Horrible color ! They didn’t come close to a medium brown. She insisted no red. She came out as a gross redhead. Then they toned it down still red then she went back a second time darkened it still red. We tried to cancel the membership. They are so shady they tell you your membership is canceled and it’s not. I canceled mine after the third time I went online and did it. I asked through chat when it was effective. They said immediately once again ripped off it wasn’t they were trying to get my credit card to run through again. They also post that they have appointments after five till seven you rarely can get in. There is no management at the East Cobb Marietta location I’ve asked three times to speak to manager not there and not available. My sister goes to the Preston center in Dallas Texas. No manager available there had to find on Google a phone number to speak to a live person to cancel memberships. The girls are cosmetologist only really to do color with little else experience. Don’t waste your money !! It’s a scam!? now I’m reading that the color isn’t as safe as they say they are... I may be contacting an attorney. ETANOLAMINE !! Look it up and see if you want it in your hair!!
We picked MR because my sister just finished chemo!!!!! the lawsuit was dropped because they settled out of court not because it was proven unsafe

I want to start by saying that my experience at the salon was pleasant. The staff was friendly and accommodating. My issue is the color itself. I have dark hair and decided to go into the salon hoping that they would be able to give me a great color without harmful bleach. Unfortunately, I left the salon looking the same as when I arrived. The only color was on my scalp and hairline. It was a huge waste of money and not worth it unless you have light hair.

This company does not train their stylists very well. I made an appointment to cover my roots and was told that my roots would come out yellow and would not match my blond highlights. The stylist suggested I get highlights but that I needed a new appointment for that. I came back the following day for my highlights only to be told they couldn’t/wouldn’t do it.. that their products couldn’t match my highlights. I asked about lowlights and was told that was not possible either. I appreciate the honesty, and definitely do not want them to ruin my hair, but was frustrated that I had to go twice. If you are blond, I suggest you try another salon.

Pro: The hair color does not irritate my scalp which is saying a lot since I am a delicate flower.
Cons: The deliveries are s-l-o-w and I'm paying for shipping!
The website says I can pick up products at a Madison Reed store but when I click the link there is no option to make pick ups at the store (which I'd like to do to speed up delivery and avoid shipping charges).
It does the same job of covering grays as drugstore brands.

I am supposed to get my box delivered every 4 weeks. For 2 months it hasn't shown up. I'm ready to do my hair and realize my box isn't here. I re-order for immediate deliver and it says it'll be a month again. The email address doesn't work and the chat box is always unavailable. This company has gone downhill and is not responsive whatsoever to it's customers. There's no way to contact them!! I am livid. Will have to go back to drug store cheap products, I guess.

So, today I had an appointment at the Fremont Madison Reed. Mgr. Stephanie and I could not agree on how to proceed with what I (the client) wanted done to MY HAIR. I explained I was not upset with cost. I was fine with pricing. But here’s what I did not appreciate.
As the client in the chair at a salon, I have minimum expectations. But above all is that the professional doing my hair, listens to what I WANT, then assist me in achieving that beauty goal. It is, THE JOB.
However, I wasn’t greeted upon entering. It was freezing 🥶. Employees were in thick puffy jackets and when they wanted to take my coat I was instantly freezing too. I asked if they were turning up heat. But I ended up leaving so it was a moot point.
Then I’m told the box of Madison Reed gloss I bought from that exact store in December, was against policy to use on my hair today. Madison Reed Policy requires I use a box of whatever they have cracked open in the back. It’s a stupid policy designed to make extra cash. Rather than allow clients to use their products in store; ensure we get to use all the product we buy, they create a policy requiring a different box of their “in store” product must be used. It’s an arbitrary rule to force clients to spend more.
Then as I am trying to explain I had bought all my color and gloss in December and opened a client file but they did not have me on record. Nothing. So clearly the employee that sold me product in December failed to properly create a profile. They had no info. They acted like I didn’t buy it there. Which is silly. I did, and there’s a record of it on my credit card.
But lastly, when I am trying to describe I’d like my roots touched up, with color pulled through to the ends in the last 10 minutes with a gloss treatment. It’s exactly what I had done in December and it turned out great.
But I did not get it done in at the Madison Reed store. Because Madison Reed doesn’t cut hair!! They just slap colors on and blow you out ( for $200) So I took the color to a local salon to get a hair cut, and they happily applied the color and gloss as requested. Funny that a local salon was happy to accept a competitor color, and apply it and cut and style me without complaining, arguing or fighting with me. The paying customer. Crazy right???
Lastly, Madison Reed needs to re-evaluate how they deal with clients. I can’t believe they promote themselves as a fair priced salon experience. It was a self serve bar. I watched another customer drying her own hair. Not a luxury. For the cost, you do not get seven a supercuts type experience. It’s sadder.

Since my usual hairdresser was unavailable, I figured I would try them out. After all, they are experts in color, right? I walked in with washed out blonde hair, and after discussion with the colorist to add a few low lights, I walked out with brown hair and veryl few streaks. I was not happy. They billed me for roots, low lights, and a complete head of color although I don't remember them doing all of my hair and the colorist specifically said that that was not a good thing to do! All this for only $200!! they offered to fix the problem and of course not to refund any money, but I have no desire to go there again. I'll stick with my usual hairdresser who is wonderful and knows how to do color.

I have been using Parma black for a few years. My hair feels wonderful despite the hair loss I experienced after my husband’s death due to stress and grief. The shampoo and conditioner is amazing as well. No burning sensation with the color. I love that included in the box of color is a wipe to remove color, a barrier cream, great gloves and a cap. A lot of complaints are made because the whites are not covered well. Use the find your right color on the app. Also if you’re like me you may need to wait an extra 5 to ten minutes before rinsing, especially the hard to color areas (temples, top back of head). I wish the shampoo and conditioner was less expensive but you get what you pay for.
I want to add that today I needed customer service for the first time. They assisted me and solved my problem immediately! Very nice and customer friendly.

It cost me $30 bucks and didn’t cover my gray, made my hair feel like straw and it washed out with every wash . Their custom service is horrible and they refused a refund even with a receipt!
I do not recommend this product at all.
If you look up the ingredients it’s all bad for your hair! They have several class action lawsuits right now so that should say it all.

This place is a joke.
I went there for root touch up last week and specifically told the guy who assisted me that my roots are a mix of level 6 and 7 equallu distributed. He went back and forth with an IPAD trying to match my color to the ones they make, whic by the way is OFF the chart across the board. I inquired if he was positive about matching what I had and if he even know how to do it.
He assured me that YES to both concerns, did my roots and let me been processed for 45 minutes, which I also complained because thats too long time for processing and most likely the color will be overly processed.
After almost 2 hours I left there with my hair wet and come back home.
my beautiful root tone that held a light golden brown tone that goes great with my golden highlights is now a cooper. auburn old lady kinda of color, dar brown.
They happily refund me for $63,00( normally cost 90,00) but I know that will cost me more than that to fix a red pigment.
Unless you like old school cooper over processed roots dont go to this place at all.

I've been a monthly member of MR for 6 months now and love how easy it is to book appts on the app. I go in every 2 weeks and the women are awesome, so nice and very helpful. They also give great blow outs. I haven't experienced hair thinning or breakage. On the contrary, other dyes used to irritate my scalp and this doesn't at all. Highly recommend! So convenient and affordable. They also give 20% off services and 10% off products if you sign up for the monthly membership.
I’ve used their hair color for a little over 6 months and my hair is falling out in fistfuls, I’m leaving trails of hair everywhere I go. I’m totally disgusted that this product is available and touted as ‘healthy’ Read your reviews ladies, I’m not the only one this has happened too. Do not use if you enjoy having hair.

I HATE how difficult it is to delay or "pause" their automatic subscriptions and how they keep jacking up the price of the same hair color package. Madison Reed makes it impossible to choose your own ship dates beyond their arbitrary repeat limit, wasting so much of my time logging in and verifying with a code and clicking through so much just to put the date a little farther in the future. Madison-Reed limits their automatic reshipment period to a maximum of 8 weeks. A shipment every eight weeks is too expensive at their current higher prices and they could simply extend their arbitrary maximum period to 12 weeks (or even more) if they weren't a predatory business.

Sign up the subscription for the roots $65.00 monthly. I realized I needed all over color and was informed after I paid, I would have to pay an additional $85.00 (minus 20% of actual all over color). I was under the impression it would be an additional cost of 20.00 not $85.00 since I paid the $65.00. It would be a total of $150.00 at the time of the service. I decided to cancel the subscription, it would be cheaper for me to pay $107.00. This process was not explained correctly. I am sure I am not the only one who feels this is poor advertising.

I have been using Madison Reed for a few years. I’m 53 with natural red hair. They don’t have many options for redheads, honestly and it was so dull by the time I needed to recolor.I finally got sick of price increases and $8 shipping so I cancelled my subscription and tried a basic brand Nutriesse. My hair turned out amazing for half the cost and no shipping fees. I wish I could submit a photo!

I went to Salon Bar to get full color but was told I just needed roots done. Told her to look underneath top layers, it was lighter shade than top layers. Then came time to dry my hair, you can pay more for them to dry it or you can go to the DIY station. My hair was so wet I couldn't dry. I needed another towel to get more water out. I gave up, paid and left to go home to finish. Then when I dry my hair I noticed top layers darker than under layers, looked just like it did when I went there. Took a picture, you can tell my hair is two shades. Disappointed, won't be going back.

I sent an email with a photo of the box and color, no replay ….
I called and received no help… as stated, instead they asked me for a receipt (I purchased it 6 + weeks ago from Walmart with my groceries, and do not save the receipts after 2 weeks.)
The rep on the phone just said, we can’t reimburse you without a receipt, and I told her I wasn’t looking for a reimbursement….but wanted their help with advice or to discuss why the color was gone in less then 2 weeks. Again she said, they weren’t reimbursing me…Such a bad company with horrible customer service.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON MADISON REED ($30!) THE PRODUCT DID NOT PERFORM AS ADVERTISED.

Well it was my first time going there the girl was bugging me the whole time to go 70 per month it was annoying it was my day off I wanted to relax and get my hair done she kept on bugging me then when I go to pay they only accept cc needless to say it was the worst experience ever I won’t waste my money there
