We had a very positive experience with Peru Summit, and its owner, Carlos. It was very easy to work with Carlos who planned a customized trip for my family. Carlos met us at the beginning and end of the trip, and was available to answer questions at any time. Carlos and his wife run the company; it is not a huge tour company, and I think with that comes a more personalized approach that we appreciated.

Our guide, Percy, was amazing. As was our driver Walter, who was safe and reliable. I have only good things to say about Peru Summit and I will use them again on our next trip to Peru. Thank you Carlos, Percy and Walter.

Percy was our guide for the Sacred Valley tour. The driver, Elvis, drove safely. We were the only two on the tour which was awesome and it felt more personalized. Percy knew so much about each site and was enthusiastic about sharing his knowledge about his country. He took us to a local cuy spot for lunch which was fun, too! The sites were just gorgeous and the tour was well done.

Peru Summit adventures and Carlos helped plan our trip to Cusco and Machu Picchu.
We used them for airport transfers, private city tour and a private tour for our family to go to Machu Picchu. We had a superb experience; all details were taken care of by Carlos and his team. Our guides were excellent and spoke good English making the entire process smooth and seamless for us; the Mercedes vehicle provided by Peru Summit adventures was new, comfortable and well maintained. Overall a 5 star experience!!

Our trip to Cusco, the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu and Rainbow Miuntain exceeded our expectations in every way.
Our driver Elvis, guide Juan Pablo and host Carlos were helpful, punctual and extremely knowledgeable. The vehicles were new, comfortable and spotlessly maintained and the itinerary suited us well.
Juan Pablo was outstanding . From his knowledge of the sites and the changing conditions to his ability to get us to the sites before the crowds, his ability to cater to our needs and his care and kindness, he was the ultimate guide. In addition he helped us with re commendations for food and further activities and generally made our tour a wonderful experience.

We became aware of Peru summit during our preparations for a six months journey through South America. My wife and me wanted to do the Choquequirao trek as an alternative to Inka trail. We noticed the company because of its philosophy regarding environment, behavior with their staff, the detailed informations and also the route which was different to the others. From the first moment, the contact with Carlos was very personal, friendly and interested in fullfilling our wishes.
Unfortunately, my wife got sick in Cusco but Carlos offered a free postponement. Finally, we had to cancel the trek, and Carlos was really very obliging with respect to cancellation fee.
We then booked a one day tour to Vinicunca / Rainbow Mountain. Carlos himself attended us as a guide. He speaks perfect English and he explained us much about the story behind “ Rainbow Mountain”, but above all about the Andes, their people, religion and culture.
The genuine highlight of the tour was the offer to visit the nearby Red valley. To be honest, this lonesome, silent and incredibly beautiful landscape impressed us even more than the famous Rainbow Mountain.It will stay a highlight of our journey!

Carlos provided daily communication about transportation arrangements to ensure the itinerary went smoothly, and Carlos consistently checked in to ensure our well-being and enjoyment. His thoughtfulness made us feel cared for and supported throughout our adventure. Carlos organized our trip, welcomed us in Cusco upon our arrival, and bid us farewell as we departed. I would not hesitate to recommend Peru Summit Adventures for your Peru trip. Just completed 14 days in Peru from Aug-Sep 2023 with the help of Carlos in planning an itinerary that helped us to maximise what we could see & experience. I have a good idea of my list of must-visits and it's quite an ambitious one in the short amount of time we had there. Carlos has been super helpful to work with me on this, helping to check & make bookings for all the train/domestic flight connections such that every day of my trip runs smoothly. The local guides arranged in every city are also very friendly, knowledgeable, helpful - we had a good experience with every one of them.

Being a guide himself for many years prior to starting Peru Summit Adventures with his wife (also a highly experienced guide herself), they have built a great network of good & reliable local guides, and Carlos makes it a point to check-in with us for feedback every single day over whatsapp - which I think is a great example of excellent service. Carlos & his wife came to welcome us at our hotel when we arrived at Cusco, and he came to bid us farewell when we depart Cusco.

From planning to execution, there has been great communication throughout and flawless execution. Local drivers also show up at the airports/train stations on time to pick us up, we didn't have to worry about it at all. We felt well taken care of (as 2 Asian females in South America) and truly could not find any faults. Thank you Peru Summit Adventures!

We can’t say enough about how much we loved our experience with Peru Summit Adventures. Carlos was extremely professional and responsive to me from the moment I started inquiring about the experience and all the way through.
We were able to make our way to Machu Piccu our own way by doing 5 days of treks in different locations, staying in different lodging, until the final day 6 at Machu Piccu. Every detail was considered and our every need was met. For instance, on Day 4 we realized we wanted to add Rainbow Mountain to our tour. Carlos quickly pivoted, changed the plans, and made sure we got to have our Rainbow Mountain experience. He made sure we were the first ones to arrive so that we weren’t flooded by the crowds that often arrive there. Our guide, Juan Carlos, brought oxygen with him just in case we needed it (I did!) and was really supportive throughout. He was super knowledgable and really pleasant to be around. He had great stories to share and was always concerned that our expectations were being met.

They also thought of things i never would have considered. They made sure to book the first entry into Machu Picchu on Circuit 1 so that we had a sunrise view of the ruins and no people around crowding the place. I never would have known to do that.

They also brought a chef a long on a couple of days to meet us mid-trek and make us incredible vegetarian meals wherever we happened to be (we requested vegetarian and they made sure we always had great food).

Overall, it was a first class experience. Carlos and Juan Carlos were incredible and joyful. Even Elvis, our driver, was a ray of sunshine. So —five stars from us!

Peru Summit Adventures, 5 day, Sacred Valley Lodge-to-Lodge trek to Machu Picchu
This trip was outstanding and will be one of my favorite lifetime memories. Peru Summit Adventures planned and executed an outstanding tour that met my needs. It encompassed:
• Gorgeous views of the Andes and local farmlands
• Off the typical tourist treks that included eating a traditional meal at a local family’s home
• Small group size and great accommodations
• Very skilled and knowledgeable guide who:
o prepped us for each day suggesting appropriate jackets, insect repellent, quantity of water to bring
o shared great knowledge of the Incas, local history and local people
o knew the trails, when to take a break, eat lunch, put on insect repellent, etc.
o great at answering questions and social interactions
I give the Peru Summit Adventures my highest recommendation.

Perfect! Memorable! Would do it again!

PLANNING: Five of use, family members, went on hikes in the Sacred Valley and the short Inca Trail. At almost 80 years I was the oldest in the group. The others were spry and in excellent shape. Carlos planned THE IDEAL trip for all of us. We got to hike lovely trails, see historic sites, and listen to informative thoughtful guides, and talk to some of the local people.

RESPONSIVENESS: Carlos was amazingly responsive. We exchanged WhatsAp messages about the diverse composition of our group, whether trekking poles would be helpful, what to expect in terms of weather, how to train for the trip, and many other tings. I hadn't been to Peru before, and having replies from Carlos within 24 hours to my many queries was very comforting.

THE CHALLENGE: I wanted to challenge myself, and I found some of the days to be indeed challenging. Abraham was our guide every day and Carlos joined us one day. Abe ensured that I was within my capability, but he also let me push as hard as I wanted to. I trusted Abe to tell me to slow down or even skip some days, when necessary. Luckily, everything worked out perfectly.

Abe reminded us to get protection from the sun and mosquitoes, and to remain hydrated. He told us to use bottled water to clean our teeth. All five us remained healthy and fine during the trip.

THE CULTURE: We were introduced to a farm family and we got to talk to two women who prepared and carried picnic lunches for us. Abe and Carlos told us about the history of the Peruvian Andes including the most recent history of the succession of presidents and the protests. I wanted to learn as much as I could in 5 days about the area; Abe and Carlos were superb in describing the area, the history and the people. Moreover, their descriptions were totally balanced, giving both sides of conflicts. Abe and Carlos were proud of the indigenous culture and the old religion and Pachamamma. Indeed, their descriptions were so engaging that I bought a book and watched YouTube videos about it, the history, and the area. But, one can't really understand what life is like for ordinary people merely by reading books; one needs to listen to them.

TREKS AND SCENERY: Many people hike the Inca Trail. Carlos arranged for us to hike beautiful trails in the Sacred Valley with spectacular views. On these trails we saw no other tourists. We did see farmers, and the guides chatted with them. I am delighted that we got off the beaten path. We could take photographs and drink in the scenery without being concerned about a tour group coming up the trail behind us.

HOTELS AND TRANSPORTATION: I loved Terra Villa Hotel in the Urubamba valley. The breakfasts were excellent everywhere. The picnic lunch and the Pachamanca lunch were splendid. Pedro, the van driver, was amazing, taking us skillfully along narrow streets. The views from the train were spectacular.

This was a trip I had been eager to undertake for many years. Peru is a beautiful, intriguing and incredibly interesting destination. But I can't say enough about my trip coordinators - Peru Summit Adventures. These are the people to turn your dreams into the trip of a lifetime. They are amazing in all aspects of the process. An acquaintance/friend from another adventure - a very experienced traveler - recommended PSA. It was GREAT advice. Starting with Carlos - we worked on getting just the right fit for a 71 yr old solo traveler. He answers a plethora of questions to come up with what was perfect for me. Next up - JUAN CARLOS (JC) - my personal guide. He was knowledgable and passionate about his country's rich history. He answered every question - and I had a lot - with a clear mastery of the topics. Every detail went off flawlessly from excellent hotels, transportation, to meals. Next they set up my visit to the rainforest in Tambopata Research Reserve. They put me in a remote but comfortable lodge surrounded by all the wonders of the rainforest. I highly recommend Peru Summit Adventures to turn your travel dreams into an amazing reality!

We recently went on a 3 day small group tour with Peru summit tours. Normally we explore on our own, but not knowing the local language, and needing to get around we decided to go on the tour. The tour group consisted of a driver, a guide and the two of us. We visited Maras Salt Pans, The Moray Ruins, Ollantaytambo, Machu Pichu and Cusco and its surrounds. It was fabulous. The guide was local, with huge in-depth knowledge, excellent English, and enjoyed explaining his fabulous culture with us. They were very reliable in organising the whole tour, adjusting it to suit us. This was an excellent way to explore the Inca culture and this part of Peru. We really enjoyed our tour with them.

We had three days with Edwin (two days) and Juan Carlos (one day), and the experiences ranged from climbing Huayna Picchu to doing a Cusco City tour. They were both very attentive tour guides, especially Edwin who took such good care of my mom while we were hiking Huayna Picchu. They also always try to go above and beyond, including asking us if we had another day in Machu Picchu to make sure that we're able to see everything. If not, they volunteered to meet us as early as 6am (given ticket restrictions) to give us a more elaborate tour.

My parents' english levels are not the best, but they could understand Edwin and Juan Carlos really well, as they talked with great English and at a slower pace adjusting to my parents' ability to understand them. They were more than happy to be pestered with questions that my dad had haha. All in all, we didn't have to worry about anything from picking up to food options to questions and tickets. Everything was taken care of at the private tour and we felt very safe all throughout our trip.

I had been wanting to travel to Peru to hike the Inca Trail and visit the Amazon for some time. A google search lead me to Peru Summit Adventures which I selected for my trip due to their ethos, ethics and approach to the tour. I had am amazing experience over 9 days. The 5 day Inca hike was grueling at times, but Ruben, my guide, was patient, supportive and encouraging. He is has a wealth of knowledge and passion about Incan history and shared that throughout the hike. He also gave me several 'small breaks' which helped to build my confidence in completing the hike. I highly recommend the 5 day vs 4 day Inca Hike as you get more time along the hike to complete it and you see all of the the Inca sites along the way. You also have time to enjoy the scenery and a day in Aguas Calientes which is not to be missed! I noticed the other tour companies rushed through the hike and the individual Incan sites, including the tour of Machu Picchu. But Ruben spent much time explaining the history of the entire region along the hike so that by the time I reached Machu Picchu I had a better understanding of its significance.

The porters and chef were phenomenal as well! I arrived to a large tent ready for me, delicious regional foods and daily snacks to keep me going. I was amazed at what the chef prepared each day. And there was plenty of food to keep you energized!

The four days in the Amazon at Refugios Amazonas was spectacular. I highly recommend at least four days to see this amazing part of the world. Our guide, Lucia, was fantastic, demonstrating so much knowledge and passion for the region. She takes many pictures and videos for you using her high powered binocular so no need to bring extra lenses if you don't want to the weight.

In all, I HIGHLY recommend Peru Summit Adventures for your trip to Peru. It is worth every penny.

Words cannot even begin to tell you how amazing this company is. If I could give them seven stars I would! I did the six day trek on the Ausangate trail, and it was incredible. It started by having the owner of the company come see me a couple days before the trip and fill me in on what I could expect. That in of itself was amazing. However, the trip itself far exceeded my expectations, and was undersold by the owner. My guide Ruben was amazing. He allowed me to go at my pace, and he also made it so easy to do more difficult trails. The trip was really tailored to me. Every single day he allowed us to go further off the itinerary to cover more mileage. If I wanted to point at a different trail and go off course to do some thing else, he was all in. Those two things in themselves would’ve been more than enough for me. Yet, the two Horseman and cook were 7 stars all the way! Their positive attitude and energy made for such an enjoyable trip. I really wasn’t expecting anything from the food, and it was far better than anything I had on that whole I was in Peru. They had so little to work with, and yet all three meals each day were amazing. I read reviews all the time, and the reviews for this company were spot on. I can honestly say this is the first time I’ve ever written anything, and I’m telling you, if you come to the area you must use this Peru Summit Adventures.

The Ausangate Trek (5D, including Rainbow Mountain) was the highlight of my trip to Peru.

This non-touristy trail has stunning scenery across 5 passes at high altitude. It is truly an authentic hiking experience and a perfect escape into the mountains. Glaciers, high peaks, vast valleys, lakes and wildlife - it is rugged and beautiful terrain made all the more rewarding by the moderately challenging hiking conditions.

Peru Summit are an elite outfit and offered timely communication, top quality gear and a highly capable hiking crew (guide, chef and horsemen). An impressive, truly local business that is growing.

It was also more than a hike. The tour guide took the time to educate us on Peruvian history and Andean culture, enriching the experience and providing a special connection to the local area.

I would recommend this trek to all hiking lovers as part of their visit to Cusco.

Ultimately we created a trip that included 4 day tours in Sacred Valley (needed time to adjust to the altitude), 3 days visiting/hiking Machu Picchu, 5 day Choquequirao trek and finally 5 day trek to Asaungante. See the trips below.

We wanted to experience the culture, the scenery, with some adventure, history and minimal crowds. We opted for the less travelled treks, while still including a few days of Machu Picchu.

Our family of 4 - 24, 27, 56 and 61 loved the whole experience.

JC our travel guide was awesome! We travelled with him for 3 weeks and never tired of his playfulness. He is very knowledgeable, patient and had a great sense of humor. He also took great photos that were very creative. A tour guide can make or break the experience.

We were the first totally vegan group to travel with them. Our chef and his assistant did an amazing job providing a variety of plant based dishes that were really tasty and creative. I appreciated all the fruits and vegetables they lugged up the mountains on horseback!

The 2 muleteers worked incredibly hard delivering our luggage to each location and setting up camp each day. Such luxury just to travel with a day pack. They did everything so joyously and were so helpful. The quality of the crew was top notch and really enhanced our experience. JC referred to us a ‘family’.

The trips were well thought out to allow us a balance of hiking and sightseeing, while avoiding large crowds where possible.

I am glad we just did the 1 day hike to Machu Picchu to enter through the Sun Gate. The next day we did the full tour and the last day we Hiked up the crowded Machu Picchu mountain it consists of hundred of steps to get the classic view of MP - worth it IF you have time.

We were glad to spend more time hiking Choquequirao. It was definitely challenging But it was much quieter. We stayed at very scenic campsites as well.

The highlight of our trip, unexpectedly, was definitely Ausangate. The scenery was incredible and less physically challenging than Choquequirao.but the very, very cold temperatures at night and the high altitudes of 16 000 ft were very challenging for even the 2 strongest in our group. It was an unknown as to how your body would react and we all reacted differently. Fortunately with diamox and walking slower than you ever thought possible it was manageable and totally worth it. Some people do have to exit early due to altitude sickness. The solitude of this less travelled route combined with the most beautiful mountains and lakes we have ever seen (it changed daily) was the best hike we have ever done.

We would definitely book with them again. They really focused on the details. Carlos would call us after each trip to check in. Very personalized service. I was glad to be supporting a local company and this one is tops!

I highly recommend Peru Summit Adventures, we had an amazing time on the 5 day Manu Reserve trip. Our guide, Thomas, was very knowledgeable and helped us spot many species of monkeys and birds. The chef was amazing and even created a birthday cake for me in the middle of the jungle! Our car and boat driver were very friendly and professional. It was a great experience!

We had pre-booked the Inca Hike with a different tour operator and after comparing the service and professionalism of Peru Summit Adventures, I will only use for any future trips to Peru!
