As a small business getting started with my first accountancy firm it was really important that i chose the right one. Helpbox has so far been seamless in getting me set up. Communication has been fantastic so far with clear and easy instructions to follow.
Everyone that I have spoke to so far as been very helpful, down to earth and easy to chat to, answering any questions I've had with ease and confidence.

I had a really positive experience with this team.
I initially enquired on Friday, heard back the next day, and was fully onboarded by Monday morning... incredibly quick and efficient. The onboarding call was clear and he took the time to explain everything properly without overcomplicating things.
What has impressed me most was their integrity. After reviewing my situation, they proactively told me a Self Assessment wasn’t actually required and offered a refund for the service I’d already paid for... something I'm not sure many firms would do.
Professional, responsive, and genuinely seem to care about doing the right thing for their clients. I’d definitely recommend them.

Honestly wasn't sure what to expect going into my first onboarding call, but Alkis Michael from Helpbox UK put me right at ease. He didn't waffle or overcomplicate things — just told me what I needed to know, answered my questions and made sure I knew exactly what the next steps were. Left the meeting actually feeling confident, which doesn't always happen! Really good first experience.

I cannot say enough good things about the team at Helpbox. With their help I have been able to progress both of my businesses and keep compliant with everything. Nothing is ever to much trouble and no question to silly. A special mention to Nicola Van Hoogdalem as most of my questions go to her and she is always amazing at helping me out with them! I would happily recommend Helpbox to anyone.

After a very frustrating experience…
After a very frustrating experience elsewhere, HelpboxUK took over my account and got me up and running in just under 3 weeks. In my experience, the difference was immediate.
Before that, Clever Accounts had 4 month almost, and only managed to register the company and get my VAT number in place. During the delay, I went 4 months without being paid, which had a serious impact on me socially, professionally, mentally and physically. Venturing out and starting up a new business, this is not the kind of stress and anxiety that is needed and could clearly be avoided.
Once HelpboxUK stepped in, Helen M. and the team quickly identified issues and filled gaps and they were proactive, responsive, and moved things forward properly. Communication was clear, actions were taken quickly, and I finally felt that someone was taking ownership of the situation. Instead of me emailing them chasing, they emailed me faster.
Based on my experience, HelpboxUK delivered exactly what I needed and I would strongly recommend them to anyone looking for an accountant who acts quickly and stays on top of things, especially if you are a startup!

Signed up for a full year, got a full refund! Complete waste
Signed up for a full year, paid upfront, and deeply regretted it almost immediately.
The onboarding was nonexistent. There was no structured process, no clear expectations set, and no real guidance on how to get started. I was essentially left to figure things out on my own after handing over a significant amount of money.
To make matters worse, on our very first call after signing, they asked me to leave a positive review. I had just signed up - I had no idea yet whether the service would be good. I refused, because that's not how reviews work. A positive review should reflect a positive experience, not be a favour you do on day one before anything has even happened. That request alone told me a lot about how they operate.
Things didn't improve. I raised complaints multiple times about the lack of work. Nothing changed. No meaningful output, no accountability, no follow-through.
I had a call with one of their accountants, and after I asked a question, he replied, asking if I had watched their YouTube videos and, if not, that I should, because they answer those questions there 🤔.
When I finally decided enough was enough and asked to cancel, they acted surprised - despite having a paper trail of my complaints from the very beginning.
They initially refused to refund the remaining months I had paid for in advance. It took me presenting my documented complaints for them to eventually agree to a refund.
Completely unprofessional from start to finish. I'm glad I got out and moved on. Save yourself the time and money.
Their director (Michelle) talks a good game on YouTube, but working with this company is a completely different experience.
