Dismissive unsupportive PCOS care from a medical practitoner that seemed far from informed.
We spent £265 of personal money (not via insurers) to seek an alternative private consultation on my daughters recent PCOS diagnosis. My attempts to illustrate our expectations via email to Dr Parijat De ahead of the appointment were filtered by the receptionist who gave no indication of whether further blood tests could be offered other than those already sought via our GP.
On arrival Dr Parijat De was dismissive, he gave us no option of any further tests (despite being prepared to pay for them), shut our concerns down, told us to refer to a Gyanecologist for greater in-depth knowledge of her root causes, interrupted us on three separate occasions mid-sentence, would not answer specific questions about her condition (his response was "I am not prepared to answer that"), faltered on deeper questioning into root causes or hormone rebalancing, defaulted to our generic GPs response to 'go on the contraceptive pill', would not give us specific advice about different pills and told us to "refer to our GP about that" and showed us the door after 20 minutes of being disregarded. We found Dr Parijat De rude, uninformed, unable to communicate in a medical manner about condition specifics and unable to give any practical solutions or root cause reasons. All in all a large £265 wasted to gain less information that our General Practitioner could give. I would not call this 'specialist' a specialist of any kind in this condition and both myself and my daughter left feeling wholly scammed out of what we had hoped would be a supportive and informative private appointment leaving with no practical onward treatment or testing options for us to decide on the best treatment.

Made me feel so at ease
Thought I’d write a review which isn’t something I do often.
I have seen a wonderful lady at this practice named Vee who has been doing my bloods for a while now and I must say Vee is the best medical person I have dealt with in a very long time.
After a few issues with the practice I was going to look elsewhere but the reason I keep coming back to this practice is because of Vee. She is a wonderful lady who is very down to earth and makes you feel very much at ease, Vee makes the time to explain things to you and also treats you as a person not just another patient.
So thank you Vee for making this hard time a lot easier for me.

Excellent service from Dr Amit Parmar
I booked an appointment with Dr Amit Parmar the ENT Specialist. I was having problems with my left ear and required a Grommet insertion. After the initial consultation and due to me travelling down from North East of Scotland, Dr Parmar advised he could do the Grommet insertion later on in the same day if it was better for me. He explained everything in great detail and I felt very re-assured and confident that I was in safe hands. During the quick surgery Dr Parmar was always asking if I was ok and comfortable and he was explaining the different stages of the surgery as he went along. The surgery went very well and to date I have had no complications. All staff at the Edgbaston Clininc were very helpful, kind and very attentive during my consultation and surgery. Fantastic treatment both times
I have used Midland Health Clinic and specifically with Jonathan Fussey twice now and both times have received fantastic treatment. The second time in particular, I had tried to use my local GP surgery in the first instance and received no joy. After 5-6 weeks of symptoms without feeling any better I went to see Midland Health Clinic. After a friendly chat with Jonathan he prescribed a course of treatment. I've not finished the course yet, but after 3 days feel almost back to normal. The difference is amazing. I would recommend them to anyone and wouldn't go elsewhere. Thank you so much to everyone there, especially Jonathan Fussey.

Kind and Thoughtful
DIA the receptionist dealt with my requests in such a kind and positive manner, I really enjoyed talking to her. Very attentive to my questions. She wrote my requests promptly in order to forward to the reporting doctor; follow up steps explained and made me a booking too.
SONYA who did my ultrasound was very kind too; did the examinations in a timely and efficient manner. Very informative about any findings. Made me feel at ease and was very courteous. The facility was warm and very professional.

A frightening experience
A frightening experience. Went for a blood test which was supposed to be sent off straight away. However the test was done on Saturday but sent off on Monday.
I already had one inaccurate result from another private clinic. I did not want to wait until Midland Health got its act together. So I went to ED and got an accurate result straight away. On Wednesday a Midland Health doctor calls me to give an inaccurate result. If it was accurate then this would have been a life threatening situation so for a doctor to call four days later is pitiful.
At ED within our amazing NHS not only were the busy staff helpful but they analysed the blood test immediately which was necessary in my situation. A doctor then told me that the test I had already obtained from another private clinic was grossly inaccurate.
I have to say please support our NHS where you get competence free of charge whilst I got incompetence and I had to pay for it!

After reviewing your visit, we can confirm that your blood test was processed exactly according to our standard weekend protocol, and there was no delay in sending your sample to the laboratory.
The result provided by our doctor was the official result from our accredited partner laboratory. Differences between results from different clinics can occur for several clinical reasons, including timing and test methodology.
We understand your decision to seek further reassurance, and we’re glad you received support. We would like to reassure other patients that the processes described here are consistent with safe and normal practice.

Amrit the lady receptionist is very snobbish. Not even looking at me or the other client before me. The other lady smile & same as the guy receptionist. This amrit need to do a Customer service training day or you will lose customer because of her. Also not sure if her treatment will be the same to white client!

covid and flu vaccinations
My husband and I had covid and flu vaccinations recently on different days. We were both very pleased with how easily the procedures were booked, how efficiently they were done, how friendly all the staff were and so understanding when we had to reschedule my husband's vaccinations due to ill-health.

Booked privately thinking service and the scan would be better and clear but I was wrong -
The sonographer was not very welcoming - I asked questions but was told she needs to focus on the scan . Asked after was it clear or anything there - she said it was clear .
When the report was emailed, it said they couldn’t see much due to gas in my stomach - so why didn’t she just tell me when she was carrying out the scan . I feel like I’ve wasted £179-
So now I will be attending my appointment with the NHS and they have told me not to eat 6 hours before the scan and funny enough I wasn’t told this at the private scan !!! I won’t use this company again .

Regarding your comment about the scan preparation, our confirmation emails do include information advising patients to avoid eating for six hours prior to the appointment, as this can significantly affect scan clarity. However, we understand that this was not clearly communicated during your visit, and we are sorry for the inconvenience and frustration this caused. We will review our communication processes to ensure this information is more prominent and reinforced at every stage of booking and attendance.

I was booked in for a tongue tie…
I was booked in for a tongue tie release with Mr. Palmar.
Me Palmar made me comfortable and explained everything really well throughout the consultation and procedure. He really took the time to listen. I was having restricted movement during adult recreational activities which would cause very painful lesions on my tongue tie.
since the tongue tie release my movement has increased. I’m now able to move it around freely and use my tongue recreationally to its best ability :)
Having the release has also improved general dental health since less bacteria gets stuck under the tongue.
I Highly recommend Mr Palmar!
