JD Gyms - Glasgow North Anmeldelser 

This is probably one of the best gyms I’ve used and I’ve joined many gyms over the years. Big free weights area with plenty benches even during busy periods. Gym offers free passes and sometimes free PT sessions. I’ve never had a gym I’ve wanted to keep going back to before and have been four times already and still enjoying.

Great size, really well laid out and overall very clean. Good value for money. The only things I think could be improved is maintenance of the machines and longer opening hours…..

I did have this as a 4 but given the response I think a three is more fitting. It wasn’t a dig it was an honest observation based on the looseness of some of the cables on the machines and a leg press machine that’s been broke for (other members) about 3 weeks…. Guys take the feedback for what it was…

The gym has a variety of work-out options and staff are always friendly. The toilets, changing room and the gym itself is very clean. There is blue roll and desinfectant in different places inside the gym. Staff members are constantly cleaning the equipment. They are always open, easy to approach and helpful.
There is a good value for money, since the monthly fee includes not only access to all the equipment, but access to group sessions with trainers (for example, zoomba) and sauna. From time to time the gym offers discounts, or allows you to bring a friend for free.
What I enjoy as well is the access to BBC programs while working out. There are screens coming down from the ceiling where you can watch different programs when you exercise. I really liked the BBC documentary about meerkats that was shown during the winter holidays.

Gym spotless staff are beyond on top. There a credit to the gym. Here's to a good year

I was pleased with how much space and equipment there was. Also the staff were friendly and helpful.

It’s alright, there’s a lot of people that seem to be wanting to gain muscles rather than lose weight (skinny people) and it’s quite hard on me cause I’m plus size! Rarely any bigger people come to this gym (north) so I kind of feel like I have to push myself to go because I feel so insecure.
Pts are great, however they charge an unreasonable amount!!
Good amount of equipment, but come in the morning if you actually want to use any of the weight machines lol

Just noticed they have been charging me 19.99 a month instead of the agreed 15.99!
Apparently they changed their prices but this was never ran past me - their customer service is non existent as I have sent 4 emails now asking for my money back and to cancel my membership as their gyms were ok as a budget option but can get far better gym for the price they are now charging me!

They do not reply to emails and it’s nye on impossible to get through on the phone!

I work away most of the year so 19.99 for an average gym that doesn’t even have a pool that I get to use 5/6 months of the year is too steep when every other gym in Glasgow offers vantage discounts.

Would have been happy remaining a member if they gave me my money back for months up until now seeing as this was a sneaky move not notifying me and just changing the direct debit themselves but after seeing how they treat their members (no replies to emails and if you manage to get them on the phone they just tell you to email your complaint, regardless of how many times you tell them that does nothing) I will be cancelling my membership as soon as I get home.

Avoid this gym unless you are happy to have your membership changed with no notice!

Edit: I should add that they said on the phone I would have been emailed to notify me this change but, as someone who doesn’t delete emails, a quick search of “JD gyms” in my email inbox can confirm every email I have ever received - all the way back to the welcome one which states my membership was 15.99/m!

I've been an avid gym user now for nearly 20 years. I've been to countless gyms all over the U.K and this one tops the lot. Here's why...
- has all the stations you could ever need, plenty of various cardio machines, loads of free weights, resistance machines, plate loaded machines, everything. Even at it's busiest, there's still plenty to go around.
- it's very spacious, bright and airy with at least three extra rooms for glasses and what you want to use them for. Even before covid, it's always spotless.
- Amazing value for money.
- It's got a really good sense of community and always seems to have a positive vibe, whatever kind of excersise you're into.
A seriously good gym, whether you're a bodybuiler, power lifter, fitness finatic, or someone just starting out. I bloody love it!

Great gym, lots of space and equipment. Any damaged equipment is usually fixed very quickly. The changing facilities are always clean. The only thing that would make this gym better is if it was open 24/7 or opened earlier in the morning

The Gym is a good gym lots of equipment, friendly environment My PT is Dionne she is great with helping me gain muscle growth and help strip fat with the programe given

Me and my mum love this gym!! The management team and staff are all so lovley and always bring positive energy as soon as you walk through the doors, the music is always really good and there is also a free car park outside which is great!! Would highly recommend💗

Amazing gym with a great range of equipment. Love classes and the staff are very welcoming and friendly. Love that the saunas are back on to. Would highly recommend to everyone.

Friendly staff and very welcoming.Excellent range of equipment to chose from. Only negative is a certain member of staff who consistently on three occasions was observed using equipment and not cleaning it with the cleaning sprays sporadically available throughout the gym, as was expected by other gym users after use of equipment. Staff members particularly need to set a good example.

Amazing staff, always helpful. Great atmosphere and very clean.

Excellent facilities, helpful staff, great venue...and good selection of classes. Spin instructors are professional and I would highly recommend a class any day of the week.
