MYOB have removed a key feature of…

MYOB have removed a key feature of emailing invoices and are holding it as hostage, demanding users adopt and verify for a separate, chargeable service of online payments (1.8% of invoice value + .25 per transaction). They are saying it is a service update, but it feels more like a blackmail tactic – comply with our new demands and potentially expose yourself to new fees or lose functionality you already paid for.

30 years with MYOB and me be soon to be my last

I have been with MYOB for well over 30 years and I can honestly say that they are getting worse and worse with customer service, if indeed you can ever get anyone to call or talk to you. A month ago, I started getting a message that MYOB had to verify my account and that if I didn't do this, our MYOB account functionality would be restricted. I submitted documents that i thought they wanted, but we were restricted. It took half a day to eventually speak to someone at MYOB, that asked for a certified copy of my company Trust Deed. I spoke to my accountant and he said it is a scam. But it was not.

I won't go into the details but I told MYOB that they had no right to such private and confidential information. Even my accountant agreed. I kicked up a big argument about it and asked MYOB what they would do to protect my information and the deed, but they would not reply. Instead, they did lift the invoice restrictions.

I thought that was it, but a few days later, the "restriction" message appeared again, even though I had already sent them a copy of our Trust Deed. The same message warned that if we did not send them a copy, our account would be restricted again in 14 days. And guess what, in 14 days, it was restricted.

I went onto the CHAT box and managed to speak to someone called An at MYOB that said they may not have had time to review my documents yet. I was hopping mad! Why would MYOB ask for it withini 14 days, get everything in 14 days, and still restict an account? Clearly they do not have the personnel to handle clients!

MYOB told me that they have to check up and verify clients to make sure they are not doing fraudulent activities. I asked An, "What do you mean, you are asking for this after 25 years?!?" That is really amateur. They clearly ask for unrealistic deadlines that they can't deliver on. She replied that it was like a security check for opening a bank account. To which I replied again, my bank account has been open since August 2004! It's a bit late to check now :)

Totally amateur. I have looked at moving to Xero for a long time and now I know why so many companies are crossing over.

An absolute con job

An absolute con job. They trick you into believing they do what you want, but they don't. And then they make it extremely difficult to get support. I just paid for 12 months of service for something that didn't work after 5 minutes.

Seems like a lot of anger towards MYOB…

Seems like a lot of anger towards MYOB has been expressed on their forum and they continue to ignore it. Feedback from reps seems to be the same, “just suck it up buttercup.” ‘Secure invoicing’ that nobody wants or asked for. Also, have a look at the 5 STAR reviews, looks like it’s one MYOB worker pushing/paying for positive reviews about their own individual service. This company is a joke.

MYOB SOLO - Dissapointing

MYOB SOLO: This is specifically Myob Solo. It is a new product from Myob specifically for "Solo" businesses with no other support. So they advertise how user friendly it is and it comes with a 12 month $12 starting price tag. Sounds great - just what I need (as a small business startup.
Problem is "somewhere" in the T&C or "smallprint" is hidden that this is i) not a cloud base app and it cannot be shared with your accountant at all!
They do say somewhere that you can share the Reports with your accountant (or with anybody) which stands to reason because they are likely PDF documents which of course can be shared. But Accountant cannot access MYOB SOLO to help us. And of course the $12 is also non refundable so I am about 3 hours and $12 down.
Come on guys - you can do better than that! Anything above that I have wrong - is possible but likely because it's "hidden" in the fine print.

We had a simple question on STP

We had a simple question on STP, can myob tell me if we are setup for STP, we had an idiot staff member John saying that they cannot answer this question because i am not the authorised contact, can you see how stupid this is in that I can access all of myob, create pay runs, generate Journals, and yet John will not let me know if we have STP setup, I explained to John the the authorised contact is the owner of the business and how STP is the last thing on his mind, that is why he has authorised me to use myob. Further John is the sole decision maker, there is no supervisor or manager which we can speak to about this, so we have unsupervised low level staff making decisions (how cheap is that) and unheard of. The CEO should take all the blame for this circus. Bad customer service, will not speak to you unless you are the main account holder, so why do they give us access if they will not speak with a user??? That just puzzles me, I have gone through the process of getting permissions from the main user and then myob will not talk to me. Honestly just stay away from MYOP, Quickbooks are great, Xero are great and there is no we need to speak with the account holder to answer question with these two platforms, MYOB is really outdated, Their bank recs are so painful, and it should really be retired, because they have a desktop and a cloud solution and both are different, such as you can do things on the desktop version which you cannot do on the internet version, it really is a mashup, as an example you can hide transactions in the desktop version not in the internet version, it just baffles the brain,

Horrible software

Horrible software, it has terrible customization, its awkward and cumbersome and just difficult to use. The templates suck, everything looks horrendous when converted to a PDF, formatting sucks. I wish my company would change platforms cause its garbage. Hands down the worst software i've used...

It frustrates me so much i specifically created an account just to leave a bad review. ugh....

MYOB – Substantial mathematical inaccuracy in calculations

Business Insight calculations are wrong, MYOB know, and don’t care!

After checking Item profit margins on MYOB Business Insights, I was about to discipline a staff member for not marking up according to company policy. On checking I found that if I buy an item for $1 and sell it for $2, MYOB Business Insights tells me I’ve made a profit of $0.90 or 45%, clearly, WRONG.

I immediately made multiple approaches to MYOB and finally spoke to the product specialist who acknowledged that it has been wrongly calculating GP’s for a long time. If I wanted the correct result, I should generate a Report and not rely on Business Insights. I suggested that it was unacceptable for an accounting package to knowingly include incorrect calculations, and this should be fixed immediately. He seemed disinterested and said he would forward it as a “suggestion” to the development team. I’ve posted the full details, including an example on their community site and they’ve made no further comment.

Don’t waste your time or money

Don’t waste your time or money no matter what MYOB offer, over seas support which don’t care and send you in circles,The product has lots of issues and bugs at one stage I has 7 different business in my account an got told it was my fault, just don’t use,took the money from my account and told me it was have not paid and now there ringing me to pay my overdue account -which I paid for

do not sign up for myob advanced

do not sign up for myob advanced. they only care about taking your money and delivering a product thats not fit for your business. they sell you the world but you end up with a nightmare and some 40,000 dollars later they still rob you.
it has been the worst experience in our business life. All our staff threatened to quit if we went live with advanced as the system was so difficult to use, they refused to use it.
we were told before we signed up it would do everything, we needed it to do from making pricing easy to access being restricted to certain staff. what a joke. constant user access issues and log in problems. well what a load of hogwash. pricing was 10 times as hard and had to open 6 different screens to change one price. the training they get you to do is a joke and doesn't help to show you how to use the system. every part of the software is a big rabbit hole that you do not want to go down. the best advice i can give is stay the crap away from myob advance!!! you will regret it and end up with a poo fight on your hands

Nightmare

All the things they say they can will do via their emails and messaging isn't true. Totally disgraceful, taking up so much time. It used to be simple. Now it's a nightmare. It's quite difficult to find contacts always referring to the AI assistant. AI assistant sends you in circles, gives you message saying you can do it like this and well no that doesn't work, then sends you back to the beginning.
Did I say nightmare ...
Note too it would appear help is now in the Philippines... Difficult to understand when you finally find a way to contact somebody.

Simple requests are too hard for MYOB Support

I have been trying to get a simple administrative change done for months. Emailed requests are not addressed, and when I call and complain, everything gets reset for another 5 day delay gets asked a question. Emails are lost. It is impossible to talk to anyone who can help. Call Centre staff (I've spoken to plenty) try to help but cannot get anything done.

Absolutely disgraceful company

Absolutely disgraceful company. Under their new system, I have to upgrade and provide drivers licence, date of birth etc in order to email invoices. There is no need for MYOB to ask for and hold such personal information in order to email an invoice to a customer. Another reason for doing this is that you also sign a direct debit agreement so they can take fees from your account for online payments. I did not ask for this or even want this but have been forced to sign up in order to email invoices. If you are looking for accounting platform, I would suggest looking at other options.

I have been working with Myob software for 16 years! as of this week! Nov 2024 with the new updates! DO NOT GO ANYWHERE NEAR MYOB SOFTWARE! Multi Company Group! Myob has become unusable for anyone who has more than one Company file! Myob you have done this to yourself! Not listening to your clients! We are leaving in droves! BYE MYOB

We have been using MYOB for more than…

We have been using MYOB for more than 10 years now. So far it has been ok, not great, not amazing, but it did the basic stuff ok. But now that Myob has changed their online login policies, MYOB has become an absolute nightmare to work with. We run several company files and everytime we switch companies the entire login process with security code etc. starts again. We're now spending a big portion of our working day just loging into Myob companies. On top of that, if you stop working for half an hour on a company file because you go for lunch, or a coffee, or do something else than being on your computer, Myob freezes and we have to do the whole painful login process again for every company. On top of that, Myob freezes quite often just in the middle of work - only solution is shutting it down and start logging in again.
Myob has become a huge waste of time. The product was never great but now it's absolute crap....

As a new customer of MYOB

As a new customer of MYOB, I’ve been thoroughly impressed with how easy and intuitive the app is to use. The setup was seamless, and I was up and running in no time. I’m not an expert in accounting, but MYOB made it really simple to manage my business finances right from the start. Thanks to Shanika Jayawickrama she explained and clarified all my doubts with patience. Highly recommend her.

Can’t check your emails!!!

No ability to see emails / quotes / invoices you’ve sent clients! (without paying for the premier edition). Absolute joke. 2 years of trying to use Myob after my accountant put me on it. Nothing but issues as a small business owner in construction.
