Very fair and professional customer service from PANGAIA

PANGAIA handled my case in a very professional and fair way. I contacted them about a quality issue with a hoodie and pants, and even though the items were bought about a year ago and I no longer had the receipt, their customer service was kind, responsive, and solution oriented. I really appreciated the way they approached it. Great support from Alex and a very positive experience overall.

Terrible customer service, confusing refunds, and disappointing quality :(

I’ve had one of the most frustrating shopping experiences of my life with Pangaia, and unfortunately, it has happened repeatedly.

Originally, I placed an order and returned most of the items. I selected a gift card refund because I planned to reorder in a different size.

Later, I placed a second order and paid partially with that gift card and partially with my credit card. This time, I explicitly selected a refund back to my original payment method (cash refund), because after all the issues I had already experienced, I didn’t want store credit anymore.

Instead, Pangaia refunded only the portion I paid via card and forced the rest into store credit again. After weeks of delays, I was told they “couldn’t refund in cash” and that this was their policy. I never agreed to this, and it felt like my money was being held hostage in the form of store credits...?

Ok, I got this card, so I need to spend it, right? So I decided to try ordering again using the store credits (because I had no choice).

My gift card was supposed to be worth €99 / $105, but when applied at checkout, it only deducted €88! On top of that, my order total was supposed to qualify for free delivery (I ordered two pieces which price was above €175 in total). Yet free shipping didn’t apply (because I used a gift card! Which is my money!) and I was still charged extra shipping fees.

So now I’ve lost:
- €12 of gift card value
- plus €7 in shipping fees
for absolutely no valid reason.

Even worse: the product quality is extremely disappointing for the price point. Jeans lost color and shrank after one wash. Fabric feels fragile and stains do not come out properly, if you have any, so you need to be extremely careful while wearing. Overall quality does not match the “premium” branding at all...

Pangaia has great marketing, but the reality is: confusing policies, inconsistent refund handling, unreliable checkout behavior, and overpriced clothing that doesn’t hold up. I genuinely regret how much money I’ve spent here.

Would not recommend.

To clarify, refunds are always issued back to the original payment methods used at checkout. When an order is paid partially with a gift card or store credit and partially with a card, refunds are automatically split accordingly. This policy is outlined during the process, but we appreciate that it may not have been communicated clearly enough in your case.

Regarding the gift card value and shipping charges, this does sound like something we’d want to review more closely, as gift cards should retain their full value and should not affect free shipping eligibility when order thresholds are met.

We’re also sorry to hear that the products didn’t meet your expectations in terms of durability. While care instructions are designed to preserve fit and colour, we recognise that your experience did not align with what we intend for our garments.

If you’re open to it, we’d really like to re-review your case in full. Please reach out to our Customer Care team so we can look into the refunds, gift card balance, shipping charges, and product concerns altogether.

Disgusting customer service

Extremely poor customer service and product quality.

I purchased five Pangaia tracksuits, and every single one has either shrunk significantly or ripped after minimal wear. The quality is clearly substandard and faulty.

I contacted Pangaia to raise a complaint, and they confirmed in writing that they would refund all five tracksuits. I was initially pleased with this resolution and thought it reflected good customer service. However, they only provided two return labels for three of the items. I returned the items using the labels provided and followed up to ask when I would receive the remaining labels.

At that point, Pangaia informed me that they had changed their mind and would no longer honour the agreed refund. Even worse, they are now refusing to refund the three items that I have already sent back to them.

I am genuinely shocked that a large clothing brand would agree to a refund, accept returned goods, and then withdraw the resolution. I have received only generic, automated responses since raising this issue.

I also know several other people who have experienced the same problems with Pangaia tracksuits, which suggests a wider quality issue that the company is unwilling to acknowledge or take responsibility for.

Based on my experience, I would strongly advise others to avoid purchasing from this brand.

The orders referenced in your review were placed in early 2024 and are now well outside the statutory return and refund timeframes under the UK Consumer Rights Act. As such, we are not legally able to process refunds for historic orders where the eligibility period has long since passed.

In relation to your contact with our support team, we did initially discuss return options in good faith. However, upon further review of the order dates and return eligibility, it became clear that a full refund could not be honoured under consumer law or our published returns policy. This was communicated to you once the correct assessment had been completed.

We would also like to clarify that refunds can only be issued for items that are returned in accordance with the agreed process and within the applicable timeframe. Where returns are incomplete, outside policy, or not eligible under consumer legislation, refunds cannot be processed.

We understand that this may not be the outcome you were hoping for, but we must apply the same legal and policy standards consistently for all customers.

If you believe there is specific documentation or information we have not yet reviewed, we encourage you to contact our customer support team directly so this can be looked into further.

Mensurations incorrectes, retour compliqué, service client excellent

Les mensurations affichées sur le site ne correspondaient pas au produit reçu (notamment pour la doudoune que j’ai commandée). Le retour a aussi été compliqué, avec plus de 10 jours de délai. En revanche, le service client est excellent, très réactif et a bien pris en charge la situation.

I’m appalled by this company

I’m appalled by this company! The customer service is non existent! I bought something that ripped as I was trying it on! I sent multiple emails and no response whatsoever, so I’m escalating this matter with my bank now. Stay away. The quality is so poor it’s worse than primark and it’s a total greenwashing as it’s all cheap polyester…. But the worst part is basically them trying to scam you and not giving you your money back

Bad Customer Service

I ordered a jacket and it was too big so I wanted to exchange it. Two days later I changed my mind and wanted to do a return instead. After emailing their customer service they said they could cancel the exchange and then I could do a return instead. It has been twenty days and many emails later and this has still not happened. They never respond to email replies, I have to start a new message from their website every time. The lack of communication is frustrating. This experience has ruined my initial interest in this brand.

Great Quality, Fast Delivery & Excellent Customer Supportad a very good experience with…

I had a very good experience with PANGAIA. The delivery was very fast, which I really appreciated. Unfortunately, I had to return the pants because the size did not fit me, but the quality of the item was excellent.
The return process itself was uncomplicated and easy to handle. However, it did take quite some time until the returned item was fully received and processed. After the confirmation, I initially received a gift card, although I was hoping for a refund.
I contacted customer support regarding this, and I received a response immediately. The support team was very helpful and processed my refund without any issues.
Overall, I am very satisfied with my experience — great products, smooth returns, and outstanding customer service. I would definitely shop at PANGAIA again.

If I could rate this company 0 or minus star’s I would. I placed an on line order Black Friday and returned a number of items 08 Dec, I chased for my refund 24 Dec. I then received a refund for all but one item 30 Dec. I was informed one item would not be refunded as damaged. I asked for a photo as the item was not returned damaged. On 31 December I received a photo of item showing no damage. It has taken numerous emails to get refund which was eventually processed 13 January. I was told the delay was due to checks and balances. I did not receive an apology for falsely accusing me of something and despite asking on numerous occasions have not been advised of what the formal complaint process is.
I am so disappointed in the service I received and concerned with the evident poor practice within the company. I would not recommend purchasing anything from them. Customer service is beyond poor and slow.
The below response speaks volumes. Again they have not apologised for falsely accusing me of returning an item damaged. If I had not challenged they would have not refunded me. Be careful if you choose to shop with this company.

Lost my trust in this company

I used to love this company but lost my trust after few of my returns have not been processed and I only managed to get my money back after opening a PayPal case.

Once I also had a situation that the item was cancelled from the order and despite an apology and written notification from the customer service I had to open a PayPal case again.

If you want to order here, please make sure your payment is protected. Otherwise you might need to take legal actions in order to get your money back.

After few years the quality is not the same anymore. I liked that the items were mostly produced in Europe but today I see “made in Turkey”on the label.
Is it still environmentally friendly at all ?

Will not honor their own policies unless you fight them on it

Wow, I thought I just had a one, maybe weird circumstance that led to bad customer service, but seems to be quite a common experience. I ordered 3 items and didn’t particularly like any of them for the price point, so I initiated returning the items. The return policy is 30 days. I received my order Dec 4. On January 2, I finally got around to returning my order, but the website kept saying I was out of the return window, which I was not. I emailed the customer service and they even said that it was an error and acted like they fixed the issue. However, I had the same issue. Customer service must have the weekend off (which is not my issue at all, good for them) and on a Tuesday, Jan. 6 they said that I was officially out of the return window. So you mean to tell me that my return is getting denied because of pangaia’s error, or because the issue wasn’t resolved before they went on weekend, or they simply just didn’t want to honor their own return policy? Anyway, after confronting them about it, they acted like it never even happened and immediately changed tune and started processing my return. Idk why I had to waste my time getting them to honor their own policies and fixing their own errors, but it’s simply unacceptable and telling. Will never support this company again, but I’m not missing out on much. Now, only time will tell if I get my money back.
