Spent £20 on a Christmas white rose as a present. Less than a week later, despite being kept in ideal conditions, it is virtually dead!
So much for a Christmas present eh?
Be warned.

What a great improvement since last year in the cafe! Food good and quick service. Plants well looked after with offers and now Edinburgh Mill is back in the Garden Centre.
Hampton in Arden near Balsall Common

Used to love visiting here but will not return again. Overpriced food which is dreadful quality. Non existence service. The resteraunt was almost empty which for a Saturday lunch time says it all! It used to be packed :(

I and 5 other retired gentlemen visit various places for a breakfast once each month. We had the unfortunate experience of visiting Hilliers garden centre near Horsham. We all ordered our usual small breakfast which is similarly priced to other places we’ve visited but what arrived was nothing short of disgraceful. The bacon and sausages were the cheap supermarket type. Both very small and the bacon shrivelled up. To cap it all we were charged and extra £3 for 2 slices of cheap poor quality white or brown sliced bread disguised as toast. The whole thing was nothing short of a rip off. Later I wrote a letter of complaint to Hilliers and had a reply to say my comments had been passed to the restaurant manager. However I followed this up over a week ago with no further response. I assume that nothing has changed and it’s still a very poor breakfast. I recommend this place is best kept away from and try Whispers in Billinghust instead.

Hilliers Andover. Lovely large cafe area sadly ruined by absolutely revolting food.
The avocado and eggs were inedible, the avocado cubes were old and slimy with a grey hue, clearly not fresh. The eggs were fine, but hard boiled. Tried, but couldn’t eat it as it was so foul tasting.
Then purchased a chocolate cake and was further disappointed as it was stale and hard.
REALLY! In what are tough times for many this really is taking advantage of people, feel thoroughly ripped off and will not spend money here again.

Please do better Hilliers, some of your customers will be choosing to eat here as a treat, this will not deliver that!

Promotions in cafe need managing better. They need more staff in. Less tables reserved. The chefs are fantastic considering the customers queue out the door. The timing of queueing when disabled is tough over 50 mins. Far too many people seating before service/paying, unfair as reserved tables unhelpful unless pre booked with a number. The fire exit doors blocked due to customers moving tables gathering together. Queueing down middle of restaurant not good when customers sitting close at tables. We managed to queue for 45 mins, then wait an hour for food.
Suggest you having queuing side of wall not in middle restaurant. People should book table number and then reserve table, clear fire exit from tables. Maybe consider taking table orders to speed up service. Request customers clear their table onto plate rack to help clear tables. Too many 4 str tables were blocked with only 1 or 2 people. Maybe single table for 1/2 down far side wall. More 2 seater needed, 4/6 seaters for families.
Staff work v hard, but promotions are noticeable when there doesn't appear to be management control. Also, as we are local and regular, we didn't get handed vouchers, speaking to those having offers, confirmed they received 6/7 vouchers each, which is unfair. This is my worst review ever because we felt this was our worst ever experience at hilliers. Hopefully give 5 stars next visit in few weeks.

Short staffed

Hilliers cafe always short staffed herded into one area bad for service, over priced and no customer care

Overpriced and poor service in the restaurant. £9 for a pretty poor cheese sandwich. Wrong order, overcharged by £9 too. Awful, sloppy and unfriendly service. Garden centre itself run down, poor stock, expensive. Shame. Used to be a nice place when it was Rosebourne. Will not be rushing back any time soon.

Bought a £2000 garden furniture set. It lasted a week until the sun had bleached all the beautiful wood effect off the table and chairs. I've been told that the product shouldn't be allowed to get wet and should be in the sun? WHAT IS THE POINT IN HAVING A FURNITURE SET THEN?! , advised the seller that it's obviously not fit for purpose. Misleading false statements such as 3 years warranty! UV proof, anti rust framing. The tables rusted. The UV proof is non existent. And now I'm being ignored.

Since Hilliers bought Rosebourne it is slowly going downhill. Some items are cheaper but we used to love the cafe. Used to be table service, you could order online or go to a till. Now it's like a canteen and no one seems to know what is what. They keep changing the entrance and exits. Customers seem lost. Breakfast was a joke! Expensive and not value for money at all. The bare minimum.
Staff stood around looking like they had no clue to what was going on. Lost our business for good.

Garden centre great. Then.....in the cafe. Only one till station open so half hour queue to order. Then find a table and wife has to sqeezy bottle and clean the table.Half hour wait for food. Cup cakes stale,Dorset apple dry. Mocha cold,and no management around.Our second visit and we should have realized after our first poor visit that there were issues, and thought it might be a one off,but not so. It seems no one gives a rats rear about this place and that is a pity,it could be a gold mine and not a coal mine.

£9.99 for a artisian egg mayo baguette! Menu changed 2 weeks ago apparently- food was awful ! It used to be our fav ! NOT ANYMORE 13/4/24

I went to hillers eastbourne get plants as I was walking round the garden part a male worker lost control of the hose and got me full pelt in the face with water soaking my hair and clothes also my dog, not only that but it ricachade of me onto my dad. Then the worker turn his back on me no apologies or nothing, I then spoke to the manager about this but really wasn't satisfied with her either. I think the staff need training in customer relations and apologies for there mistakes. Also might be helpful if headoffice had a email address 🤔

Ordered garden furniture on Friday and delivered today. Driver super helpful in placing items on our patio and removing the packaging which he took away too.

Brilliant experience all round with clear communication from ordering to delivery.

Visited the new cafe (since the Rosebourne company came onboard). Couldn't work out how to browse the plants first as I appreciate the old building is obviously being 're-jigged' but felt the new building just overly pricey and although spacious, not got the feel of some garden centres and it now wouldn't be somewhere I'd rush to return.
Loos nice! Hot chocolate wasn't hot and at £6.60 for two mugs, again, won't be returning for that. Such a shame.

We visited Hilliers Verwood today. Really enjoyed walking around the garden centre itself. The butchers well worth a visit as was Lakeland. However decided to visit the cafe. What a let down. The tables were dirty as was the floors, as for the service at the counter I would definitely give it a miss there are better experiences locally at other cafes. I would have expected when you ask for a pot of tea for 2 to at least get 2 tea bags not a load of water with 1 tea bag floating on the top. If I had ordered 2 pots of tea separately I would get 2 teabags. I think they only give 1 and charge for 2 as most of the customers are older and would perhaps not bother to complain or even notice. The whole experience was one of lack of cleanliness combined with staff who appear to be either not bothered or can’t be asked. I definitely could not give this place a rating as it was so awful but I had to give it 1 star because there is no minus options. I suggest that Hillier’s management look at this cafe as it will have an impact on customers visiting preferring to go elsewhere for the whole shopping experience.

Horsham garden centre certainly is a profitable set up as coming out of hospital on Christmas Eve late afternoon I decided to do some shopping. Top of my list a Tree!! arriving at Hilliers in Horsham I noticed a few stragglers left...."I suppose you are probably giving them away"

Visited the restaurant today at Hillier’s garden centre, Newbury today and had parsnip soup and a rustic baguette. The best ever - delicious soup and fantastic crusty baguette- exceeded all expectations.
