I tried calling an assigned adjuster…
I tried calling an assigned adjuster multiple times and left voicemails with no confirmation or call back. I decided to get to customer service to see if I could get any assistance on a claim and Ian was very happy and willing to help and assist. We tried getting in contact with the assigned adjuster since Ian said they should be available but turns out that they just did not want to talk to me. Ian was very helpful on confirming my questions and concerns, adding additional information and also gave me a manager contact information. Ian went above and beyond today with assisting me and my client's claim and I appreciate that a lot. Some adjusters can learn a thing or two from him.

Not very updated even though is a online company.
Competitive on the prices, bud costumer service is very bad, as well as their website, every time you want to do any change you have to call or fill a form, making the processes not easy to be done compared with other companies, I just hope they make easier in case of any claim.

Great experience. Great rates. Ongoing positive experience with Mile auto. They helped me when I bought my traded in my car and needed to change my insurance coverage to my new vehicle and ran into some questions. Customer service was responsive through email and got back to me within the day.

Totally expensive premium.
This company rate changes based on the mileage you driving. First month low premium and chares much more if you drive more mileage than the first month. I canceled the policy but they still charged fee about half of premium. Actually this company was more expensive than major company. I would never go back to this company and totally not recommend.

If you are not a low mileage driver, traditional insurance would be a better fit. But, for the tens of thousands of drivers across the country who trust Mile Auto for their low-mileage driving, it's a perfect fit. I called to update my credit card and ended up getting a discount!…
I called Mile Auto to update my payment information and asked why my rate increased? Cami said was standard increase for my state. I asked if there was any way to get my rate lowered and Cami asked if I was married and I said yes which got me a discount! My insurance agent had listed me as single when I went to Mile Auto for some reason. I could have had this discount all along! Thank you, Cami for helping me. It pays to ask questions and she was so helpful. Mile Auto's customer service is great!

Customer support is fabulous
Customer support is fabulous! At first, I was surprised there was no online app to handle my Mile Auto payments, view my policy, etc. Then, I realized, it's actually a blessing! It's so friendly and efficient to call someone on the phone! You don't need to worry about navigating a confusing web app or mobile app. I just spoke to Klyde and he was extremely helpful in changing my payment method and explained how payment methods are set up within the system-- only one payment method allowed, which is nice and simple. In this day and age we need more simplicity and more human contact! Agents can also email you things -- such as your policy documents. They can also help if, for some reason, you're unable to take an odometer photo by the deadline. Mile Auto is great!

Mile Auto insurance is a SCAM, drove 38 miles, cost $55
Mile Auto insurance is a SCAM. DO NOT waste your time with this company. My 1999 Ford Truck was driven 38 miles in a month, and the insurance premium was $55. I'm retired with a PERFECT driving record.
How did they raise the $16 base charge, plus the 57 cent mileage charge up to $55? They added these HIDDEN FEES:
Anti Theft Fee $2.50
Installment Fee $5.00
Mileage Data Capture Fee $6.00
Policy Administration Fee $25.00
There is nothing in their signup papers about a $25/month "policy administration fee".
Also, since you have to email a picture of your odometer every month, so they can figure out the mileage cost, every policy will be charged the $5.00 "installment fee".
EVEN WORSE... They only give you THREE DAYS to email your odometer photo, or they charge you for 2.000 miles that month, with a huge mileage fee.
That happened to me once, since I HAD two cars insured by Mile Auto, and each odometer photo is due on a different date.
This company is a 100% SCAM! They ADD FEES, until your cost EXACTLY equals a real insurance company, like progressive or E-surance.
It is so much hassle and worry to sign up (only over the phone - no online anything!), then have to worry if you missed your three day window for the odometer photo.
It sounds great, only pay 15 cents per mile that you drive in a month... then where the H#LL did the other fees come from, so your cost EXACTLY EQUALS a REAL INSURANCE company!?!?!?!?!?!
I'm in a rage about being ripped off, after all this time and effort to sign up, and send in all these odometer photos.
Please DO NOT waste your time, thinking you will save a DIME with this scammer "Mile Auto".
I would attach a photo of the 38 miles driven/$55 monthly bill, if I could, but I can't using this browser. P.S. The more sporty cars, like 2009 Honda Accord, have a monthly "base charge" of $26, WITH the other fees added on top. So, there is no way to win with this company

Dear Mr. Farm Guy – we’ve read your review on Trustpilot, and also examined your records in our system. Thank you for trusting us with your car insurance for two consecutive 6-month terms. Unlike most traditional insurance companies, we choose to clearly disclose all charges in our monthly statements whereas other insurers hide those charges in their monthly invoices. You are correct that we charge an anti-theft fee (required by the State of Texas), along with installment fees, mileage capture fees and policy administration fees. We believe in transparency and full disclosure for our customers.
As you experienced during each of the 12 months you were insured by Mile Auto, we do require monthly odometer photos as that is how we are able to charge our low-mileage customers for the miles they actually drive. If a customer fails to submit an odometer image, they are charged for 40 miles per day for the prior month. Once an image is finally submitted, a credit is issued for any overpayment if the mileage is less. For each of the twelve months you were insured by Mile Auto, you submitted your odometer images and saw how our systems operated and how your monthly statements were created.
With each of our customers, rates are developed using traditional insurance underwriting criteria, and then the insurance costs are divided into a fixed base monthly rate and a per mile charge. Rates vary for each customer depending on their vehicle, driving history, claims history, etc. Low-mileage customers can typically save hundreds per year compared with traditional “all-you-can-eat” insurance.
We regret that you feel like Mile Auto is a “scam.” We can assure you that the thousands of customers who have been insured by Mile Auto for millions of miles would not agree.
