Il Marchesato is a family Company founded in 1978 in Saluzzo, a tiny town in the North West of Italy, not far from Turin.
The name is after the old name of the area, and it means “The land of the Marquis”, a common way in the ancient times to define places according to the nobles in charge. From the beginning Il Marchesato makes hand made luxury umbreallas, walking sticks and shoehorns with a vast array of high quality materials.
Every single piece is mounted by hand, precious textiles cut by hand, sticks and handles are worked by the family members and porcelain handles painted by local artists working with the Company since longtime. Even the top notches and runners of the umbrellas are mounted and tested internally one by one.

The umbrella was beautiful, but!!
The umbrella was beautiful, however they show it with a different clip sleeve. They sent it with a simple gold band displaying their name instead of the pear shaped Swarovski crystal sleeve shown. Have already sent 2 emails to no reply. Good quality and detail but customer service isn't there.. i gave up

After being charged $40 for shipping
After being charged $40 for shipping, DHL sent me an email demanding $58 for additional fees owed before they would deliver my cane. I would not have purchased this cane if I knew ahead of time about the cost.

The $40 paid at checkout covered the international shipment of your order from Italy to the United States. The additional amount requested by DHL was not a further shipping charge applied by Il Marchesato, but import duties and customs fees assessed by the U.S. authorities and collected by the courier on their behalf. These charges are neither determined nor retained by our company.
As stated in the shipping information on our website, orders delivered outside the European Union may be subject to import duties, taxes, or local customs charges upon arrival, in accordance with the regulations of the destination country.
We understand that such costs may be unwelcome; however, they are entirely separate from both the price of the item and the shipping service purchased from us.
