Lovely food lovely service .Just one criticism I have been teetotal for 6 years .I ordered the peppercorn sauce luckily tasted it first before putting on my food it had alcohol in it it should be made clear or the staff inform you .I checked when I got home on ingredients and it does contain congac or brandy .

Went to the Newbury Park restaurant on Sunday 26th July. We had delicious food, everything was excellent. The service was fantastic, we had a chap called Ellis look after us. He was absolutely brilliant, nothing was too much trouble, he made our visit a memorable one, we even had the manager check if everything was to our satisfaction, this makes the dining experience special. Excellent few hours with close friends made a very happy memory.

Haywards Heath branch for a mid week lunch. Table of 12 ladies. We were all looked after by Billy. Service was excellent and a great choice from the set menu. Can recommend the veggie burger but the steaks were all cooked to perfection. We will definitely be back.

This is definitely my Favourite Steak Restaurant with a Lunch offer extending to 4pm. Great well informed Staff with a Fantastic Menu....I take this Restaurant over the Ivy in Leeds. Do yourself a favour and check it out. Oh and btw I am wearing Shorts in this Hot Weather but I am Clean and Tidy and Smell Good. Use Common Sense. My Server today is Katie who is really Friendly, informed and efficient.

bristol branch on church green is in a lovely hotel. it was busy because of graduation season. there was 2 waiters working really hard. the meal was average. was not impressed as asked for potatoes with no butter, waiter came back and said the chef was unable to do this! not the
poor young waiters fault but won’t rush back as only had half a meal and there is better steak restaurants around!

We had a lovely lady who advised us during our very 1st visit.
She was knowledgeable and talked us through the ordering process
Her name was Wez and she was lovely, friendly and patient.
The food was AMAZING we really enjoyed it

The STEAK IS AWFUL, FULL OF GRISEL, INEDIBLE.....TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY.

Overcooked fillet steak, replaced with a slightly less overcooked steak. Fries drenched in salt, onion loaf looked and tasted like it was a few days old! What’s happened to this once our favourite place to visit but not any longer. I can cook a better meal myself for a fraction of their prices. The meal was to celebrate my birthday but we were very disappointed.. we visited the Cheshire Oaks branch

Great food, great service.

I went to the restaurant in The Oracle, and I have no complaints.

I arrived for my 7:00 pm booking after travelling for 45 minutes, only to be told at reception that the restaurant was not serving because the kitchen extractor fan was not working.

I completely understand that unexpected equipment failures can happen. However, what I cannot understand is why nobody contacted me before I set off. A simple phone call or message would have saved me a 45-minute journey and the inconvenience of arriving only to be turned away.

I specifically raised this with the member of staff at reception, as I feel the lack of communication was unacceptable. The restaurant had my booking details and could easily have informed me that it would be unable to honour my reservation.

As a result, I wasted both my time and travel and was left having to make alternative arrangements at short notice. I would appreciate an explanation for why customers were not contacted and what you intend to do to put this right. This was a birthday celebration that was completely ruined not acceptable no duty of care to customer in informing them prior of issue unacceptable
And then send me a email to say I have cancelled my booking absolutely obsurd!

This was our second visit to the Portsmouth branch, and unfortunately it will be our last.

There were some positives. The waiters were polite and friendly, and there were parts of the meal that we enjoyed. However, the service was extremely slow from start to finish and completely overshadowed the experience.

My steak was cooked much more well done than the medium-rare I had ordered. My son’s mac and cheese was served in the hot metal dish it was cooked in rather than being transferred to a plate, which wasn’t appropriate, especially for a child.

After our starters, we weren’t given fresh cutlery or a steak knife for our main course, so we ended up taking cutlery from another table ourselves. We ordered a bottle of red wine but were brought a bottle of rosé instead. It also took three separate requests before our son finally received his glass of lemonade.

Food arrived at our table that we hadn’t ordered, and, even more frustratingly, my lobster tails were completely forgotten. They had to rush them through after we reminded them, but they arrived barely cooked and were far too salty to enjoy.

To finish the evening, we had to ask for the bill three separate times before it was brought to us.

Overall, we left feeling extremely disappointed. The total bill came to £233, which was incredibly poor value for the experience we received. Given the number of mistakes, the slow service, the forgotten items, and the poor quality of some of the food, the meal certainly didn’t feel worth anywhere near that amount.

This is now our second disappointing visit, so it’s clear these aren’t isolated issues. It’s a real shame because the restaurant has potential, but the consistently poor service and lack of attention to detail have completely put us off. Sadly, we won’t be returning, and based on our experience, we cannot recommend the Portsmouth branch to others until significant improvements are made.

Visited Nunthorpe branch on 13th July. I was so looking forward to go as I had heard positive reviews about the place.
Initially we were shown to a table that seemed to be squeezed into a tight space and had no room as the people on the next table were practically on top on the designated table. Couldn’t understand this as there were plenty of free tables with plenty of space. We asked to be moved and the server obliged. Although I have to say the tables are very small with not much room.
We were provided with the menus but not asked if we would like a drink whilst we perused the menu. Minutes later the server came back for our order but we hadn’t even read the menu fully.
The server came back and to her credit she was very pleasant and asked if we were celebrating anything (which we were).
So I ordered the steak/cocktail option and my partner ordered the 50 day aged rib eye and a soft drink.
We waited ages for our drink but it came eventually with an apology for the delay.
Whilst waiting I had time to take in my surroundings and I was aghast to discover filthy floors and carpet.
The meal came after some wait (again an apology for the delay).
So now to the meal. My partner and I have never in our lives had a meal cooked in so much salt. Both steaks were chewy and difficult to eat and I find it hard to believe they were 50 and 30 day matured. I have had and cooked better steaks from a supermarket. In order to try and take away the taste of the salt we both ordered a mini dessert and coffee and I have to say both were nice.
Whilst waiting for the dessert I was given a free dessert treat for my birthday which was a lovely gesture. Unfortunately this did not make up for the rest of our experience.
We paid the bill and left feeling thoroughly dissapointed with our meal, the cleanliness of the restaurant and the very slow service.
Later that evening I had an upset stomach which I can only attribute to the excessively salted food.
At home I pondered on what we paid and thought something was not right only to check the bill and found we had been overcharged. 3 phone calls and an email later I received a refund.
Would I visit again - no.
Do I think it’s value for money - no
Do I think the standard of food is good - no
Are the staff friendly - yes but unfortunately that does not make up for everything else

after several visits, I thought the food and service was excellent then obviously once you become a regular they don’t seem to care sit their ages with no food no order no drink but till a expensive bill 

Absolutely beautiful food and good service, the only let down was the appearance/dress code that was not enforced, granted it was a warm evening, but that's still not an excuse to allow what they did, after looking at the website and seeing the apprent enforced dress code, we made the effort, but were surrounded by people wearing tracksuits, sportswear, gym leggings, baseball caps, shorts and dirty sports trainers.
Like I said, it was a warm evening, so I sort of expected maybe some leeway, for example for example short sleeve shirts, smart chino shorts, loose dresses.
After seeing the website and how they apparently enforced the dress code, we felt over dressed and very let down, it was like walking into a McDonald's, but having to pay hundreds for the experience.
Won't be returning, which is a shame as the food was beautiful

Bagshot branch. Staff very good / nice, quality of food was very good also, not the cheapest, but still fair value one would say. Would recommend. Inside could do with a refurb!

Fabulous meal yet again! Louanne made my uncles 80th birthday meal extra special as always - what a super star!

Although the food and service was reasonable, to be charged £13.70 for a medium size glass of Sauvignon Blanc seems somewhat excessive,especially as unless you studied the wine menu before ordering at the bar the prices are far from obvious.

Heard people rave about this restaurant so thought we'd give it a try. Well what a let down it was. The steaks are way over priced, there is nothing extra special about them than a pub steak. Doesn't come with the usual steak meal ie mushrooms onions etc. Over 40 quid for a steak can't be justified.But it does come with a wedge of lettuce (wow). No matter how you dress it up, its a bowl of lettuce. Looked at menu and left. Very over rated restaurant. Would not visit or recommend.

We arrived at the restaurant at Lowton, Warrington. The place had about 8-10 diners yet when we were seated at our table the carpet was filthy. It had food trodden into the carpet and frankly it smelled. I nipped to the ladies and on the way back to our table in the quieter part of the restaurant where nobody was sitting there was so much food on the floor it was embarrassing.
We asked to move tables as the carpet smelled really bad by the double doors at the front.
With our mains we ordered some charcoaled vegetables which were really awful, over cooked and warmed through.
We normally go to the Parbold branch but as we were passing we decided to give it a go. We won’t be making that mistake again:

I have been to Millar and Carter several times. Ifact my first visit several years ago to Newcastle got me hooked. Well all I can say is things aren't what they were. The steak is still very good but the rest of the meal tasted like it was made hours before and just kept warm. And at about £75 each it was really disappointing. So much so I have deleted the app and shall never visit again.
