I signed up for a GymNation Mega Mall (Sharjah) membership which concluded in September 2025. I formally submitted a cancellation request in July 2025, yet GymNation continued charging my account for months after the contract ended without my consent.
When I contacted them for a refund, they claimed I had not submitted supporting documents — despite acknowledging my cancellation request in writing. At no point did they stop the charges or make any reasonable effort to resolve this.
Total unauthorized charges: AED 1,664 — still unrefunded.
I have now filed a formal complaint with SEDD (Sharjah Economic Development Department) under UAE Consumer Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 5 of 2023) and will be escalating to the UAE Ministry of Economy and my bank.
I would not recommend GymNation to anyone. If you plan to cancel your membership, be extremely careful — they will continue billing you and use technicalities to deny your refund.

I would not recommend this gym. I submitted the exact documentation required under their cancellation policy (a one-way flight ticket showing my permanent departure from the UAE), yet they continue to delay and refuse to process the cancellation. The sales process was not transparent regarding the long-term commitment, and now they appear to be using cancellation policies to keep charging customers. After researching online, I discovered that many other members have reported similar experiences. Before signing up, I strongly recommend searching Reddit and other review platforms for GymNation cancellation complaints and making your own judgment. My experience has been extremely disappointing and feels designed to make cancelling as difficult as possible.

A hell of an experience, i moved to dubai for around 9 months, decided to start gym with gymnation, and when i moved back to my home country they dragged me through hell for the cancellation. Eventhough the request should have been very easily accepted as stated in the terms and agreement, and i provided every document, they still declined it without provided an actual reason and kept adding BS fees. Worst gym ever. Didn't expect to find such disappointment and worthlessness in such a well known name in the industry.

Would rate them lower if possible. Insanely overcrowded in the Dubai branches, but especially the ‘signature’ Al Quoz. An unbelievably toxic customer ‘service’ and accounts department. A ‘6 month’ membership is in fact a 7 month membership. The aggressive, threatening and tone deaf responses to reasonable conversation is antiquated to say the least. I had to leave Dubai to take my wife to Europe for special treatment for tuberculosis, which I have evidence for, but still they are chasing for their last 15 days worth of meat . So much better gyms with proper UAE service, equipment and space. Avoid, avoid, avoid!

I would like to clarify that I had already informed the gym staff earlier about my difficult financial and personal situation and requested cancellation of my membership as I was unable to continue using the gym services. I have not used the gym for the past two months.
At present, I am facing severe financial hardship and already have existing liabilities with banks and credit cards. I genuinely do not have the ability to make this payment at this time.

Hello Gymnation Silicon Oasis,
I have read your email regarding cancelling my membership immediately due to the misuse of our DSO parking facility which i was using it overnight as stated on your mail which is untrue and unacceptable. I am a member on same location nearly 2 years already.
I need to be absolutely clear, the accusations you made are false. You did not contact me at any point to verify the situation or request clarification, yet you proceeded to make claims without any factual basis.
I questioned your staff (Philippine Lady) on May 8, 2026 1400H when she was on the parking facility as i was immediately there when she send the police message regarding the parking memo on my car as i was parked 3 hours by that time. I understand that i surpass the given time limit of 2.5 hrs which it was not my intention.
Then suddenly your Philippine Lady staff/management will just go on cancelling my gym membership same time without informing me as this was the first time it happened. My last day of membership was not even the same day when they decided to cancel.
This action was just very unproffesional and shows a very very poor management of a customer service and a very rude response by the Philippine Lady on duty that day when discussing about the parking.
It is unacceptable to issue accusations and take action without even attempting to confirm the details with me. I expect this matter to be reviewed immediately, and hope Gymnation will take action on this seriously.
