JD Gyms - Newport Anmeldelser 

Im writing this review to see if the owners or management actually care about our gym? ive been a member of this gym since they took it over from exercise 4 less, its a great gym, staff are always friendly and helpful, however I think its time to actually replace the equipment. Do i need to start log dates and what machines have been broken/out of order? machines have rust/sweat built up on them, broken leather, Im sure your going to ask for a list of machines/equipment that are out of order?:

Upstairs: seating lat flys, arm has been broken and replaced, out of action for a couple of days, seated law row, cable broken, fixed but again (machines are old) seat chest press (cable was broken) fixed now.

Downstairs: belted hipthrust (broken then fixed), stand preacher curls machine, handle broken and still broken, large cable machines close to deadlift area, sometimes one side is out of action as the cable has snapped!

Its soul destroying to see all these new JD gyms opening up with brand new machines (weighted), we did have new cardio machines, NOW its time for new weighted machines like they have in Cwmbran and Cardiff, why are you leaving out Newport?

its disheartening that your opening brand new gyms instead of taking care of this one.

When you go after a certain time (mainly night) majority of the machines are shut off... I understand some equipment need times to power off and have a break but its annoying when you pay for the membership or need to do a specific workout and can't use the machines because they're either off or people are using the limited ones that are left on. Other than that theres a good variety of weights to be used downstairs and whenever I have gone the areas are clean and tidy.

My son is very happy with the lay out of the gym and finds the QR access code very pleasing and easy to enter.A+++

Good gym facilities.
However, the changing rooms require refurbishment. Lockers are broken and the shower area has mold.

Really have enjoyed my first 2 weeks , clean and well equipped

I recently re-started my membership following a long period of ill health. I love this gym and the range of equipment is excellent. The background music is not as distracting as it used to be ,I'm glad to be back.

Clean gym. Every possible piece of equipment. Friendly atmosphere. Love it.

Only just joined this weekend, first visit today ! As a beginner I feel huge anxiety walking into gyms however I LOVE the fact this gym has a ladies only section! I feel this will help build my confidence massively ! And I might be able to chuck myself into a class eventually! Thank you JD gym for understanding the assignment! Great first visit ! Happy customer!

Lots of equipment to choose from however everything is everywhere - weight plates and dumbbells are carnage and can never find what is needed

I love this gym, with accessible parking and lots of facilities nearby it’s perfect! I also absolutely love Jenny’s Zumba classes, they have changed my workout routine and as a dancer her classes are insanely good, I would pay the full membership just for it! I would absolutely love to see her have another time slot for classes on Tuesday like it used to be!

Good gym, good variety of machines, reasonably big. £30/month is a lot for a gym but it's the closest to me.

State of the art gym well maintained

Just joined JD Sports Gym Newport and really enjoying it so far. The lighting is great! Which sounds weird but sets the tone and mood.
Karli Lou Les Mills BodyCombat classes are brilliant, her energy is next level and makes the whole class feel really fun rather than intimidating.
Proper inclusive vibe too. Feels welcoming no matter your level, which I rate highly. Big fan 👊

I've been a member at Gym Name for short duration and have generally enjoyed my experience. However, I would like to raise a couple of concerns that I've recently encountered.

1. Broken Assault Bike : I noticed the assault bike has been out of order for an extended period. As a fan of high-intensity workouts, the assault bike is a crucial part of my routine, and its absence has significantly affected my training. It would be great if the gym could prioritize repairs or replacement to ensure members can access all the equipment.



2. Broken Tap : Additionally, I've encountered issues with the tap in the gym. It either runs very slowly or is completely out of order, which is inconvenient before and after workouts. A functioning tap is essential for maintaining hygiene and comfort.



I appreciate the efforts of the staff and understand that equipment can sometimes have issues, but I hope these concerns can be addressed soon for the betterment of the gym experience.

The atmosphere in the gym is amazing as well as lighting equipment and over all experience

There’s a good range of gym equipment and I invested in a gym membership so I could workout around 5:30 in the morning after I finished work. I thought this would be a great idea because it would be quieter than the afternoons. When I arrived I was shocked because it was absolutely crawling full of people. I think if the gym is going to be this busy then I’m better off going for a run in the park. It was really awkward to use the weights area.

In a member of Everlast also I use that for the pool sauna and steam room.really good set up and floor space never struggle for room break a good gym. Although people could put the dumbbells back in there correct weights apart from missing pool etc it’s a good over all gym. I joined because of the 24 hour opening times.

Very welcoming clean and worth every penny
