Really helpful and patient staff. We got a great price for our trade in and are delighted with the car we chose.

I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience selling my car to Motorpoint.

I got my initial valuation online and then booked an appointment to take the car in. By the time I went along, I’d added a couple of hundred miles to the mileage, so they made a small adjustment to the valuation. This was minimal and completely fair.

They checked the car over, took the keys and pretty much honoured the original valuation I’d been given. There was no hassle, no pressure and no awkward negotiating, the whole process was incredibly straightforward and exactly as I’d been told it would be.

I was also really pleased with the price I received for my car. From getting the initial valuation through to handing over the keys and completing the sale, everything was smooth and stress-free.

It’s not often you can say a car-selling experience was actually enjoyable, but this one really was! I’d definitely recommend Motorpoint to anyone thinking of selling their car.

Straightforward purchase with helpful staff

Both sales associates I dealt with, Mark and Louie, were attentive , professional and gave excellent customer service. After a terrible experience with another dealership, it was refreshing to find a company and associates that truly did care about the customer. I recommended motorpoint to my father who called in and purchased his new car the following day.

Motorpoint made sure everything was ready to go and had the car clean and tidy, The staff were very friendly and helpful with any questions or advice i needed on the car i had bought. Got the car at a great price and was very happy with the overall experience would definitely recommend buying from them again.

- No chance to test drive because car imported from other site.
- Salesman had limited info on how to drive this hybrid car. We had to learn from scratch and still haven’t mastered all the key features.
- Final process took 2 hours with most admin already done in advance. The sales info claimed it would take 15 mins.
Overall satisfied with end result but final completion process could be more streamlined.

After getting home and trying to purchase a service plan with Kia there is an issue as to whether the car is covered under their 10 year warranty due to incomplete first service details and whether Motorpoint put in the proper oil filter. I’ve spent the last 2 days trying to come to a solution.

Couldn't praise the staff more highly, especially Sanjay who was an absolute star, Craig was also very helpful. Could not have been more patient and helpful. The company should be proud they have staff like this. Would definitely recommend them.

Although I made arrangements to visit
Motorpoint at the time set by them,
the car was not ready the battery was empty of charge. This delayed the hand over by a few hours. The saviour of the hand over was Motorpoint agreed to pay road tax for a year. If it had not been for this, I would have given less stars. Everything else regarding the sale/hand over was very good very easy and smooth operation.

I bought a car on 20th July and didn't notice initially that it has a problem with one of the alloy wheels. Informed the salesman of it 2 days after purchase with the expectation of it being replaced. Contacted their after sales manager who has never replied to my email. Car was taken to dealership on 31st July for an appointment to try to rectify the issue, the issue is still there. Promised that someone would be in touch to follow up and provide a solution, this has not happened. Subsequently emailed the service manager again as well as head office. Still no contact from them. Quck enough to take people's money off them without providing basic service expected under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. I certainly would not recommend buying from this company.

Great cars, very good on price and staff are just the best. This is my second car from Motorpoint and when it comes to renewal, I will go back as i know they will take great care of me as a customer. Can really recommend Motorpoint, especially in Edinburgh

Excellent process start to finish, I used the website to select the car I wanted and they shipped it up to Edinburgh for me to collect. Car was ready earlier than planned which was great however I could only come up on the scheduled day for work commitments. I was a little worried that there was no description of the cars condition on there website however it looking good from the pictures but still you don't see everything in a photo, however I was reassured on the phone that they don't itemise dents or wheel curbs as this work is all carried out prior to sale which is fantastic! You can ask if it had any work done, the on I purchased had one minor dent on the door but this was fixed prior to collection. The car was exactly how it was described and it was a speedy handover. Staff in Edinburgh and staff on the phone were very helpful and polite. Would highly recommend. Thank you

Fantastic from start to finish

I am leaving this review in the hope it saves another young person going through the same experience as my daughter. Motorpoint Edinburgh sold my daughter a faulty vehicle, we were told that it had gone through its pre-delivery checks twice (as the car actually came over from their Glasgow Dealership, it was checked there and then again when it arrived in Edinburgh). As my daughter was too young to test drive the car, I did it with her in passenger seat. It was at rush hour, so we didn't get out of 3rd gear and the car seemed fine. A loud noise coming from under hood, but we put it down to the fan cooling the engine. Anyway, she had the car for 24 hours before she had to hand it back to the dealership with a clutch fault. They had the car for two weeks, as every time they fixed something, another fault was found by their own mechanics - basically it needed a new clutch, a new gearbox and a new clutch pipe - the car had only done 32,000 miles. To their credit, Motorpoint offered my daughter the opportunity to pick another vehicle, to replace the faulty one. They offered her money off the new car and refunded her some of the costs she had incurred for deposits and insurance etc.. as a goodwill gesture, which we appreciated, and why I have given 2 stars instead of 1. This vehicle also has faults, not as bad as the first, but they arranged a free 15 month warranty - so when she takes it back to be repaired it will be covered. However, she had fitted her black box to the first faulty vehicle, and when she took delivery of her new vehicle, Motorpoint failed to hand over her black box. As her insurer won't send her a new black box as the previous one is still sending a GPS location signal, they are refusing to replace it. The GPS signal is showing that it is at Motorpoint Edinburgh - but the dealership are claiming that it isn't there ! So her insurance has now been cancelled, once again due to the incompetence of Motorpoint Edinburgh. She is now looking to sell the car as she can no longer afford to insure it. A very traumatic experience for her and all that have been involved.

I visited Motorpoint in Portobello on Saturday 13 June. The showroom was recommended to me by a friend for the low-pressure support that they received to find a car. The saleman who welcomed me, Lewis Threlfall, could not have been more helpful. He gave me lots of support, provided useful information and listened to what I was looking for without an agenda. I had full freedom to look at the cars that interested me and take my time. Having had this experience, I would recommend Motorpoint in Portobello to anyone who is looking to shop for a car without the hard sell. Thanks so much for all your help, Lewis!
