Seeking to purchase a Prusa Mini+…
Seeking to purchase a Prusa Mini+ printer a few months ago directly from Prusa in Prague which would be excluding VAT as they would unable to refund UK customs and excise directly - this VAT would be levied by the courier and in some cases , apparently, overcharging of VAT has occurred.
I then discovered HPI Technology - not an official distributor as they themselves assert , but being based in UK would add VAT appropriately at time of sale.
As machines which are ex-stock can be seen immediately on their web-site I went ahead and ordered the requisite Prusa machine with Express Royal Mail 1-2 day. I then wondered if the machine came with a filament runout sensor -on the web page the photo has partially clipped the right hand edge of the sensor so I emailed Callum the MD, and asked if this was so.
I was totally surprised by his reply, apologising for the fact that the web listing wasn't clear and enclosing the sensor in the box at no extra cost, I noticed later that the web page has been amended.
This is superb service in my opinion !

Thanks for your review. I do remember dealing with you personally. Not a problem to include the sensor for free. It isn't part of a standard Mini purchase, but as it wasn't clear whether or not it was included on our web shop, it was the right thing to do.
Absolutely correct on the VAT - this is one of the many advantages we're pleased to offer when it comes to Prusa. Couriers also charge, in addition to the VAT, for collecting the VAT. Sometimes not much more than the VAT itself! We will be approaching Prusa in 2024, hopefully allowing us to bring down prices for our customers at the same time :)

Royal mail was several days off when…
Royal mail was several days off when paid for express delivery. HPI immediately refunded the delivery fee and asked to be kept up to date. Responses were prompt and product eventually arrive being exact what I need.
