Dear Customer,
Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed account of your experience. We genuinely appreciate the specifics — they allow me to respond with equal clarity, not just to you, but to anyone reading who may be evaluating our brand.
First, on the diagnostic process:
High-performance electric scooters are precision vehicles. When a fault involves the motor or throttle system, the root cause could be anything from a loose connector to a controller logic issue. A hasty response — like immediately shipping a replacement motor — might seem like good service in the moment, but it often results in the wrong fix, multiple rounds of parts being replaced, and a much longer resolution time. That is exactly the experience we are determined to avoid.
Our troubleshooting steps are designed to pinpoint the exact cause in a single, thorough pass. Every step we provided to you comes with written instructions and a video demonstration. None of it requires professional tools, and if anything is unclear, our team offers live video guidance in real time. We do not expect customers to be mechanics. We expect our guidance to be clear enough that a willing customer can follow it — and when it’s not, that’s on us to bridge the gap.
Second, who we are built for:
HALO KNIGHT scooters are high-performance machines, and we are upfront that they are best suited for riders who want to understand their vehicle — not just ride it. Knowing how to perform basic checks, like inspecting a connector or running a controller learning procedure, is part of owning a performance scooter, much like checking oil or tire pressure on a high-performance car. It builds familiarity that serves the rider long after the warranty period ends. That said, we recognise this learning curve can feel steep for first-time performance scooter owners, and we are actively working to make our onboarding and support even more accessible without compromising diagnostic precision.
Third, regarding the shipping cost for parts:
We want to be transparent about our warranty shipping policy, because it’s a question that affects every customer reading this.
Our policy is:
If a defect is present right out of the box — a factory fault identifiable upon delivery — HALO KNIGHT covers the full cost of replacement parts and shipping. This is our responsibility, and we take it without hesitation.
If an issue develops after the scooter has been accepted and used, we cover the cost of the replacement parts under warranty. The shipping cost for those parts is handled by the customer.
Why this distinction? High-performance scooters experience significant stress in daily use. A motor or throttle issue that appears after weeks of riding can result from riding conditions, impact, or wear — not necessarily a factory defect. By structuring the policy this way, we keep our warranty coverage generous on the parts that matter most, while keeping the overall cost of the product fair for all customers. The alternative — building unlimited free shipping into every warranty claim — would simply raise the scooter’s price for everyone, including riders who never need a warranty part. We believe the current approach is the more honest one, and we publish it clearly so no one is surprised.
What we would like to offer now:
If you are open to it, we would like to assign a senior support specialist to your case — one point of contact, no back-and-forth — to complete the diagnosis, whichever route you prefer. You have already invested significant time, and I do not take that lightly.
We respect that your review stands as an honest reflection of your experience to date. Whether or not you choose to update it, we want your scooter to work as it should.
