Awesome possum except they say pay what you want when you want. Then if you miss one payment they are blowing your email and phone up about making a payment. So which is it pay when we say or when I want?

The Representative was very kind, respectful, sympathetic due to certain life threatening health issues, understanding of how life tends to just get in the way all while being professional. Some companies treat you as if you stole money directly out of their pockets so the dealings with the representative was a breath of fresh air and I thank him.

Owing a company borrowed money at an insane interest rate has set us all in this situation set up to fail. I'm glad my balance was transferred to Halsted! In my case, Halsted helped me lower what I owe and were never pushy. When I couldn't approve their first offer, they didn't harass me and demand payment instead I received a cool text with a better offer after a week or so went by. Listen, if you have to have an account default and go into collections, this is the place you want handling it. Halsted is truly changing the game.

I had a really positive experience with Halstead. I had an old Kohl’s account that had gone into collections. I originally owed around $180 for merchandise, but by the time I even found out about the account, it had grown to around $585 with fees and interest.

I explained that I was willing to pay what I originally owed, but I didn’t feel it was fair to pay all of the additional fees and interest since I never got a bill! I had previously tried to resolve it with another collection agency, but they weren’t willing to work with me, so the account remained unresolved for years.

When Halstead contacted me, I explained the situation again. The first person I spoke with wasn’t able to offer the arrangement I was asking for, but about a month later, someone else reached out and was able to work with me. They allowed me to settle the account with one payment of about $230, which was essentially what I owed Kohl’s, rather than the nearly $585 that had accumulated.

I really appreciated that they listened and were willing to work with me to find a reasonable solution. I’m very happy to finally have this taken care of, and I appreciate Halstead for helping me resolve the account in an honest and straightforward way. Five stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

To be honest, I was never going to pay back this credit card company and then Halstead kept sending me emails and sent me up with a four dollar payment plan weekly because the payment was so low of only 123 I just paid off the entire thing, but thanks to Halstead. I still got the discount off of the entire payment. I will definitely be trying them again.

So far so good, easy to set up the payment plan. Easy to understand all of the fine print.

I've had accounts in collections several different times over the past 20 years (unfortunately). As much as nobody likes being harassed by a collection agency when they're obviously struggling so much they can barely pay their basic needs and are not in a position to pay off the debt (sometimes for years at a time), the way that Halsted has handled their contact with me has been legitimately a breath of fresh air.
I'm used to threats (that are always hollow), fear tactics and phone call harassment that threatens to cause a mental breakdown that would just solidify the fact that you'll never be able to pay because you'll stop being able to function altogether and make any money due to your mental breakdown that they caused.

But this was mostly text message based and not as frequent as you would normally expect and most importantly NOT threatening. They phrase things in a way that makes it sound like they dont judge and are just there to help you. Of course everyone knows this type of thing is still insincere and a bit manipulative, but I feel much more confident about giving money to a company that treats me like a human being rather than one that treats me so inhumanely that you get mad enough that you would never willingly give them a dime no matter what the consequences might be.

And on top of that, the payment plans are legitimately flexible ($3/month if necessary, and adds on discounts to the total etc), and also the payment and checkout process was extremely easy.

I hope more collection agencies take notes. It's not only the morally right way to run their business, it's also much more likely to get people to pay, rather than do everything they can to avoid all interactions entirely

the opportunity to pay a debt in payments and a little discount on top of that! what more do i have to say? that is a big helper in our society right now but a debt needs to be paid!!
