Il Marchesato is a family Company founded in 1978 in Saluzzo, a tiny town in the North West of Italy, not far from Turin.
The name is after the old name of the area, and it means “The land of the Marquis”, a common way in the ancient times to define places according to the nobles in charge. From the beginning Il Marchesato makes hand made luxury umbreallas, walking sticks and shoehorns with a vast array of high quality materials.
Every single piece is mounted by hand, precious textiles cut by hand, sticks and handles are worked by the family members and porcelain handles painted by local artists working with the Company since longtime. Even the top notches and runners of the umbrellas are mounted and tested internally one by one.

We are sorry that the umbrella did not meet your expectations. However, we feel it is important to clarify that the description contained in your comment does not reflect the actual characteristics of the product you purchased.
The umbrella was handcrafted, assembled and hand-finished in Italy, using carefully selected materials and workmanship carried out to the highest quality standards. It is therefore neither a children’s toy nor a product made in China.
Every customer is, of course, entitled to express a personal opinion about a purchase. The origin, materials and craftsmanship of a product, however, are objective and verifiable facts, and we believe they should be represented accurately.

Just received my custom build walking…
Just received my custom build walking stick and I must say I am so pleased .,the leather handle is so comfortable and the grip perfect.
The whole design is beautiful yet practical and The craftsmanship is of course excellent and the length and balance is exceptional
I feel safe and confident with this walking stick.

Tariffs & Umbrella review
It was not communicated that the buyer had to pay the Tariffs. This was an additional $88 USD on top of the $425 USD price for the umbrella. I found this out when I received an email from DHS saying they would not deliver until paid. I do want to say the umbrella is stunning, the quality is exceptional and I love the umbrella

We are sorry that the import duties came as an unexpected cost. However, we would like to clarify for future customers that all shipments outside the European Union may be subject to import duties and taxes imposed by the destination country. This information is clearly stated in several places on our website, including our Delivery Rates page, during checkout, and in the shopping cart before completing the purchase.
Unfortunately, these charges are determined by the customs authorities of the destination country and vary from one country to another, so they cannot be calculated or collected by us in advance.

Just average for the price and tariffs included.
Shipping was fine and delivery was prompt. Item was exactly as it appears in the advertisement. This was a big plus. However, the material of the can seems like cheap plastic or resin scratches easily and is more like a plastic thing you could buy at Walmart. The handle itself is ordinately decorated and detailed painted, etc. The actual handling and walking with the cane, however, due to the sharp edges make it only used for cosplay. As such the price paid, including the tariff shipping and taxes is definitely not worth the purchase. I feel that the Italian name lens to its exclusivity, but not necessarily to its workmanship overall and quality. I haven’t checked, but it feels like it’s something that was made in China shipped to Italy to be finished and then shipped off as some authentic type of elegant cane . But the advertising was truthful, and the cane is somewhat functional. I’ll be it for special occasions or cosplay as mentioned, which is not the intention of the cane when purchased but understandable. I would not purchase again at this price level and would admonish anyone from doing so unfortunately.

We would like to clarify one important point: our canes are not manufactured in China. Every Il Marchesato cane is handcrafted in our workshops in Italy. The handle of your cane is individually finished with 24K gold plating, hand-enamelled, and hand-painted by our artisans. These are traditional decorative techniques that require a great deal of manual craftsmanship.
Regarding its intended use, this model is designed as an elegant walking cane for light everyday use and special occasions. It is not intended to be an orthopedic or medical support cane, and we always recommend using orthopedic walking aids when full weight support is required.
We genuinely appreciate your comments, as they help us better understand our customers' expectations. We are sorry that your experience did not reflect the level of quality we strive to provide, and we hope this clarification is helpful for future readers.

I’m very unhappy with the Trump tariff on my order. Ridiculous and must be paid in transit by the buyer or US Customs would not release the items for delivery.

We would like to clarify that your return request was not declined because of the quality of the product, but because the item was customized with engraving/embroidery and therefore made specifically to your personal specifications.
As clearly stated on our website before purchase and in our Return Policy, personalized products are not eligible for return or refund unless they are faulty or damaged upon delivery. This policy is standard for custom-made products and is applied equally to all customers.
We also respectfully disagree with the statement regarding the quality. Every Il Marchesato umbrella is handcrafted in Italy by skilled artisans using carefully selected materials, and we stand behind the quality of our products.
We remain available to assist any customer with genuine manufacturing issues, but in this case the return could not be accepted because the product had been personalized, in accordance with the policy accepted at the time of purchase.

Stunning quality and craftmanship
Recently discovered this site and never knew about umbrellas that were this nice. I was overwhelmed by the selection, I was getting it as a special gift for a girl. I decided on one of them and ordered it. It arrived from Italy in a few days and I opened it. This umbrella absolutely blew me away in the beauty of it. I had the girls initials embroidered too for that custom touch and I'd 100% recommend you doing that. This umbrella already looked good on the website and seeing it in person blew my expectations out of the water. The crystals on the handle are UNBELIEVABLE. It literally looks like something some royal princess would have. Its a great feeling when you get a gift that you KNOW is going to blow the person away when they get it. Its not the typical type of gift I would even think to get someone, but after getting this one I'm going to be getting more and will use them for future special gifts. It is seriously a work of art, and the 2 people I showed already were wow'd as much as me. Keep in mind you will have to pay custom fees for it, I know some others mentioned you would and I did, which was $75. While customs fees are annoying, I don't even care what the cost total is thats just how nice this thing actually is. The only critique I have was part of the tape got on the box itself and ripped part of the box. The external box should be a little better to not damage the black one it comes in, but thats the only feedback I have. If you want to get a gift to give a female that will overwhelm them when they see it, this is the item to get.
