As we’ve explained, variations can occur during binding and trimming due to industry wide tolerances. This means that sometimes edges may appear uneven, which is a normal part of the printing process. Beware of estimated delivery times

I have been helping clients print books for over 15 years in Canada, the US and Europe. Never have I had such poor customer service. A book that I was originally told would ship December 11 actually shipped January 13. I was informed of the initial delay of one week but not of subsequent problems.
When I followed up, I received a 5% refund. This was welcome but didn't make up for my client's disappointment. I understand that Christmas is a busy time but would have expected this to be reflected in the initial schedule. Always better to under-promise and then over-deliver.

Hi Lynn, Thank you for sharing your feedback and for outlining your experience so clearly. We’re sorry that the estimated shipping dates for this order had to be revised and that this caused disappointment for both you and your client.
Our delivery dates are estimates based on production capacity at the time an order is placed. During particularly busy peak periods, such as the festive season, schedules can change as we replan production to accommodate volume and unforeseen factors. While we always aim to communicate updates as quickly as possible, during these periods we may not be able to do so as promptly as we normally would. For this reason, we strongly encourage customers to let us know about any fixed or critical deadlines at the very start of the order process, as once an order is in production it can become difficult, for us to make adjustments later on. That said, we understand your point about expectation setting, and we appreciate you taking the time to share this perspective.
We’re glad the goodwill refund was received and despite the challenges around timing, we hope you’re pleased with the finished books.

Shipping & Printing

The shipping/delivery date got bumped 2 times. Once the order arrived, there was a printing error.

Hi Rose, Thank you for your patience while we worked through this with you. We’re sorry that the Estimated delivery dates had to be revised during our busiest peak season and that you experienced a pagination issue once your order arrived.
From time to time, production schedules do need to be adjusted, and occasionally pages can become mixed during the binding process. While this can happen in print production, we understand how disappointing it is when it affects a finished order. When something does go wrong, we pride ourselves on putting it right as quickly as possible.
We appreciate your understanding and hope that once everything is resolved, you’ll feel satisfied with the final outcome.

The books were perfect

The books were perfect! They were beautifully printed and finished. I would definitely get work done there again. Although I had hoped to present these as a Christmas gift, they arrived 3 weeks too late, so will know better next time to give more lead time.

Not worth it

This is probably my last book with you folks. While I have found the people I’ve dealt with to be friendly and helpful, twice the books have been printed on very heavy paper which makes them heavy to hold, and expensive to ship. Not worth it.

We truly appreciate your kind words about our team, that means a lot to us. Looking back at your order history, it looks like this book was printed on the same paper stock you selected back in January 2024. At the time, you mentioned it felt a little heavy, and discussed reaching out again if you decided to explore other options. A lighter stock, such as 70lb, may be more suitable for what you’re aiming to achieve in terms of weight and shipping costs. We can also see that for your last two orders, you selected a 60lb Uncoated, which may be closer to what you’re looking for overall?
It’s also worth keeping in mind that paper weight can naturally vary by approximately ±10lb, as it’s a manufactured material, which can sometimes make a noticeable difference in the feel of the finished book. We’re always here to help you find the best setup for your project, and we’d be more than happy to talk through paper options in advance if you decide to print again.

Great for the prince

The quality of the print as well as the customer experience during creation and after purchase is great. There is some visible glue between pages at the spine as well of issues in cropping in the spine but all in all I still love the final product!

First order from mixam ever

First order from mixam ever. Good quality prints for a comic book run. There were small dings and rips which I'm sure if i was a seller I'd be unhappy about so maybe ensure you have QA assurances or set customer expectations. Was not expecting much but this was still above expectations.

Growing increasingly upset

After placing my order on November 28th it has yet to arrive and my clients are become upset. I was finally told it would ship on the 15th and now today apparently it’s the 21st.
I’m very upset by this!

Thank you for your message, and we’re sorry for the continued delay and the impact this has had on your clients.
As advised previously, all delivery dates provided are estimated. We’d also like to note that, as mentioned in another review you left on the 5th, there were artwork issues affecting part of the files supplied, which meant we weren’t able to move forward with printing straight away. This has since been fully resolved.
Your order is now moving through the production process. While we are still catching up following the high volume of orders placed during the December period, we’re actively working to complete and dispatch orders as quickly as possible.
We understand how frustrating shifting timelines can be, especially when you’re working to client deadlines, and we appreciate your patience while we get this finalized for you.

Excellent quality printing

Excellent quality printing, packaging and delivery. Company could do a better job of estimating delivery times but I ordered in a busy time of year in December. Delivery date was changed 4 times. Nevertheless, their process is excellent and the quality of the product the same. I'm not sure there is a better company in Canada that does what Mixam does.

Highly recommended!

There was a slight delay in getting the prints delivered but when I called, they expedited it. The customer care from beginning to end was fantastic and the product is phenomenal. I highly recommend this print service.

My books were delayed 3 times..

My books were delayed 3 times... the quality this time (this is my second book with them) was not as good as the first book. Some pages slightly wrinkled, corners a little rough, end pages not completely glued down. Some may be due to shipping. I will continue to use them, but this time was a bit less than exemplary.

My estimated delivery date was always…

My estimated delivery date was always pushed back without notice. I constantly had to reach out to the team myself to ask for a new estimated delivery date. My order was small and confirmed in the beginning of November, so before the Holiday season, but my initial delivery date was pushed back an entire month.

The book turned out well but there were…

The book turned out well but there were four successive delays from the estimated delivery date. So a Christmas present didn’t arrive until after Christmas. Disappointing for sure.

We’re sorry that the delivery didn’t arrive in time for Christmas and understand how disappointing that must have been, especially for a gift. We do want to reassure you that while this was our busiest peak period, your estimated delivery dates were revised only twice, and we kept you informed on both occasions.
Once your deadline was advised to us for the first time, we also explained that we may not be able to guarantee a Christmas delivery due to the timing. At that point, earlier in December, we did offer the option to cancel and receive a full refund, but you kindly chose to continue with the order.
We also recommend letting us know about any firm deadlines as early as possible, as outlined on our Shipping Support page, so we can advise on the best options from the outset. That said, we’re pleased that your order was shipped earlier than the second revised estimate. Thank you again for your understanding, and for choosing to print with us.

The quality of the book pages and cover…

The quality of the book pages and cover appears good at first glance. My only concerns is that the pages are not glued to the back spine, if the book was held by the hard cover and inverted, I imagine all the pages would rip out of the book. Mixam should look into a future fix for this problem as this would surely by a disaster with larger books.
Also expect timelines for delivery much later than predicted. My recipe book was originally scheduled to arrive early December. I wanted to give as gifts for all my friends and family but did not arrive until first week of January.
Overall quality still reasonable and I would probably use them again as they were the only company I found that would accept small orders (15 books).

Regarding your concern, hardcover inner pages are held in place by the fixed endpapers, which allow the book to open and close smoothly. If the inner pages were glued directly to the spine, the covers and pages wouldn't be able to open properly. The binding should be secure enough to hold everything in place, but books are not typically designed to be inverted or held up like that. If you're still concerned, please follow the instructions in your review invitation email and share any images with us so we can investigate further and offer support.
As for the delivery, we understand that December can be a busy month, and timelines can sometimes shift. We're sorry for any inconvenience caused, but we're happy the books reached you in the end. Thanks again for your comments, and we hope to work with you again soon.
