I had done a cohoot through august to september of 2024 but unfornetley i had to work the classe going on, it made it hard to catch up on the labs. The theory i understand but not the practical. What do i do. Since it has been a year and plus since that cohoot ?

Although AWS Cloud Architect is a complex subject, Optima has very good instructors who are really responsive and willing to explain any questions. So far I have been with David Hayes, Kim Brooke and Chantel, they are all very helpful and supportive.

I called Optima Support and spoke to Simon S. he ensured me that he could help me and had a conversation that made me feel supported and helped me not loose faith.
Feeling overwhelmed and alone about the whole job searching aspect, Simon went above and beyond to help or to get me into contact with the appropriate people.

I got in contact with Simon at Optima IT, needing help with setting up Kali Linux and Firefox on my laptop. Extremely helpful and knowledgeable, nothing was too much trouble.

Once I was set up Simon helped me through the Lab sessions, which was great, it's now given me the confidence to get stuck in myself. He also showed how to effectively clean up and file emails, which again was great help. Thank you Simon

My experience with Optima Training & Consultancy Limited was extremely disappointing.

I enrolled in December 2024 after the course was advertised as beginner-friendly and suitable for people starting a career in IT and cyber security with no prior experience. During the sales process I was also told there would be no difficult maths involved, only simple calculations, and that completing the programme would lead to job opportunities which were described as guaranteed.

In reality, the course delivery did not match how it was marketed. The sessions were delivered as long 8-hour weekend classes that were extremely intensive and not structured in a way that supports people who are completely new to the subject. The pace often assumed prior knowledge and many foundational concepts were not clearly explained.

The labs were difficult to follow for beginners, and on one occasion a lecturer appeared unsure how to complete or explain the lab during the session. Tutors were also changed multiple times which created inconsistency in the teaching.

The teaching style did not appear to be adapted for different learning styles or additional learning needs. The delivery felt rigid and lacked the structure and clarity beginners often require. At one point a tutor even advised students to skip content they did not understand rather than properly explaining it.

I initially stopped attending because the format was so difficult to follow, but later decided to give the course another chance by joining a different cohort. Unfortunately the experience was even worse than the first.

As a cohort, several of us raised concerns and complaints together about the course delivery, structure and quality. These issues were clearly not isolated.

I also saw the company publicly post on LinkedIn looking for a lecturer to teach a class the day before it was due to run, which raised concerns about preparation and organisation.

I eventually decided to leave the course. Optima tried to persuade me to continue, but I did not feel it was right to keep paying for something that I believed had been falsely advertised, so I chose to challenge it further instead.

When I later raised a formal complaint about these issues, Optima denied the concerns and refused to cancel the finance agreement.

I had to report this to Financial Ombudsman Service and Trading Standard. Eventually, the finance provider, Buyline, later reopened my case and investigated the situation again and after reviewing the case properly I received a refund.

Overall this was a very stressful experience and the course did not reflect how it had been presented during the sales process. I would strongly advise anyone considering enrolling to research carefully before committing.

I really wanted to perform a Google Course offered from Optima Training and Consultancy.
Korin greatly helped me in signing to the course and explained different financial plans that suits to my current situation. I greatly appreciate and thank her for understanding my situation and a big salute to the helping mentality and patience in helping me out.

am writing this to warn anyone thinking about using Optima IT for their education. Many people come to companies like this because they are desperate for a better career, but my experience shows that Optima uses confusing administrative tricks to trap you into thousands of pounds of debt. A person named Louise handled my query, and if you do not know your rights, this place will definitely hide them from you.

The 13th January Start Date:
Optima is trying to claim my 14-day legal right to cancel started on the 13th of January, even though I did not sign any contract until the 16th of January. During a phone call to get me to sign, an advisor named Ali specifically told me the start date would be the 17th. I did not sign on the 13th because when you sign a contract, the 14-day cooling-off period legally starts a day later. I naturally followed his instructions and believed him. I cancelled on the 30th of January, which is exactly 14 days from my signature. Now they are trying to backdate everything to the 13th just to stop me from leaving. They are doing this because on the 13th Ali called and processed my finance with Premium Credit. My course did not even start until the 16th of February, so the argument that I was enrolled on the 13th makes no sense. Louise refused to budge and gave me repetitive responses saying I was too late, even though the evidence she provided shows a signature next to the 16th of January! 

No Legal Paperwork:
In the UK, the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 says a company MUST give you a specific Cancellation Form and the full terms in a way you can keep, like a PDF. Optima never did this. The only thing I could see on my file when I logged into Premium Credit was my certification of signature but not a full contract. They think they can ignore these rules because students might not know their rights, but without that paperwork, the law actually gives you up to 12 months to cancel.

Credit Agreements without Consent:
The most shocking part is that after my Premium Credit was already cancelled and no payment was due, Optima set up a brand new Credit Agreement in my name on the 28th of February without asking me. Their own finance company even sent an email saying my first agreement was cancelled. Despite this, Optima is still trying to chase me for a £4,500 debt for a course that had not even started. I have cancelled my Direct Debit and reported them to the Financial Ombudsman Service and Trading Standards. Do not let them rush you or pressure you. They are counting on you not knowing the law so they can take your money.

⚠️ UPDATE: Final Outcome & Serious Warning to future students

After a month of fighting, Optima IT finally voided my debt, but only because I caught them in multiple legal contradictions. If you are looking to start a career here, read this first especially if you are using their finance:
• The "Verbal Enrolment" Trap: Optima tried to use a "verbal yes" from a quick phone call during a finance set up on the 13th to claim my 14-day cooling-off period had already started. No other reputable company does this. They used the word "enrolled" as a cover to cheat me out of my legal rights before I had even seen or signed a single term or condition. Despite PCL stating they never provided the paperwork until the 14th meant my cooling off period started on the 15th not the 13th.

• The Signature Lie: I didn’t actually sign the contract until the 16th. Their own staff, Ali Irki, even confirmed on that call that my start date was the 17th. Despite this, staff like Louise tried to backdate everything to the 13th just to tell me I was "too late" to cancel.

• The "Two-Face" Tactic: When they are selling to you, the finance and the course are one package. The second you try to cancel, the Resolutions Manager (Dean Woods) will claim they are "entirely separate companies" so the 13th day cooling off period was apparently theirs so they can dodge responsibility and leave you stuck with the debt. Which makes no sense cause if I had to cancel with either one of them it’ll affect both if the companies.

• Illegal Credit Moves: Most shockingly, after my finance was officially cancelled on the 16th of February, Optima secretly told the bank to reinstate the debt in my name on the 20th of February without my consent or a new signature. Which almost resulted in unauthorised "hard search" on my credit file.
But they apologised for NONE of it.

MY ADVICE: Do not trust them when they say "contact us for support" regarding cancellations. Ali Irki never explained the refund steps, and when the time came, they simply "closed the door" on communication.
Demand the written refund policies for BOTH Optima and the finance company before you give them any details.

Excellent customer service understand what the student requires and advice

I had looked at many courses and expressed interest. However, from the sales team to the introduction, Optima have been transparent and informative. They have made it clear that you will be fully supported and all you have to give in return is your sweat. Rachel in support has particularly been helpful and this has provided me further assurance and confidence. First class.

Please its my request to all that do not go by this company to do any course as its a trap. I enrolled myself with them to do a course but due to my health reason I requested them to cancel my course and that was after 14 day period they said i cannot do that and cannot refund my money as well even though my case was a genuine case. Despite many requests they still kept on insisting that it is my fault and they cannot refund my money. This is clearly a money making company in name of a course and giving false picture and hope to customers. DO not fall in this trap.

It's a shame that I have to write this as I have been left with no option!! My husband enrolled Dec2025, just week before Christmas and clearly stated to Optima that he recently (Aug 2025) had an acute brain stroke and might not be able to start depending on his medical condition as the course was meant to start in Feb 2026.
We called them in Jan 2026 to inform that my husband won't be able to start and the fees needs to stopped asap.
I was told by Optima that they cannot stop the fees but after many calls i was finally arranged the call by Dean, i told him the whole story about my husband's situation but since he hasn't spoken to us still i called him and waited for him to call as i was told that he is busy and he will call when he is freeand today we were told that nothing can be done. We will have to pay the fees whether my husband attends the lessons or not.
I also spoke to Payment assist company who manages the fees etc and they said that the Optima needs to email them to stop the payment but Optima has been mentally troubling us and are not supportive at all.
It's a shame that such a reknowned Educational Company/provider has no emphathy and consideration for their clients who are going through severe medical conditions and fall in disability category.
I seriously hope that after reading this my husband's situation will be taken into consideration.
