Lovely building on lovely street. Well furnished and equipped. Quiet neighbourhood, great location near cathedral and Hope Street. More homely than a hotel. Could have done with a dishwasher but not a big problem

Spacious property, excellent in general

We had a great short stay in Amble and the organisation by Host and Stay was very good. A couple of negatives- the online check in form does not let you complete unless you opt in for accidental damage which we felt we did not need - a phone call to customer services sorted this out. The accommodation was in tiptop condition, extremely clean and tidy and in a very quiet neighbourhood- the only negative being there were 5 in our party and the dining room table only had 4 chairs and 4 table mats - we had to bring in a garden chair to accommodate us all.

Really lovely flat, nicely decorated and had everything we needed.

Place was excellent, clean and tidy and had everything you could need. Except an iron..but in all honesty thats really not important. Great location and will definitely return

We had a lovely stay here. The house was clean and modern and felt like a home from home. Good location with parking too.

Lovely views, quite and peaceful great for a relaxing getaway. Beautiful cabin soft and comfortable beds with great kitchen and bathrooms

All staff very welcoming the cabin was great we will definitely be returning.

The good:
Centrally located
Contemporary apartment and well furnished
Clean on the whole

The bad:
It was far too hot in there without a fan or aircon and the windows only opened a little bit.
The property was a bit short of dinner knives (which didn’t bother us as we didn’t cook, but it might bother the next guests). Also only a couple of Prosecco flutes
The external 3rd floor window was very unsightly - covered in bird poo, perhaps blinds would be a good idea…. Appreciate that window isn’t easy to keep clean!
While the property was clean on the whole, the top floor floors and floor lamp shade in the main bedroom was incredibly dusty
Finally, the dishwasher we were unable to use at all during our stay as it was showing an E01 error code.

The ugly:
While the location was central it wasn’t the nicest - homeless people sleeping rough in the doorway opposite. The apartment is above a shop ‘The Works’ rather than in its own building. I’ll keep saying the location is central… but we’d have preferred to be the other side of the bridge which is a bit smarter and more quaint. My 16yo son described the immediate area as a dump… we enjoyed our time in Whitby on the whole, but left after 2 nights, rather than stopping a 3rd as the apartment was BOILING 🥵!!!!

For gods sake, provide some fans!! The windows barely open, and they ones that do you can’t open overnight cos of the screeching seagulls!!

I’ve given 4/5 as on the whole, the apartment was nice. Well equipped, comfortable and contemporary. However, the lack of fans, bird poo on the windows and sketchy wifi lost it 1 point.

A lovely little cottage with everything we needed. Very comfortable and cosy. We arrived in the rain and had got very wet so the electric fire was very much appreciated to get us warmed up. The bed was very comfy and everywhere was clean. It was good having an outside area to sit in during the lovely summer evening. The only thing we wished we had was a fan as it got very hot when trying to sleep. If we stayed again we'd bring our own. The shower was powerful and hot. We needed to contact the hosts a couple of times and they responded very quickly. Thanks so much to the owners and cleaning team. We're already looking forward to going back.

The apartment was everything we needed. ideal for amenities,good location and close to te train station the only thing missing was an ironing board, I have already booked it for next year.

Extremely unprofessional- cancelled our 6 night stay with less than 24 hours notice.

The service provided by Host and Stay was great. As a service we couldn’t fault the communications, questions were followed up quickly and comprehensively.

We stayed for 4 nights at the Ship Shape Seahouses ,it was a beautiful apartment in a fantastic location in the middle of Seahouses.The apartment is beautifully furnished with everything you need provided for .The bed was so comfy , it was a great base to travel to all the tourist spots we wanted to see would stay again

Modern, well equipped and clean apartment conveniently located. Clear instruction and directions.

The lodge was perfect. It had everything you could possibly need inside. The site was lovely and quiet. Shame we didn't see all the wildlife. Great location. Just a 10/15 min drive over to Whitby.

The property was exactly as described and perfect for our needs. It’s in a quiet street within walking distance of most parts of Scarborough. We were going to the Open Air Theatre and it was only 10 mins away. There is disc parking on the streets in Scarborough so we decided to travel by train. Host and Stay were very helpful, replied very quickly to our queries and gave good information. I would use them again.

Clean roomy apartment. All modern conveniences and 5 minute walk to the town. Tasteful decor too. Two double bedrooms

Apartment was absolutely wonderful , location was superb just 10 minute walk into whitby and dedicated parking, we will definitely stay here again
