Changed four tires (£700) only after one month of purchasing the car.
Brake pads need changing after 8,000 mileage (£200). They refused to take responsibility for the cost and blame it on the way the car was driven. Sunroof was juddering brought it in twice to repair but was not fixed. They have asked me to book it again for the third time as if we got nothing better to do. I asked Oscar do they not check what they try to fix before calling the customer? I had to check over their jobs and call them out and point it out it wasn't done! This vehicle has cause me problems after problems and the dealership refusing to take responsibility!!

I hate changing cars with a passion. It was only because my dearly loved 20 year old S60 failed beyond economic repair, that I was forced into looking for another. Having mentally prepared myself for the inevitable car salesman's attempts to sell me the most expensive car on the lot, I visited Paul Rigby Stourbridge. There I was approached by Ollie Rooney who said very little. Instead he listened carefully to my very specific requirements (including vehicle length) and then ruled out vast numbers of cars, finally offering 2 which would do the job. He then facilitated an unhurried test drive of my selection, which included a visit home to ensure it would actually fit in the garage. Upon my return he introduced me to Sam Martin who ran through some of the regulated products. They both handled my final purchase of the car superbly, and perhaps the highest compliment I can pay them is to say that they are NOT salesmen. They are highly competent guides who merely assist you in making the choice that is right for you.

Think it’s time to write a review so, let’s start with the Negative things……
There are none.
So this will be my third new car from them.
This one is a 2024 XC40.
So let’s start with the staff they are fantastic, from the ladies on Reception to the Service Department and to the Sales.
I have been a customer for some 9 years and you get treated like a new customer however long you have been.
Anyone can sell a car but it’s how you deal with things afterwards and Paul Rigby Stourbridge are without a doubt the best I have ever seen.
From going in, choosing my car, being kept up to date and then receiving my new Volvo.
They know exactly what you need and know how to ensure your complete satisfaction.
Now the car, wow what can I say 100 % over the moon I am learning more each day about it.
I tow a caravan and it pulls with ease.
I drove from Devon with the Cruse control on at 70 mph and I was getting 49.3 mph. Not bad.
This BTW was with out the caravan.
I think you would not be disappointed I am a Mobility Driver and I would recommend and I hope this helps
Review of Volvo Service - Water Pump Replacement & ERAD Failure
I am sharing my frustrating experience with Volvo Paul Rigby Birmingham Erdington regarding the repair work on my Volvo XC90. My experience has been marked by significant additional costs and unresolved issues, and I want to ensure others are aware of the potential pitfalls.
Background: I initially brought my vehicle to Volvo Paul Rigby Birmingham Erdington for a water pump repair, which was completed on July 3rd. Shortly thereafter, the ERAD (Electronic Roadside Assistance Device) system began to malfunction. Following this, I was informed that the ERAD needed replacing, and after completing this repair, I was invoiced approximately £3,200.
Key Issues:
Additional Problems Identified: After paying for the ERAD repair, I was informed that the issue was not fully resolved. The dealership then diagnosed an additional problem with the IEM (Integrated Electronic Module). They stated that the ERAD repair had not completely addressed the issue, and that the IEM now required replacement.
Cost of Additional Repair: I was given a quote for the IEM replacement amounting to over £3,700. This was presented as necessary to fix the unresolved issues, leading to even higher unexpected costs.
Incomplete Diagnosis: The initial diagnosis did not identify the IEM issue, which was only discovered after the ERAD repair. This lack of thorough initial diagnosis has caused considerable inconvenience and additional financial strain.
Additional Costs: Due to the ongoing delays and unresolved issues, I have been forced to hire a car, incurring further expenses. I plan to include these costs in my claim for reimbursement as part of seeking a fair resolution.
Steps Taken:
Request for Documentation: I have requested detailed diagnostic reports from before and after the water pump and ERAD repairs. I also seek clarification on the software updates performed on the IEM module and why the IEM issue was not identified initially.
Escalation: I have escalated the matter to Volvo corporate and filed a formal complaint with The Motor Ombudsman (UK) to seek a fair resolution.
Legal and Consumer Protection: If necessary, I am prepared to take legal action or seek alternative dispute resolution to address the dealership’s handling of the repairs and diagnostics.
Final Thoughts: My experience with Volvo Paul Rigby Birmingham Erdington has been highly disappointing and costly. The failure to diagnose the IEM issue initially and the subsequent demand for additional repairs have resulted in unnecessary expenses and inconvenience. I hope this review serves as a caution to others and prompts the dealership to improve their diagnostic processes and customer service. I will provide updates on this review as the situation progresses.

Absolutely delighted to drive away in my first Volvo after being SO well looked after by all of the team. Huge shout-out to the lovely Sally, Rachel, Matt and Qash who pulled-out all the stops to ensure we were all superbly looked after (including our Pug pooches who loved all the fuss and treats). I would not hesitate recommending this dealership, all in all a fantastic experience!
Excellent customer service
Excellent customer service. I recently required work on a four year old vehicle that had fallen out of the manufacturer's warranty. I enquired if they would consider good will gesture considering the age of the vehicle. The repair was undertaken without any issues, minimal fuss and no cost to myself. Superb customer service.
Premium prices
Premium prices, certainly not premium service. Very disappointing customer service. Dropped my car off for a service/mot at 08:30 in the morning (pre-booked appointment) returned at 16:15 - not even started it. I rang at 15:30 to check if it was ready, and was told no one was available and they would call me - no one called. Picked my car up a day later and my key was covered in a sticky substance- absolutely caked in it. I would advise people to go elsewhere as they couldn't give a toss
Words cannot express
Went to collect my brand new C40 today and the service received was amazing I have never received such treatment before I was speechless when my excellent salesman Matt unveiled my car and presented to me in an exceptional manner I was given an indepth tutorial on the workings of the car by a lovely young lady whose name I cannot remember. She even synced my phone to the car I was treated like a VIP the only thing missing was the red carpet.
My volvo is awesome this is luxury at its best. Beautiful car. Lovely to drive. All other cars pale in comparison. I am now a volvo woman and the only place I will ever go is Paul Rigby Chester Road Erdington.

Excellent experience during my recent Volvo purchase at Paul Rigby. Ismail the sales executive handling my purchase was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble and he kept me in updated throughout the whole process. He also arranged for a member of staff to sit in the car with me to explain all of the features which was great. It’s the first time I’ve had that.

No Compassion
have had 5 Volvos, used Paul Rigby for years. I got a Polestar, it broke on my birthday. They managed to book me in for Thursday . I got there at 8am as Katie the SM requested. The advisor said ‘are you waiting’ I said yes I’ll pop for my breakfast. Came back at 10:30 car had not moved. I asked if they could help get me home as my dog needed walking and son collecting from school. They refused, they made me get an Uber at £11, they said they could drop the car to me but I would need to run them back. I explained my partner is leaving me after 15 years and i just want some compassion as a long term customer. They didn’t apologise. I will never use them again, they have lost my business, my family and friends. Over £11 it takes 50 years to build a reputation and 5 minutes to ruin it. I’m open to an apology and I will remove this review. My heart is broken and they made it worse. James

I had the best possible experience. Ismail my salesperson assisted me through every part of the process of considering whether to invest in the car I owned or to consider a part exchange. I felt that my best interests were considered at every step and every query or request I made was given due consideration and I was able to make the right decision for me. I bought my previous car from Paul Rigby 7 years ago and I’m delighted to have returned and bought my ‘new’ one. Excellent, fair and friendly service. Thankyou.

It is always a pleasure to visit Paul Rigby Birmingham for my Volvo’s service. Very professional service throughout from the welcome and caring hospitality from Sally to the efficient organisation from Callum.

Pick up car when told all work completed and same banging noise heard.
Returned and was told it’s my fault as I asked for a new spring and not a diagnosis. The car actually needed a new suspension bearing. And they knew this already without further inspection…. So while the Volvo brand prides itself on safety this dealership prides itself on dangerous behavior
