My experience with iTeach was mostly good!
My experience with iTeach was mostly good. Instructors were quick to reply and my supervisor was extremely helpful.
I was a little disappointed that 240 Tutoring was discontinued. If you are becoming certified in Texas in gen ed EC-6th, the STR is a requirement. 240 Tutoring offered the most helpful guidance particularly for the written portion of the test.
Other than that, my only complaints were in regards to changes that had to be made since I was in the middle of TEA standard certificate requirement changes. I had passed the 290 Exam, but was told it had expired without any written warning since I had not been allowed to test for the STR due to the extremely lengthy written assignments iTeach required prior to being allowed to take the STR. The STR course was LONG. I do think it helps those whose degrees are not in education. However, as someone whose baccalaureate degree was in education, the course was long-drawn. I wish there had been an option to take a pre-exam to get a better idea of what the actual STR exam was going to look like. The coursework in that particular course was not as helpful as I thought upon taking the exam.
That being said, I had to the newer exam (390), but this had all pushed back plans and it was very frustrating. However, I completed the program and after taking the STR, it was smooth sailing. The courses are flexible, but also time consuming. Although, I feel as though since TEA requirements are higher, iTeach had to match that for a success rate.
I am grateful for the program, truly. I love teaching, regardless of the circumstances and high turnover rate. I do wish that the length of expected completion time was more accurate though. Online it is advertised that standard certificate completion can be done in months, but the intern year is already one entire school year. Not including the courses plus examinations. Please understand that this will probably take at minimum a year if you meet deadlines you must set yourself. It took me much longer than a year, but I also had personal emergencies.

The course was well written and timely. The customer service is great, they were able to fix my login issue in less than 24 hours. I like that they are self-paced and can be completed over a weekend.

Stay away
I would never recommend this company for any reason at all. Everything has been a nightmare. The content hasn't updated in 10+ years and you can get the same certificate in weeks compared to months with another company. They only care about money.
