JD is a good gym with great PTs. It's like most gyms, gets busy in peak periods and occasional machines need fixing but never not been able to complete a workout. Saunas are small but not heavily used... Vis mer

The toilets were not cleaned
The toilets were not cleaned. Urination was everywhere at Bolton JD it's very unhygienic no cleaner onsite maybe that's why. No the toilet rolls.

Shocking
I’ve been a member of this gym for years now. The last year has gone down hill it is so dirty it’s shocking. The toilets get signed off all hours of the day and they are minging I mean to the point where no one wants to use them they never have any loo roll or the taps are not working. The floor under the sink is a death trap! The hole in the shower is also a death trap.
The mats there’re is no point having them they are just full of holes. The equipment is so outdated it’s like the paupers gym. The area manager she is so unfriendly, Sam is ace you ask him something and he just try’s to do it, Ste is the new GM but dosnt seem to have a say in much he’s trying his best to turn the gym around but doesn’t have much support.
Classes I attend a lot of the classes Vicky’s especially what can I say such a good instructor gets the whole class going helps everyone and does a whole 45 min class and she has had classes taken off her which is a joke !
Combat classes I love doing by the times in the morning have changed and I don’t think one has ever been 45 mins usually between 37-39 mins we tell the staff and it’s just yes we will have a word but this has been going on for years and they get given more classes.
Jordan has been given more classes and Antony. There is a pattern here they are PT’s obviously it’s to do with the money you don’t want to keep the loyal members! Nothing against them instructors but they don’t give it there all like the more experienced ones.
This gym could be really good if it had the right staff, was clean you gave good instructors there classes back, and not getting short changed by the other.
A lot have been attending Bury which is so much better.
And you have upped the monthly payments up without letting the members know!

Great Staff!
After a long break and searching for the right gym, I joined JD Gym Bolton and started training with Seth. I’ve met many instructors over the years, but Seth is truly one-of-a-kind. He’s goal-oriented, always encouraging, and genuinely invested in my progress. Even when I’m not feeling motivated, he’s there to lift me up, set daily goals, and hold me accountable. Seth makes it feel like my success is his personal mission, always checking in and never letting me slack. I couldn’t ask for a better trainer – he’s simply the best!
Also Sam is a fantastic manager at JD Gym Bolton! He’s always friendly, approachable, and willing to help with anything you need. His positive attitude creates a great environment for everyone. I always leave feeling motivated and supported. Highly recommend this gym under Sam’s leadership!

We are a 24-hour gym in Bolton, but due to there being less staff on duty throughout the night, areas which are not covered by CCTV or monitored regularly are closed for the safety of our members, this includes our studios in all of our 24/7 gyms.

There are too many thieves in there who…
There are too many thieves in there who stolen my hat and shoes.
If you leave or forget something in the gym the staff will throw it away although they have to put it in the lost property everything they found, they can't walk back to the that area so the pin is closer.
This is bolton gym.

I have been a member of JD Bolton…
I have been a member of JD Bolton approaching 4 years, and although staff members have come and gone, Sam has remained loyal to the cause. As well as being approachable he is popular with members and is a definite asset to the club.
My rating would have been Five stars, but currently there are too many members for the size of the club. Larger promises or a Gold, Silver membership could be viable options.

"Misleading Offer and Poor Customer Service"
I signed up for a membership at JD Gyms Bolton after seeing their "FLASH SALE! 1ST MONTH £10" offer. The promotion clearly stated that the first month would be £10 with no joining fee, followed by a monthly payment of £24.99. However, when I signed up in person, the £10 offer wasn't available on the kiosk, and I was charged the full £24.99.
I raised the issue with a staff member, and she assured me that I would be refunded the difference. Despite following her instructions and paying the full amount, I never received the promised refund. When I followed up with the gym manager the next day, I was told that no refund would be issued, which directly contradicts what I was told initially.
This experience has left me very disappointed. The advertised offer was misleading, and I was given conflicting information by staff. I expected better transparency and customer service from a well-known gym brand. Be cautious if you're considering signing up during a promotion – it may not be honored as advertised.

1* Not impressed
Some of the equipment is good but there is a lot of of equipment under repair.
The weights are here there and everywhere, no one puts the weights back after using equipment, dumbbells are all over the place and don't match.
People don't clean the equipment after use, no standards kept at all... I have been a member for under a week and I'm already going to be cancelling after my first month.
Needs much improvement!!!

Hi Sam. Thanks for leaving us some feedback. We are disappointed that you are not happy with the standards that you have seen at our Bolton gym. However we do appreciate your honesty so we can continue to improve.
Our staff do undertake regular maintenance checks and work hard with our equipment providers to ensure that our equipment is fixed as soon as possible, if any should be broken. We are equally as disappointed when this happens and sometimes need to wait on engineers but will have all equipment in full working order as soon as is safely possible.
We try our best to encourage our members to return the weights after use. Our fabulous staff are always on hand to help with returning the weights so if you are ever struggling to find a matching set, please don't hesitate to ask
