammar is ok, reading is good but I couldn’t hear spoken Portuguese or make myself understood (I live in Portugal!). I don’t really remember why I decided to try this as I really had no high expectations, but it really is exceptionally different from everything else I have tried. There is a element of ‘shadowing’ which is unique to this programme and, for me, it really was the missing component in learning Portuguese. I can hear what people say to me and I am understood. It really has been a fantastic tool and I would recommend it to anyone learning Portuguese.

I love everything about my experience with this course so far. Carla and Marlon are friendly and knowledgeable. I love their hands on approach to learning a language, weaving in different tools and techniques. It is an immersion course, which I love. The videos are so well done. The team responds to questions quickly and kindly. I’m new to the program but looking forward to the rest of my journey with Portuguese with Carla!

I needed a program like this. It's well done and reinforces things in a scientific way. It's not easy, but I find that I am learning a lot. Additionally, my listening skills (to me, the hardest part of Portugese) are really improving.

The team (Carla and Marlon) are extremely friendly and helpful. they take the time to explain each part of the coruse, encourage you to do your best and also hold no punches. You need to do the coursework and put in the extra time to make the learning journey beneficial. At first the course appears daunting because there is a lot of Portuguese, but once you understand this is part of the "immersion" process you start to pick up new things each time you enter the platform.
Bravo!

I've been learning European Portuguese for 3 years. Other classes focus on grammar but I struggle to understand what Portuguese people are saying back to me. So far I am happy with the approach Carla and Marlon are using. I feel that I will have a better understanding of speaking and understanding Portuguese that real people are using.

Really nice and also helpful and structured course. I started to speak and understand people even after a 1st lessen (long one, it took me 3 days to finish at least)

Their approach to learning is excellent. They use multiple ways to teach you the language, i.e., reading, speaking, and listening. I found this approach to be very effective.

I am an older English speaking adult, making my first serious attempt at a new language. For me the difficulty was finding the balance between acquiring entry level conversational ability beyond rote memorization and understand the "whys" (everyday grammar) of the language. Portuguese with Carla enhances all my additional efforts (including a private tutor) and I would recommend it to anyone as a core resource. Thanks for all your efforts.

This is a fantastic way to learn Portuguese. Totally immersive, fun, with clear explanations all along the journey.
The quizzes are great fun and I learned so much in a very short time. Homework (consolidation) is also great fun and immediate feedback is given to help you improve.
I have already recommended this programme to friends.

Very new into The Journey but can tell you that I've taken several other courses on-line and find this one the most engaging and "real life" to date. Instead of focusing on grammar (which we trend to forget quickly or tune out) the student learns to listen and engage with the Portuguese language on a more authentic level (but, don't worry, grammar is included!). This course is money well spent; I actually look forward to my time spent on The Journey and learning Portuguese! Highly recommend.

I had been struggling with other videos. Finding journey with Carla Was a game changer I'm enjoying this more than I have any other program. I am very very very new to this language or any language other than English so it's taking time but I'm getting it with Carla and her husband. Thank you very much for this program is very helpful.

Enjoying the structure of “the journey”. After watching several of the you tube videos, I knew I would gain from her teaching method. Both Carla and Marlon assist in instruction and it feels like they are instructing me. Additionally, they explain actual pronunciation so you sound like a native.
