Good experience from walking through the doors to enquire about classes to joining up within 10 mins.

Lovely gym, friendly staff, just a shame so many of the machines are out of order and don't seem to get fixed

Rejoined after a bout of illness and it felt great to be back. It’s going to take me a while to rebuild my strength but I’m in the right place to do it . Staff very helpful gym very well equipped and a good friendly atmosphere to exercise in

So essentially, the gym needs more equipment, attachments for machines, ie handles for cables etc. I spend a great deal of time searching for these.
Also, groups of young lads who stand around chatting, looking at their phones but when you move near a machine that they are standing beside, they remind you quite cheekily that they haven’t finished yet so you can’t use it. I went and did more exercises elsewhere but when I returned they told me again, oh we’re doing one more set. This is unfair.
The gym wasn’t really busy but I could not complete my workout!
Also, no one to help you if you are asking about a piece of equipment, it’s just a case of asking another member for help which isn’t really safe.
A bit of a disappointment to be honest.

Classes are great, but quite a lot of machines are out of order.

I joined this gym recently due to 24hr access. It clearly states that the changing rooms availability time , however a real concern from an inconsistency point of view. Finish my work out at 5:20 am knowing the changing rooms are available from 5am. However more often than enough 5:20 this morning still locked. Cmon JD we pay for a service which you aren’t delivering. May have to look elsewhere for a reliable gym membership.

The barriers were easy to get in with the app, the space was big and lots of machines I didn’t have to wait for anything. Everything was clean and relatively easy to find once you had a walk around. The changing rooms are clean and showers are lovely.

The gym itself is good, but I think you need more sterilisation bottles around, so people can wipe down the equipment after they used them. NOT ONE person that I seen wiped down after themselves.

Why did I leave it 56 years to join a gym!?!? I’m just beginning so I feel a little nervous and certainly not able to lift much.I love the gym in Northumberland Park tho. The staff are very helpful and the machines are awesome!!

Well organised and structured. Makes me comfortable to focus on my personal goal.

There was no formal induction, I had to ask one of the staff who then asked me to wait 15 minutes as a PT was due to start and they would send him over to me. This did not happen, I had to approach him? Otherwise the facilities seem really clean and modern.

Done an online form to switch to a different location said it would be done in 5 days, it didn't so rang up local gym they just said to it again, waste of time

Love the JD Gyms in Shiremoor. Great layout, and staff are super friendly.

The gym is good and there is a wide range of equipment. The cross trainers are not a very good model and feel small. Cardio equipment is spaced a bit close together which is not great but other than that its quite clean and a nice environment.
