It's ok overall. Better than my local Gym group gym. If you go in early it's fairly quiet, especially on weekends. Some of the cable machines need a bit of tlc but other than that it's a nice space. G... Vis mer

Gym was fine. I used to train at the Huddersfield JD all of the time. What I will say is that a few of the machines have fallen into disarray, and there was a lot more random litter in the dumbbell... Vis mer

The JDs club 😊
Nice location, Parking spaces which you have to register your vehicle registration in the front desk…spacious workout floor HOWEVER the equipments are probably due for the BIG UPGRADE ↗️↗️⬆️⬆️ Sauna men’s sauna can do with a regular cleaning and essential oils to help avoid unpleasant odours 😊

intense workout
I always think of going to the gym as a task never know what will help me tone my body, JD gym is brilliant. they run classes alday everyday and it’s within your membership cost. I now go and do as many of the classes and always leave knowing the workout was intense. I couldn’t do that workout alone

Gym equipment is failing
Gym equipment is failing, pins missing, not enough machines to cater for the overpopulated gym.
If there was another gym close to me I would change.

Our staff do undertake regular maintenance checks and work hard with our equipment providers to ensure that our equipment is fixed as soon as possible
We are equally as disappointed when this happens and sometimes need to wait on engineers but will have all equipment in full working order as soon as is safely possible. If you have any concerns about equipment, please notify staff on site as soon as you can.

Attended a first class on Sunday…
Attended a first class on Sunday morning. LBT was due to start at 11.00am. At 11.10am no instructor and had to go and find someone to ask. Instructor arrived after 20 minutes. Left the class to go on the treadmill instead. None available and several out of order. Ladies toilets out of order as well. I appreciate the monthly membership fee is more than competitive, but does this mean you have to put up with less than adequate facilities.

i enjoyed the work out and…
i enjoyed the work out and surroundings. But a male employee came twice into the shower changing room toilets. women were topless and some naked !! no way should any man be able to come into this private undress area PERIOD no signage to warn us. Its time to respect womens privacy and modesty also children aged 16-18 !!! men should not be allowed near semi naked children . its really bad dont feel safe or comfortable

Thank you for your feedback, we of course understand that this may have made you feel uncomfortable and this is definitely not our intention.
Where possible a female cleaner will check the female changing rooms and vice versa, but there will be occasions where our female cleaner is not on shift, so a male cleaner will cover for them.
This does also happen the other way around from time to time. They will announce themselves before entering or get another member of staff to enter ahead of them to make members aware.
Keeping our changing rooms clean is a top priority and they need to be checked regularly in order to keep on top of tasks. But if they haven't given you forewarning then that isn't acceptable.
Please politely ask them to come back in 5 minutes and report that they did not warn you to the staff member on duty. If you feel more comfortable, you can email the General Manager on huddersfield@jdgyms.co.uk

Entrance not obvious
Struggled to find entrance especially on a dark,wet & windy evening- as a female and first time visiting felt unsafe, no signage pointing/arrows indicating the entrance is down the side of the building (the entrance as you drive past into car park isn’t obvious either - just a standard JD Gym logo next to casinos sign I basically had to look for someone who looked like they were dressed for the gym and follow them. Maybe I have bad eye sight but had to ask a staff member where the changing rooms were. I do love that the stair master machines don’t have other equipment directly behind.

Awesome gym I’ve been to a few and this…
Awesome gym I’ve been t a few and this one is easy to access , good parking.
I like that it’s not really bright, so when you go really early hours you can train without having to wear shades for bright lights until your eyes adjust 😂
Lots of equipment and well spaced out !
Great spin studio separate from main floor and sauna and lots of classes
Again great gym and good mix of people that go ! I do recommend !!!!

The gym is badly managed
The gym is badly managed. Showers and changing rooms smell.
A class this morning was held on the prowler track instead of inside the empty studio.
2 members took up most of the callisthenics area doing boxing instead of using the boxing area, which I pointed out to them, which was followed by abuse. This was quite dangerous as one member was punching the pads really hard and dancing around, no member of staff on the floor to notify.
No visibly broken equipment/machine today, but this is a rarity.
This is not what I have come to expect from JD.
